During a question and answer session on NBC’s “Today” show, former vice president and rumored presidential 2020 contender Joe Biden said the hero who stopped the Texas church shooter earlier this month should not have been allowed to carry an AR-15. “With the tragedy that just happened in Texas, how do you justify the Democratic view on gun control when the shooter was stopped by a man who was legally licensed to carry a gun?” a young woman in the audience asked Biden.

Biden is an idiot. Always has been and always will be. What's the saying, you can't fix stupid. One minor correction: "Civilians are already banned from owning automatic weapons." This is not exactly accurate. Civilians can purchase and own fully automatic weapons if they apply for and receive a federal license to do so.. Very expensive process and you will be investigated very thoroughly. For the most part it is not worth the effort unless you are very wealthy and have the time to go through it.

Joe, the person who stopped the shooter was wrong in your eyes and yet the person did something good in decent folks’ eyes. What about your drug-taking, womanizing, money-grubbing son? You don’t think he’s done anything wrong. And yet he’s done no one any good. He’s harmed people. What does that say about your character, Joe??? I’ll answer for ya: It says your character sucks! To your point #9, if Old Joe was THAT stupid two full years ago, imagine how clueless he is now. He didn't get smarter as he grew older. Simple test: If our wonderful service men & woman overseas in war zones like Iraq, outside of Syria or in Afghanistan had to turn in their M16A4's and they were all given just an AR-15 to use, they'd get slaughtered. The outcome of the entire "Desert Storm" effort would have been sadly different.

The Texas NRA instructor who used his own AR-15 to end the church massacre was facing a mass murderer with body armor and a Kevlar helmet, not to mention another AR-15 (which can be used for good or evil, same as with all weapons). Facing such a killer with a pistol would have been suicidal; unless you're Wild Bill Hickok, you need a rifle for accuracy at distance, especially if your assailant is wearing body armor. A pistol shooter would have had to be extremely lucky to have ended the Texas church mass murder. Would Stupid Joe have preferred fifty or more dead at that church had the killer been able to reload again and again at leisure? I think Biden and other anti-Second Amendment Democrats would have preferred a larger body count, especially if they could do some more ululating about gunsgunsguns, which they want to outlaw. (Actually, they want to turn law abiding citizens into felons. They want all the guns themselves, and would prefer that we be totally defenseless against wanton attackers.) Biden is a complete pillock with two digit IQ rampant. Once he recommended that homeowners who thought themselves in danger to use their shotguns to fire warning shots up into the air, Saddam Hussein celebration style. Only a total idiot, completely ignorant of firearm safety, would do or recommend such a thing. Bullets fired high in the air can come down and kill, or can kill others more than a mile away with a more oblique bullet path. Don't ever fire your weapon toward anything you aren't trying to hit. How high could a bullet fly? Here's a for instance that I found a few weeks ago while researching ballistics. If you fire a 9mm (9x19mm) pistol straight up, the bullet will go approximately 4,000 feet high before gravity brings it back down to earth 37 seconds later. A .30-06 rifle bullet would rise 10,000 feet in the air, returning to earth in 58 seconds. Falling from a mile or two high the bullet would achieve near terminal velocity. The top of the skull can be broken by a mere 8 pounds of force. A bullet falling from thousands of feet up could easily--and fatally--penetrate the top of one's head. Are Delaware Democrats this this unbelievably stupid? Apparently so. Biden is a blithering idiot, a totally useless human being who should be horse laughed out of the political arena. Presidential ambitions of anyone this intellectually defective are insulting, but one with Biden's low intelligence quotient doesn't possess the awareness of even the semi-intelligent. He can't hear himself speak. If he could, he'd quit.

Befuddled Biden stumbles across the finish line unless Bloomberg or Steyer outright purchase the nomination. Biden is a corrupt incompetent idiot of a candidate, and the voting public knows it. The only reason he has any traction is because he was Obama's VP. He never accomplished anything on his own. Maybe the Dems will wise up and send him packing just like the Republicans did to Jeb Bush.

