Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer have made zero headway on designing a bipartisan set of rules for President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial more than two weeks after their first face-to-face meeting on the matter.
The two leaders gave dueling floor speeches on Friday but held no substantive meeting. In a brief conversation on the floor, Schumer told McConnell to focus on his demands. “I said to him on the floor: ‘Look Mitch, hope you’re thinking about this. We need documents and we need witnesses,’” Schumer said as he left the Capitol for the day on Friday afternoon.

Politico calls Collins and Murkowski “moderate Republicans.” I consider the likes of McConnell as moderate republicans. Those two dames are RINOS, not moderates.

"We need cowbells and we need more cowbells,’” Schumer said as he left the Capitol for the day on Friday afternoon."

Documents? You mean like the 'Steele' dossier? Witnesses? You mean like the ones you dredged up to smear Republican judge-candidates, or more particularly, the ones you guys coached through the House Impeachment hearings?
You ARE funny...

I think they need someone like Ted Cruz to take the Floor, lay out why this Impeachment is a Fraud, and ask McConnell to take a floor vote to dismiss. Then ALL Republicans should vote Yes, and walk out! Done! I would LOVE this!! Let Schumer sit there and demand he and Nancy need a "fair" chance, with Witnesses, to present their Articles and any other Articles they have drummed up over the Christmas Break. Mc Connell should gavel them out of order, call a recess and leave the room! Show them EXACTLY WHO runs the Senate!

We sat and watched the most partisan impeachment ever in the history of this country while schiff and his minion made fools of themselves, and now Chuck the Schmuck want a bipartisan Senate trial?
First Chuck name me one Democrat Senator that will vote in favor of Donald Trump in this so-called trial.
Chuck tell me that your vote is not already determined.
You must truly believe that all Americans are as stupid as the Democrat Trump haters.

How long in limbo? Forever. This all isn't going anywhere, unless/until PDT collapses in the polls. Both sides prefer it that way.

It is the House's responsibility investigate, interview witnesses, and to vote for or against impeach. It is also their responsibility to "prosecute" the articles of impeachment in the Senate "trial".
As usual the dems are changing the meaning if fair trial. A fair trial means one for the accused not for the prosecutors.

#4, Sen. Hawley, of Missouri, has introduced a dismissal bill to which will end this. If McConnell will permit the bill to be voted on, I think there is a good chance that this can end this whole charade, once and for all.

All those words, but not a single reference to the fact all McConnell is asking is that the Senate use the same rules for a Republican president impeachment trial that the Democrats wrote for a Democrat president impeachment trial. I guess including that significant tidbit isn't part of the narrative.

The House has not impeached the President until the articles of impeachment are filed with the Senate for deliberations. There is nothing for the Senate to discuss until the articles are in their hands for disposition. Nothing can come from nothing. Time for the country to move on to foreign policy, economic policy, regulatory policy, tax policy, immigration policy, education policy, etc. Do your job, Dims.

It's a real shame that some of the "blows" couldn't raise some real lumps on Schumer's head.
