New Scalia Rising? Supreme Court

Is the era of Big Judicial Activism over? It might just be. Supreme Court Justic Neil Gorsuch, in a ruling about denying green cards to migrants who come here to be "public charges," something that's plainly laid out in U.S. law as illegal, threw in a special warning to activist judges, all leftists, who have been beavering away to rule from the bench, warning them that he's tired of their shenanigans. It's a specter to behold - a big lion on the Supreme Court who not only cares about rule of law, but is now warning the leftists out there that he's coming for them. Here's PJMedia's report:

A friend of mine, who is a very well connected Democrat attorney, mentioned that he had attended a legal conference where Justice Gorsuch was speaking to a small group of attorneys. He was impressed with the Justice's knowledge of the law and had mentioned that he has many of the same qualities of the late Justice Scalia.

Yeah, right. Activitist black robed demigods are gonna follow the law cause a newbie on the SCOTUS made some unenforceable comments. Until someone or some organization actually pulls the power to legislate from the bench, Clinton, Obambi and Carter judges will contiune this nonsense.

"This justice rocks." YES! We are starting to see the impact of President Trump's appointments and it is a breath of fresh air and a storm front against the liberals' hold on the legal system which they have perverted to their purposes when they couldn't achieve them legislatively. THIS is what terrifies the Left. THIS is why they are trying to impeach him. They failed in the legislature and Presidency. Playing dirty, they had success in the courts. Until now. After Trump has finished the next 5 years, the courts will be significantly remade for decades to come. What it also exposes is judges that are willing to pervert our system of government to get what they want. HOW can such judges be impartial? They "know" that their diktats will be overturned but they do it anyway? They are "gaming the system"? They should not only be overturned, they should be impeached.

There needs to be some sort of a penalty for these overreaching, clearly out of bounds, judges. I have no idea if there is any sort of a censure process for judges who clearly step out of bounds like this, but if not, there should be.

I always find asking for God's help - followed by prayers of praise and thanksgiving - when answered with a heart full of acceptance - to be key to a happy and a more knowledgeable life. Slipping up from time to time makes me unhappy and is a waste of time. Today it is easy to praise Justice Gorsuch, I choose to praise Kobe for his late-blooming maturity as my Protestant friend encouraged me - "Bloom where you're planted." That is what IMO Kobe did.

On impeachment, Mitt Romney has thrown a spanner in the works. What looked like a speedy scrapping of the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, premised on Democrats beclowning themselves, is now on hold. Romney says that John Bolton's "bombshell" about a supposed Ukrainian aid-for-investigation quid pro quo is so significant it merits calling Bolton as a witness in the Senate impeachment trial, just as Democrats have been calling for, though not enough to call him in at the House. According to the Associated Press: WASHINGTON (AP) — It’s Mitt Romney’s big moment, again. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee has for a year been a

Based on its own ideology, the American Left must now conclude that their own educational policies are racist. A groundbreaking study by a group called Brightbeam (“a network of education activists demanding better education and a brighter future for every child”) has discovered that cities politically dominated by progressives have far greater gaps between the average educational achievement levels of whites and minorities of blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans than cities politically dominated by conservatives. John Hinderaker of Powerline introduced me to the findings:

Hard to say what fired and now former National Security Advisor John Bolton is up to these days now that the Senate impeachment trial is on. The latest news is here on the front page of the New York Times, reporting an anonymous "leak": WASHINGTON — President Trump told his national security adviser in August that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens, according to an unpublished manuscript by the former adviser, John R. Bolton.

Like week-old meat left in a hot car, the stench of defeat is starting to overpower the swag pens and stifled giggles in the Democrats' impeachment project. Axios has fresh news about how bad it is: Officials in both parties tell me that — barring surprise new information — President Trump is on a glide path to swift acquittal at his Senate impeachment trial, despite a blizzard of evidence bolstering Democrats' accusations. Why it matters: Trump has a decent chance of avoiding witnesses and of losing zero Republican votes on conviction. Think about that: When the news broke,

Communist regimes are famous for concealing inconvenient information and that appears to be the case in China with the spread of the coronavirus, a SARS-linked pneumonia-like flu that reportedly has killed 26, infected nearly a thousand, and spread to to more than a half a dozen countries beyond China, including the U.S. The Chinese have got 20 million people on lockdown in Wuhan and several cities near it, just as the Chinese New Year begins, which is the entire region's biggest holiday. It's pretty obvious the epidemic is spreading anyway. Officials, culpably or not, closed the barn door after the horse got out. According to the Associated Press:

Adam Schiff is a man of very peculiar reasoning. Like a dolt shouting louder at a foreign-language speaker to make him 'understand,' Schiff's decided that if he just keeps talking enough with his long, long, long speeches, we will all suddenly turn into anti-Trumpsters and throw Trump from office. No kidding, he spoke for two and a half hours in his House manager introduction to the Senate impeachment court, the length of which alone was deadly to his case in the age of Twitter. Seriously, two and a half hours. Imagine listening to a dog barking for two and a half hours.... This sentiment pretty well describes how well that went over:

In an interview this week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained that the Democratic Party wasn’t sufficiently leftist because it hasn’t embraced her style of socialism. “There are a lot of true believers that we can ‘capitalism’ our way out of poverty,” she complained. We doubt there are very many such believers remaining in the Democratic Party, given that 70% of those who identify as Democrats now have a positive view of socialism. To the extent that there are any free market capitalists left in the Democratic Party, it’s possible that they are true believers because they’ve seen the data,

We already know the kids couldn't stand it. Remember this? President Trump has decided to at least partially scrap it. According to The Hill: Under the new rules, schools would be allowed to reduce the number of fruits and vegetables required at each meal. The latest change follows a 2019 rollback of restrictions on milk and sodium content in school lunches.

You’ve got to hand it to the Democrats -- they can hold their caucus together for the flimsiest of causes. The GOP, though, has all these RINOs who have to establish their independence; they’re willing to break party unity when it serves their own ambitions. Three senators – Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Mitt Romney of Utah – are rumored to be willing for witnesses to be called in the impeachment trial now underway in the Senate. Obviously, such a slowdown benefits the Democrats, who want the impeachment to headline news reports as long as possible.

The agency has faced stiff budget cuts under President Donald Trump, including to emergency funds and global health programs that were established following West Africa’s Ebola epidemic in 2014. “Like so much else, Trump’s approach to keeping us safe from disease outbreaks is a mess,” Warren wrote in an online post announcing the plan.