If you're facing a larger, stronger, younger attacker intent on killing or maiming you, or an attacker with a deadly weapon (gun, knife, club, etc.), your only effective defense is a gun. Any other response would require otherworldly empty handed fighting skills, or pure luck. Being a martial artist or boxer is a fine way to get into great physical shape, but no amount of fighting skill (or Mace or pepper spray) is equal to a firearm. A one hundred pound five foot tall eighty-year-old woman with a pistol or rifle is capable of ending a huge assailant's--or several assailants'--attack(s) instantly. That's as it should be, what the Founders clearly intended with the Second Amendment. Weapons in the hands of properly trained law abiding citizens are never a threat to public safety, only to those with evil intent. Attempts by eager-to-be-despotic leftist Democrats to outlaw firearms are, veritably, dastardly and evil, in contravention of our God-given rights. Do you doubt that Beto, Bazooka Bloomberg, and many others would be happy--nay, ecstatic--to rule us at gunpoint, especially after confiscating our firearms, greatly lowering their own Antifa thugs'* risks? If you don't you're not yet cynical enough. Whether piecemeal by limiting magazine capacity or making ammunition purchases difficult, or by outright banning, the hoplophobic Left feel threatened by citizens exercising their First and Second Amendment rights. They want us not to resist them because they know so much better than we. The police are, at best, a few minutes away. You are your last line of defense. Are you prepared for the worst? A police friend, seeing my interest in competitive shooting, has told me, earnestly, to keep gun and permit on my person everywhere it's legal, to practice on range and combat course with good instructors, to study videos of police and civilians successfully or unsuccessfully using firearms in self defense, and to understand what an awesome responsibility properly and legally carrying a gun is. If that gun under your belt doesn't make you a nicer, more peaceful, more tolerant person than you normally are, maybe your attitude isn't right for carrying a weapon. Responsible armed folks eschew any potentially dangerous encounters than could have been avoided. *It's not really so odd that a group of leftist Democrat mayors (example: Tom Wheeler, Portland, OR), mostly on the Left Coast, or college deans, have allowed Soros-funded Antifa goons in their black face masks and black clothing, to run riot, criminally assaulting bystanders and legally get away with it. A decade ago Obama spoke of a civilian army equal to the Nation's standing military. That army's nucleus is Antifa. Every damn one of these masked professional assaulters should be locked up. They do not mean well. They mean harm, and unless they are stopped, they will kill. If they haven't already.

Biden is a demented fool. He has always been a fool, and an anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment fool. Thank goodness for brave men like Mr. Willeford, and that he had a powerful, rapid firing weapon when he went up against this murderer. It is interesting that the shooter had a vest capable of stopping the AR15 rifle bullets. The overwhelming majority of "bulletproof vests" are only rated for handgun cartridges, will not stop rifle cartridges. That this person had obtained one of the small fraction of vests that are designed to stop rifle ammunition shows he was quite serious about his murderous intent.

#20, I very much respect your opinions on many things, but your comments on bullets fired into the air are incomplete, and need clarification. Yes, generally "firing into the air" is NOT safe, and should be condemned. However, there are HUGE variances in effects depending on firing angle. Please look up the work done by US Army General Julian Hatcher on the topic of .30 caliber rifle/machine gun bullets fired approximately straight up, say within 30 or 40 degrees of the zenith. They return to earth with a few hundred ft/sec velocity, enough, in Hatcher's testing to put a nice dent in a piece of lumber, maybe a knot and minor cut on a head. The Army was concerned about whether using machine guns to shoot at WW1 enemy aircraft would endanger our own troops on the ground, so Hatcher, head of US Army Small Arms did careful testing on the topic. It is written up in his book "Hatcher's Notebook", which I have had in my library for 4 decades. Where this gets very confusing it that YES, people ARE killed by "firing into the air". No question about it, it is stupid and very unsafe. But this is when the bullets are fired at lower angles from around 30-40 degrees from the horizon to even lower angles. These low angle bullets, even handgun bullets can be dangerous out to half a mile or more, and rifle bullets can be dangerous to well over a mile. In WW1, machine guns, which fired the same ammunition as the battle rifles used, and which is now used in common hunting rifles, were routinely used to strafe trenches out to 2 miles, the guns firing at angles around 10-20 degree up from the horizon. Germany machine gun ammunition had a maximum killing range of ~3800 meters or so, and would go farther. So, deadly at 2+ miles at lower angles, but harmless when it falls back from firing upward near the zenith. And moron Biden's legally foolish shotgun recommendation is ballistically safe. The biggest shotgun trap tournament ever held is at Dayton, and the shooters literally edge the Dayton commercial airport, and are firing directly at the planes, terminal, etc with thousands and thousands of shotgun blasts per day during the tournament. The shot used will go only a couple hundred yards maximum, and it all falls short of any airport property. A shotgun hunting slug (single bullet) would be totally unsafe, but the small, round shot (~1/16th inch diameter) used for trap shooting and bird hunting has very short range, far less than any bullet.

Biden cannot describe the difference between semiautomatic and automatic. He cann0t tell an AR-15 from a BB gun. There is no such weapon termed 'assault weapon'. That was a term generated by the Democrats. It is not mentioned in the Bill that Biden wrote. How can you make law when you do not research weapons or have experts working with lawmakers to ensure the law does not infringe on the freedom to carry a gun.

