Bernie Sanders described his plan to reject the "racist, right wing government of Israel and bring Palestinian and Jew, Iranian and Saudi together under the banner of justice," which is a tall order. Even should it fail, his supporters may argue that "we have to try and keep trying. We owe it to the future not to give up," as if trying were an end in itself. Which is precisely why our brilliant founding fathers gave us the 2nd Amendment in the Constitution. It is there so that when they decide to use their" muscle", we have the ability to push back, and perhaps keep our freedoms. Scratch a leftist and they bleed totalitarian blood, no question about it.

Joe Walsh, the one-term Tea Party congressman swept into office by the 2010 conservative wave, has taken his NeverTrumpism to comic new lows with his Conserving Conservatism™ endorsement of Bernie Sanders on Twitter this weekend. [Tweet] Today he's gone and done it again, with a new op-ed for the Washington Post making plain that he'll vote for Sanders if Sanders is the nominee. In researching this column, I had to spend some time perusing Walsh's Twitter timeline which has the all-too-ironic handle "WalshFreedom." That Twitter handle might be the only thing he has left after losing his guns, his health coverage, and his 401k under a Sanders administration.

CLEARWATER — The three men who held up a CVS Pharmacy on New Year’s Day planned their moves meticulously. The robbers hit at 5 a.m. They wore blue surgical gloves so they wouldn’t leave prints. They waved guns at employees and bound several of them with zip ties. Detectives would later review store surveillance video that showed one of the suspects casing the place the day before. And they made off with a boatload of drugs in white garbage bags — more than 10,000 pills that contained the opioids hydrocodone and oxycodone, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. It had an estimated street value of about $320,000.

He Who Shall Not Be Named Over the last few debates, the contenders have engaged in the occasional hissy fit at one another, but none of the serious contenders had yet to draw any serious blood. But tonight, stuff gets real. Bloomberg has been buying up all the ground game talent, all the consultants, all the analysts, and all the pollsters. And all at pay rates that not even Tom Steyer can afford to match. What Bloomberg hasn't been able to buy is a single vote --

There is much grumbling about President Trump's pardons of well-known Americans such as former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, former NYPD Chief Bernard Kerik and former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, Jr. Some have claimed that it's the end of the rule of law and justice that the president would grant clemency to this well-known rogues gallery along with small-time drug dealers. Blue checkmarks are in high dudgeon: (Snip) Though it wasn't as bad as Bill Clinton pardoning arms dealer Mark Rich and Puerto Rican terrorists, there was plenty of ick factor implicit in some of Trump's choices for pardons and commutations.

An interesting twist is arising from the decision of Attorney General Barr to name an outside counsel, Jeffrey Jensen, to investigate the Michael Flynn case. The former top prosecutor on special counsel Robert Mueller's team says the ploy by Barr is a "ruse" so that the Department of Justice can open a new investigation into former FBI officials James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok. Andrew Weissmann, a former Justice Department official who was known as Mueller's "pit bull" during the Russia investigation, says that "all they did was swapped out a loser case for starting an investigation that is going to be of Comey, McCabe, Pete Strzok,"

This was the week that President Trump really started to drain the swamp. It came when he yanked the nomination of Jessie Liu to a Treasury Department post. The decision was all Trump’s, and occurred after Trump learned details about what was going on when she was United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. Though Trump was most aggravated with Liu not clamping down on the outrageous sentencing recommendations of her staff in the Roger Stone case, there was a long list of other concerns that made it clear to the president the extent of ideological weaponization across the Justice Department. Let’s start with Roger Stone for now. Liu’s so-called

While it may be true that “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” (Shakespeare) it is also true that socialism by any other name still smells like socialism. As we approach this year’s elections, the purveyors of socialism have tried to rebrand their product by calling it “democratic socialism.” The sales force and marketing department of democratic socialism, the Democratic Party, and the mainstream media, are plying a new fairy tale that democratic socialism is nothing like socialism. No siree, nothing like it, they sing in chorus. The chorus, however, is badly out of tune. Democratic socialism is not the wonderland of inclusiveness,

It's no longer 'a question of if...but when' the coronavirus will spread in the US, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials said on Tuesday as they told parents to prepare their children for the possibility of school closures. The CDC said Americans may need to prepare for 'tele-schooling' should the virus continue to spread throughout the US. And although the threat is currently low, Dr Nancy Messonier, CDC's director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, says the public needs to be ready if the virus becomes a pandemic.
