Robbery is up almost 30% in New York City since the first of the year. Is this a statistical blip, a trend — or a New Year’s bail-reform gift from Albany, robbery now largely being a revolving-door offense in the Empire State? Time will tell, but consider this as well: According to the latest NYPD stats, the number of shooting victims in the city is up 31% since New Year’s Day — so at the very least Gotham appears to be off to a rocky 2020 compared to last year. The correct way to deal with a crime problem is to eliminate repeat offender and offenders whose crimes are too egregious from the public. This is what executions are for. Which should be done after a reasonable amount of time - no more than 5 years - for appeals. Why should the public pay to house criminals? Their money is better spent on their businesses and families. Crimes where people deliberately cause harm or threaten to cause harm to others should be considered. I don't mean the "I'm going to KILL you!" people. Words are words. If you have someone use an instrument to try to kill someone or commit a crime using an instrument to threaten harm. They should also consider anyone who commits massive fraud where people lose their life savings. And maybe consider politicians who pocket taxpayer money. Like the Bidens. Just... dispose of them. Let the rest of us get on with our lives minus scum who would harm us. Of course, from

Most people, in this country (USA) are quite honest. A smaller portion are pretty much honest. An even smaller part will take what they can get, stealing, lying, bullying. At least, unless fear of detection and punishment holds them back. That is the thirty one percent increase in New York. Great move, Mayor.

New York politicians must have seen the crime stat comparing Baltimore and New York. Baltimore with one seventh of the population of New York City had more murders then New York. This cannot stand. The New Yorkers felt that Baltimore can never ever out shine New York in any category.

Don't blame the police. De Blasio has been trying to undo everything that Rudy did to make my city livable. De B can't have that. I ride the subway 6 days a week. The MTA runs the trains but the bums run the subway. NYPD has been told not to arrest them. Consequence? 3 bums per car on the weekend. Idiots in the Council voted to close Rikers Island and give 4 of the 5 boroughs their own jail. (They really want the real estate and the building contracts.) Moving the same jailbirds and the guards to a new place will not solve the problem. (Why? show of hands. . . ) What was the City Council thinking? We have term limits - by the time this takes effect we will be long gone - temporary help making permanent decisions.

This is going to get worse. Sooner or later there will be a truly horrendous crime by a perp or perps who were unleashed on the people of NYC, I don't know why DeBlasio is doing this. NYC is already deep blue and I don't think that a lot of these criminals even vote. The ones that will applaud this absurd program already vote left so there's not much to gain here other than virtue signaling.

Rogue NYPD officers are using a sketchy facial recognition software on their personal phones that the department’s own facial recognition unit doesn’t want to touch because of concerns about security and potential for abuse, The Post has learned. Clearview AI, which has scraped millions of photos from social media and other public sources for its facial recognition program — earning a cease-and-desist order from Twitter — has been pitching itself to law enforcement organizations across the country, including to the NYPD. The department’s facial recognition unit tried out the app in early 2019 as part of a complimentary 90-day trial but ultimately passed on it, citing a variety of concerns.

Political figures have long used their families to route power and benefits for their own self-enrichment. In my new book, “Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite,” one particular politician — Joe Biden — emerges as the king of the sweetheart deal, with no less than five family members benefiting from his largesse, favorable access and powerful position for commercial gain. In Biden’s case, these deals include foreign partners and, in some cases, even U.S. taxpayer dollars. The Biden family’s apparent self-enrichment involves no less than five family members: Joe’s son Hunter, son-in-law Howard, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie.

Over the objections of the National Rifle Association, a state Senate panel Monday unanimously signed off on a far-reaching measure that would close the gun-show “loophole,” create a record-keeping system for private gun sales and set aside $5 million to establish a “statewide strategy for violence prevention.” The proposal (SB 7028) is a priority of Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, as evidenced by the Senate Infrastructure and Security Committee’s consideration and passage of the measure the day before the 2020 legislative session begins. The sweeping legislation would require background checks and a three-day waiting period for firearms sold “on property to which the public has the

Never put a time limit on your doomsday predictions. This rookie error has been the undoing of charlatans, cultists and false prophets through the ages, from Martin of Tours, who predicted that the world would end by 400, to Harold Camping, who claimed it would happen on Sept. 6, 1994.
