About the 'Terrifying' Armed Churchgoers

Ever since it was discovered that several armed churchgoers drew their weapons to stop a gunman at a church in Texas last week, the anti-gun mainstream media types have been trying to tell the public that armed, law-abiding citizens are a bad thing. The New Year's Day installment of media malpractice hyperbole arrives courtesy of the nauseatingly leftist USA Today: "@USATODAY Opinion: Jack Wilson is exactly the type of person you want around with a gun because he's a firearms instructor. But we know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns. And that's terrifying."

My wife and I have been birding in way South Arizona and it is very comforting that one of the birders had a Glock on his belt. We often see people on the streets of Tucson with open carry and I bet there are more concealed. Very comforting.

This is just another example of how the Leftists control the media, and indisputably have the megaphone, but they don't have the minds of the people, to wit, Donald Trump is President and any sensible person supports the armed church goers who prevented a mass murder. Personally, I find the drumbeat from the Left to be just so much annoying noise. However, they do pose a danger to America, because while they are busily beating up on Donald Trump and the tens of millions of Americans who support him, we have real enemies, like Iran, China, and Russia and deranged killers right here in America. And it does our country no good to have our own media constantly bashing our leader and instigating division between Americans, not to mention, that many Democrats have such advanced cases.of Trump Derangement Syndrome, that they seem to be unaware that we must stand together when facing enemies.

Not sure why the media types are concerned about this. I'm sure they never see the inside of a church so they have nothing to worry about.

There is another reason the left has not been able to take over completely, and it's one major thing keeping them in check. It's the fact we are an armed citizenry. Countless times they have tried with different angles to make Americans helpless and vulnerable. Vigilance is vital. Power is their goal.

One of the things that is scary to the Left is that when they rabble rouse they have to worry that the people that they harass might be armed and fight back. Their goal is to be able to riot and intimidate without fearing reprisals. What happened in Texas make them fearful that they can't get away with it.

The snowflake media ought to get over themselves. Check out what kind of sword St. Peter was carrying when he chopped off Malchus's ear. That was also a good day to go armed. The tiny little church I attend has 4 armed parishioners patrolling the doors from open to close. We never know which 4 men and women have the watch. Amen.

What I am finding appalling is that the media is subtly rooting for carnage so they have something else bloody to report on. The armed citizen that stopped that shooter is a good guy, but he derailed their story. Foul beasts are running the media at the moment. Besides, the crosses in those churches would cause most of the Leftist media to spontaneously combust.

These leftist bastiges would have liked nothing better than to have had that rug mutt kill a couple dozen at least, as it would have made months worth of anti gun crusading media rants for the entire nation. They love it when they have the blood of others to use for their agenda. The leftists have to be half insane to even belong to the Dem party today, that is almost the top qualification for them. I would never let one of them make any decision for me and my family.

I can tell you about these other armed citizens. Why didn't they ask me? If the are LTC holders they have attended class to learn the Texas gun laws, passed a firearms qualifications test, had federal background checks and they were fingerprinted. Is that not enough? They also may have had training at the facility run by Mr. Wilson. The press does not do their homework, do they?

FTA: ...But we know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns. And that's terrifying." What is actually terrifying is the mass slaughter that would have taken place if there had NOT been anybody there to return fire. As it was, one of the two church security persons was killed before the other one could shoot the would be mass murderer. Perhaps even more terrifying is if the anti-gun media types like USA Today had their way, everybody in that church would have been murdered.

Mass murder of Christian 'religious zealots' by a crazed gunman is news but the protection of church members by people with guns is a scary thought to the left. It doesn't fit their narrative it's the reason ANTIFA can harm people and get away with it. It fits the narrative to hurt and kill people on the right who oppose them. Just remember the old saying "an armed society is a polite society" the left is not polite and they do fear armed citizens ready to defend themselves. I fear that groups at concerts, restaurants, schools, churches, even large shopping establishments are targets for a killer to reek maximum havoc on society. The left loves killing especially defenseless babies.

What's most terrifying is the Left's nearly palpable disappointment that the Texas mass shooter didn't succeed in killing more than two members of that congregation, denying the Left its customary propaganda opportunity after madness or evil strikes. The intended victims are not supposed to shoot back, for that would be too dangerous to bystanders. According to the anti-2A zealots, armed civilians don't have any better sense than to blindly shoot into a crowd because that's what the Left prefers to think. Thus, civilian defenders should be disarmed. If the killer kills his victims wholesale, the atrocity serves to stimulate panic and support for gun confiscation from law abiding citizens, never mind that armed defenders are the only ones who can stop the carnage almost as soon as it begins. If an intended victim shoots back at the mass murderer and kills him, the murderer will be reported, dishonestly, as another victim, as happened here (Three--not two--dead in Texas church shooting). Walking free in this land there are some feral lowlife characters that humanity would be better off without. The expenditure of one round of .357 Sig that ended up in the cranial vault of the murderer saved a lot of lives. That should be celebrated, not mourned.

Well, I'm a firearms instructor, too, but I am fine with any honest citizen being armed. I do suggest and recommend that you find a good instructor and spend some serious amount of range time getting your shooting skilled improved. IMO, anyone who won't shoot at least 200 rounds per year in practice isn't serious about it. And 200 rounds per month in good, planned practice would be a whole lot better.

Out of everything that happened, there is one moment Jack Wilson keeps replaying. There have been several times in modern history when political idealists have set out to remake the world. The French Revolution in 1792, for example, attempted to redefine time: "When people who study the French Revolution read about the Uprising of Vendémiaire or the Insurrection of 12 Germinal An III, most simply scratch their heads and wonder, Vendémiaire? Germinal? An III? What's that all about? Few ever bother to learn what these dates mean. In fact, they are part of the French Republican Calendar, aka Revolutionary Calendar, which replaced the Gregorian Calendar in France from 1793 to 1805."

The reason why public business should be conducted in the open, according to Cheryl Chumley of the Washington Times, is that abuse and conspiracy thrive in the dark. "Civil rights advocates have been warning for years that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and the entire Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act system of issuing secret warrants are rife with potential for abuse; are handovers of powers to secret sources that better belong in the hands of duly elected and appointed judges conducting business in open court; and are flagrantly, blatantly unconstitutional. By 2017 it was obvious that the 20th century institutions were reeling under the impact of the information revolution. The old hierarchies and the authority they had wielded from prestige, authority and celebrity were, if not in a state of collapse, at least badly degraded. The leak of secrets showed how incompetent and mendacious the elites were and the MeToo and Jeffrey Epstein affairs demonstrated how venal. The last redoubt of establishment legitimacy rested on the claim that it was democratic, protected individual rights against the power of the police; kept the secrets of the ordinary people from any would-be STASI and that the Will of the People

No Republicans are breaking with the president, and almost all Democrats are expected to approve the charges against him. A raucous town hall Monday in the