#32. Absolutely correct. A .22 can travel over a mile. At a mile or a mile and a half it probably won't kill you, but you probably don't want to catch it either. When I was a kid caddying at Rolling Rock country club, my brother and I would walk up the private road to the the clubhouse. The road curved around the skeet shooting platform that was less than 200 yards, if I remember correctly. The members would be shooting and as we walked along we would hear the shot BBs raining through the trees beside the road. It got our attention, but we never saw BBs and I'm sure no one else did or the range would not be there. I just did a search to see if the old range is still there. They do have a skeet shooting lodge, so probably yes. BTW, they also are still doing the annual foxhunt. Western PA billionaires have at least one or two advantages over the troll Bloomers.

Biden and,for that matter, all the other Democrats want more dead bodies to help them push gun confiscation from law abiding citizens. A law abiding with a gun stopping amass shooting doesn't fit their narrative, so they attack the person who saved lives. Remember, the first thing tyrants do is take away all the guns so people cannot fight back against the tyranny..

Joe M™alarky is too stupid to realize that the killer in this case was already prohibited from buying a gun, because he was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force. The problem was the bureaucratic record-keepers did not bother to put his name in the national database, so he did not show up on the instant background check. This is a perfect example what happens when you put all of your faith in Big Government to protect you from the bad guys.

1. I don't think Texas requires any sort of unconstitutional 'license' to carry a rifle. Which is what the guy used, AFAIR 2. We need to start pushing back that the fedgov doesn't get to violate the 2nd through its 'power to tax'. And rescind every unconstitutional law on the books so regular citizens aren't legally harassed by the armed gov thugs. 3. Every citizen needs the same weaponry as the federal combat troops, plus (if you can afford it) artillery, tanks, armored vehicles, fighters and ships (again, if you can afford it) and want to buy one - just as we did before the revolutionary war. For those of you who are aghast, read some history. You've been indoctrinated, not educated.

#43 is correct. Prior to the Civil War, there were private militia groups who had their own artillery. Very expensive, but those who could afford it had legal artillery. No longer legal to purchase any weapon with barrel diameter over .501" without special, extremely difficult to get, "destructive device" permit from the feds.

Richard Nixon resigned 45 years ago, on August 9, 1974, in the face of certain impeachment by the House of Representatives and probable conviction following a Senate trial. It also seems that he did so to spare the nation further agony from the Watergate scandal. While two other presidents have been impeached and stood trial in the Senate, neither Andrew Johnson in 1868 nor Bill Clinton in 1998 was convicted. Nixon remains the only living president to have left office before completing his term. There is no question that Nixon was on the ropes and that his voluntary departure helped heal a badly wounded nation,

BROWNSVILLE, Texas -- Salvador Castillo was yearning for tranquility when he became enchanted by a one-acre homestead close -- but not too close -- to the city, a place where cows graze beneath whispering mesquite trees on the property's edge. Castillo, an Afghanistan war veteran, and his wife bought the home using military benefits and grew their family into their new neighborhood -- about half a mile from a bend in the Rio Grande. They never imagined a border wall could dissect their property someday. But the first letter, stamped with an official government seal, arrived about a year ago. When Joe Biden was America’s point man for Ukraine policy, an allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, started paying his son Hunter $50,000 a month to sit on its board. By Hunter’s own account — and that of another board member — Hunter would never have been offered this lucrative gig had he not been the son of the U.S. vice-president. There is no evidence that Hunter ever lobbied his father on Burisma’s behalf, and the elder Biden reportedly made life harder for his son’s employer by helping to oust a Ukrainian prosecutor who’d taken a hands-off approach to corruption. But this much is beyond dispute:

The former New York newspaperman, playwright, theater critic, and Algonquin Table habitué was known for his sophistication and irreverent wit. But Mankiewicz was also deeply political, and as he watched the Nazis tighten their stranglehold on Germany, he understood the implications and felt he had to act. Abandoning his usual ironic detachment, he wrote The Mad Dog of Europe in a desperate attempt to awaken the American public to the danger of Hitler’s rise to power. ie

The analysis of the report by Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz greatly depends, as is often the case, on which cable news channel you watch. Indeed, many people might be excused for concluding that Horowitz spent 476 pages to primarily conclude one thing, which is that the Justice Department acted within its guidelines in starting its investigation into the 2016 campaign of President Trump. Horowitz did say that the original decision to investigate was within the discretionary standard of the Justice Department. That standard for the predication of an investigation is low, simply requiring “articulable facts.” He said that, since this is a low discretionary standard,

