China's coronavirus outbreak looks

Communist regimes are famous for concealing inconvenient information and that appears to be the case in China with the spread of the coronavirus, a SARS-linked pneumonia-like flu that reportedly has killed 26, infected nearly a thousand, and spread to to more than a half a dozen countries beyond China, including the U.S. The Chinese have got 20 million people on lockdown in Wuhan and several cities near it, just as the Chinese New Year begins, which is the entire region's biggest holiday. It's pretty obvious the epidemic is spreading anyway. Officials, culpably or not, closed the barn door after the horse got out. According to the Associated Press:

Keep the citizens worked up into a fear/frenzy... That's how control works. There are 7.5 billion people in the world and you want me to be frightened over the same number of deaths that happen in Chicago on a Saturday night?

Replace "China" with "Russia" and the story would read the same. Communist regimes at their best.

i wonder how many people die in our country each year due to the well known influenza virus? How does this compare to the new Wuhan virus?

Now that the central government is on the case they will shut it down pretty effectively. Surgical masks don't work, too porous and viruses too small, and you can get infected via your eyeballs from airborne virus. But the power of the State, now we're talkin'.

When the first reports came out about this outbreak it caught my attention for one simple reason; it made no sense that a few flu-like cases in China, in the winter, seemed to be getting so much attention. At the time the numbers were like 20 cases and 1 death. Only yesterday did I read a report that Chinese scientists had analyzed the RNA? a couple of weeks ago and knew this was a big new problem. I suspect it was created and escaped from a government lab but it is more convenient not to announce that.

Everything is always 'worse than the ChiComs are admitting', and always has been. Huge swaths of their country is still living in the Middle Ages, and their cultural lifestyle choices are literally insane from a modern national health standpoint. China is THE source of all the new flu viruses every year, because they feed duck and goose feces to their hogs. This permits the bird viruses to be exposed to the hogs systems, and there are inevitably various new strains of avian-mammal influenza viruses created each year. Even if they aren't intentionally trying, and IMO that is alwaysquestionable when you are considering China, their culture and disgusting lack of sane, reasonable modern national health practices is subjecting the entire planet to the ravages of new strains of influenza each year, with many thousands of deaths that would not otherwise occur. China is a bioweapons factory - the entire damned country.

A North Carolina animal shelter says it has received over 100 applications to adopt a mean pet, after they used some brutal honesty in an ad to adopt out what it is calling the "World's Worst Cat." The shelter says it has received so many calls and messages that it is asking people to be patient while they try to get back to everyone. Mitchell County Animal Rescue wrote on Facebook it thought Perdita "was just sick, turns out she's a jerk." Photos of the cat show she has a distinctive stare that just gives the impression she has no desire to be your friend. The shelter says Perdita's likes include

Adam Schiff is a man of very peculiar reasoning. Like a dolt shouting louder at a foreign-language speaker to make him 'understand,' Schiff's decided that if he just keeps talking enough with his long, long, long speeches, we will all suddenly turn into anti-Trumpsters and throw Trump from office. No kidding, he spoke for two and a half hours in his House manager introduction to the Senate impeachment court, the length of which alone was deadly to his case in the age of Twitter. Seriously, two and a half hours. Imagine listening to a dog barking for two and a half hours.... This sentiment pretty well describes how well that went over:

In an interview this week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained that the Democratic Party wasn’t sufficiently leftist because it hasn’t embraced her style of socialism. “There are a lot of true believers that we can ‘capitalism’ our way out of poverty,” she complained. We doubt there are very many such believers remaining in the Democratic Party, given that 70% of those who identify as Democrats now have a positive view of socialism. To the extent that there are any free market capitalists left in the Democratic Party, it’s possible that they are true believers because they’ve seen the data,

With impeachment drawing headlines, and Bernie Sanders sucking all the air out of the room with socialist schemes, Joe Biden is back to making gaffes, except that in this age of fantastical impeachment charges and unreal socialist schemes, gaffes are just business as usual. Here are three idiocies from Biden this week, and this was just Tuesday: Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed on Tuesday that illegal immigrants in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program are "more American than most Americans" because they had "done well in school."

Swedish teen Greta Thunberg scolded the political and business aristocracy Tuesday at the World Economic Forum, insisting “that we start listening to the science and that we actually start treating this crisis as the crisis it is.” Why is she continually treated as a savant and prophetess when she has nothing to offer but embellishment? Though only 17, Greta is an accomplished nag, a word we don’t use lightly, but it fits because she is perpetually badgering and complaining. So what's the verdict on Michelle Obama's "nasty, rotty" school lunch program, supposedly loaded with green vegetables that somehow went onto the trays gray? We already know the kids couldn't stand it. Remember this? President Trump has decided to at least partially scrap it. According to The Hill: Under the new rules, schools would be allowed to reduce the number of fruits and vegetables required at each meal. The latest change follows a 2019 rollback of restrictions on milk and sodium content in school lunches.

Jan. 15, 2020, a date which will live in infamy on two continents. How oddly coincidental that the world witnessed massive abuses of constitutional power in both the United States and Russia on the same day. In Moscow, Russian ruler Vladimir Putin suddenly unveiled changes to the Russian constitution that will for all practical purposes render his unrestrained rule permanent. He was prime minister from 1999 to 2000, president from 2000 to 2008, prime minister again from 2008 to 2012, and now president again since 2012. Bernie Sanders has spent years convincing voters that his Soviet honeymoon, his support for the Nicaraguan Sandinistas, his admiration for Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez were all a misunderstanding. See, it's Denmark, Danish-style socialism he wants for America, not a second Venezuela. He was really quite reasonable in intentions all along. It was exposed as garbage the other day, when James O'Keefe released an undercover video of a top-line paid Iowa staffer, Kyle Jurek, praising gulags, re-education camps, burning cities, beaten cops, and killing anyone who resists the "revolution" as the plan all along. Worse still, he said the Bernie campaign was loaded with such people,

The staffer’s taste for violence, and his eagerness to punish those who’d rather not be forced into the commune, are almost exactly as we would have expected. Apparently believing that he was speaking to a friendly journalist from the mainstream media over the course of several months, Kyle Jurek, described by Sanders’ Iowa field director as a “top-tier organizer,” went off on a tirade that sounded like Politburo talking points.
