The San Francisco 49ers blew out the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship on Sunday, securing their spot in Super Bowl LIV. The Niners will make their first Super Bowl appearance since 2013, when their Colin Kaepernick-led squad fell to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-31.
Meanwhile, in the AFC Championship, the Kansas City Chiefs took care of the Tennessee Titans, aided by a monster performance by their superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes completed 23 of 35 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns, adding a highlight touchdown run late in the second quarter.

I had a hunch about 6 weeks ago that Mahomes was going to propel the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. The kid is on fire and the Chiefs are fired up. KC all the way.

Glad to see Mahomes going to the Super Bowl. Been rooting for him since I saw him play for Texas Tech back in 2016. Wreck 'em Tech! Go Red Raiders! Guns Up!
Sorry to see SF beat the Packers. It would have been cool to see a rematch of Super Bowl 1. SF looks good but without their home field advantage (poop, rats, homeless, illegal aliens) they may feel uncomfortable in Miami. It's too clean.

BTW ... Super Bowl I was not called the Super Bowl (I think that moniker wasn't used until Super Bowl III), it was the AFL-NFL Championship Game, as the two leagues did not formally merge until 1970. The first four games were between the two leagues. And the results: Green Bay Packers 2, AFL 2 (Jets in 69 and Chiefs in 70). Lombardi died in the fall of 1970 and the trophy was named in his honor for Super Bowl V.

I'd given up on the NFL well before miserable Kaepernick's antics but last year Mahomes got my attention. He's made the game fun again and the NFL owes him his due credit for saving their bacon.

Two very good teams in this matchup, but the Chiefs will have to find a way to keep the lid on the 49ers' rushing game. I hope they succeed.

I was born and raised in Kansas City and have been a Chiefs fan since day 1. Mahomes is the real deal - fearless, an awesome leader, and has great character. I’m hoping he, Coach Andy Reid, and the team win big time against the 49ers.

Right you are #3. I watched that game with my dad. It was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, or so it seems to me now.

Go Chiefs!
It would be especially sweet if a Heartland America team sticks it to the San Fran pukes in the same year that Trump is re-elected.

#9, you were right, dinosaurs did roam the earth back then.
Dinosaurs like Vince Lombardi, Hank Stram, Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Len Dawson, Bobby Bell, Emmitt Thomas and many more of those old dinos still roamed the fields.

I went to bed at halftime of the Green Bay game. Rodgers had the look of a man who knew the outcome was already decided. I laughed with my wife and daughter about the comments I see online... If your team wins - hooray. If they lose - it's rigged!