ExxonMobil won a first-of-its-kind climate change fraud trial on Tuesday, as a judge rejected the state of New York's claim that the oil and gas giant misled investors in accounting for the financial risks of global warming. New York Supreme Court Justice Barry Ostrager said the state failed to prove that Exxon violated the Martin Act, a broad state law that does not require proof of intent of shareholder fraud. “The office of the Attorney General failed to prove, by a preponderance of the evidence, that ExxonMobil made any material misstatements or omissions about its practices and procedures that misled any reasonable investor,”

Begin with the premise that there’s no good way for presidential candidate Joe Biden to address the issues that arose from his son Hunter’s work for Burisma Holdings. The former vice president isn’t going to throw his son under the bus, and Hunter can’t resign from his position as a Biden offspring. In mid-October, Hunter Biden did a defiant television interview, declaring he had “no regrets” about anything he did with Burisma. Joe Biden can’t contradict his son and admit that Hunter shouldn’t have taken the position on the company board. Wherever you stand on the political spectrum, you have to pity Hunter Biden.

Former President Barack Obama declared Monday that women are better leaders than men, musing that the world’s living standards would increase if the fairer sex ran the world.Speaking in Singapore at a private event on leadership, Obama conceded that while women have their flaws, he argued that they are “indisputably better” than men, the BBC reports.“Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us [men],” the former president said. “I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board

Climate activist Greta Thunberg apologized after saying that world leaders who don't act on climate change should be put "against the wall."Thunberg, 16, who has been striking against climate change by skipping school for the past year, claimed on Saturday that the Swedish to English translation incorrectly implied she thought politicians should be killed."Yesterday I said we must hold our leaders accountable and unfortunately said 'put them against the wall'. That’s Swenglish: “att ställa någon mot väggen” (to put someone against the wall) means to hold someone accountable," she said. "That’s what happens when you improvise speeches in a second language."

PHILADELPHIA — The Army and Navy academies are looking into hand signs flashed by students that can be associated with “white power” and were televised during the Army-Navy football game on Saturday, school officials said. Cadets at West Point and midshipmen at the Naval Academy in the stands both appeared to display the sign during the broadcast, officials with the two military academies told The Wall Street Journal. The gesture was seen during an ESPN broadcast segment. (Tweet) School officials are trying to determine what the hand signals were meant to convey, they said. “We’re looking into it,” Lt. Col.

By the time Harvey Milk's supervisors in the US Navy officially questioned him about his sexuality, he had graduated from officer school and served as a diving officer on a submarine rescue ship during the Korean War. Then his superiors caught him in a park that was popular with gay men, his nephew said. The sighting raised questions about Milk's sexual orientation in an era when the military banned gay, lesbian and bisexual service members. Milk was forced to resign. In a move that signalled an about-face on the issue of gay rights, the Navy began to construct the USNS Harvey Milk

Clearly Greta Thunberg is being exploited by her cynical puppetmasters, but equally clearly she’s a tiresome, bizarre Marxist scold whose exploitation of the hapless dummies who buy into the climate change hoax is part of what is an increasingly violent plot to undermine capitalism and freedom. Recently, the cretins at TIME, which shockingly still exists in 2019, named her “Person of the Year.” (Snip) In 2029, after the world hasn’t ended but her usefulness has, she’ll be a Jeopardy question and probably shacked up with an unemployed performance artist named Björn in an Oslo suburb. Fun fact: “Greta Thunberg” is Swedish for “Cindy Sheenhan.”

New York—The Hallmark Channel is reversing its ban on advertisements featuring same-sex couples and apologizing for pulling them in the first place, a network spokeswoman told CNN Business. The decision comes after Hallmark parent company Crown Media Family Networks faced calls for viewers and advertisers to boycott its television channel. The ads, from online wedding planning company Zola, showed same-sex couples celebrating marriages. Hallmark president and CEO Mike Perry said Sunday that the company made the "wrong decision" and wants to reinstate the commercials. "The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as we've seen the hurt

If you happen to live in or around Joliet Township in Illinois, located a bit to the southwest of Chicago, and you happen to be looking for work, there’s some good news coming your way. The Township is looking to hire a new clerk. If you’re interested, the job will entail many of the tasks you’d likely expect, including answering phones, filing and making copies. There is one special requirement, however. You have to be a Democrat to apply. (CBS Chicago) A help-wanted ad in the suburbs raised eyebrows this week – with its suggestion that only Democrats need apply. Such a restriction would be illegal.

The comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello did a routine about baseball that is a cult favorite. In it, they kept batting back and forth the question, “Who’s on First?” “What” was on second and “I Don’t Know” was on third. “I Don’t Give a Darn” was shortstop. “Who’s On First” was a humorous and outlandish exchange between the two comics. As the routine went, so politics goes today. President Trump labels any Republican who questions his erratic and narcissistic style as a RINO (Republican In Name Only).
