Liberal who was paying attention: “these right-wing judges will have the power to shape U.S. law on climate, reproductive rights, and other major areas for decades to come”This week ended with the Senate confirming 8 federal judicial nominees, bringing the total of Trump-appointed federal judges to 172, one-fifth of the federal judiciary. But liberals and the mainstream media barely paid attention because they all were focused on Jerry Nadler’s law professor show, which was so boring and worthless, even Nadler had trouble staying awake.

One fifth, it’s a start. President Trumps legacy will hopefully undo some of the last 30 years of judicial activism...

"a second Trump term, at the end of which he may have appointed a majority of the federal judiciary" Trump has accomplished a lot as President but this may be the most enduring and influential. Trump has undone a lot of BO's pen and phone actions but the Congress has been slow to act thanks to some dopey Republicans and the dem House majority since 2018. However, the courts have built up decades of bad liberal decisions. Many of those might be rolled back during the next couple decades. Certainly no new liberal follies are likely to come from the courts. By the time the Trump judges retire, this will be a VERY different Country from a legal perspective.

This is why I love PDT’s tweets. They are his own equivalent of the impeachment circus in that they totally distract the media. He throws an “outrageous” tweet out there and the media does nothing but rant about it for the next week. But in the background he is keeping his promises and they don’t even notice. He plays rope-a-dope with them every time he tweets or makes a statement on his way to Marine One.

If the Dems ever regain the Senate, House and the Executive Branch, they will declare and effectively make the judicial branch a non-entity. History shows that whatever branch of government the Dems control, to them becomes the most powerful branch.

It's clearly for law and order, to ensure activist judges (seems to be nearly all appointed by Obama) aren't used by the Liberals/Progressives to obstruct the Executive branch, or to essentially Legislate from the bench that which the Liberals/Progressives can't obtain.

I'm going for 50% Trump appointed. Gotta have a goal to shoot for. And three on the Supreme Court, maybe even four, would be really nice.

The New York State attorney general has issued a new subpoena to the National Rifle Association, deepening her eight-month investigation and providing fresh clues about where it is headed, according to people with knowledge of the document. The subpoena, which was described to The New York Times, was issued last week and covers at least four areas, including campaign finance, payments made to board members and tax compliance. Because the N.R.A. is chartered in New York and the office of the attorney general, Letitia James, has a range of enforcement options, the investigation has alarmed N.R.A. officials already grappling with infighting and litigation.

For two years, the president of the United States and his followers have loudly declared that the FBI acted unlawfully in conducting a counterintelligence investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential campaign. They repeatedly told the American people that the FBI had done all sorts of bad things, such as tapping Donald Trump’s wires during the campaign, opening an investigation without adequate cause, with the intent to damage Trump, and inserting secret informants into the Trump campaign. The president said the FBI’s actions were “treason.”

In early October, Elizabeth Warren hit her stride. Her stock in the Democratic primary had been climbing steadily since midsummer, and as Joe Biden continued to lag, the Massachusetts senator became the first presidential hopeful to overtake him as front-runner in the RealClearPolitics polling average. She’s been in free fall ever since. Warren now sits at just 14.8 percent in the RCP average, in third place behind Bernie Sanders, with about half the support Biden has. The former vice president has lost a step or two (or several) since his time as Obama’s right-hand man, but it’s looking less and less likely that Warren will be the Democrat to supplant

After three years of trying to oust President Donald Trump from the White House – using everything from Russia! Russia! Russia! to the Emoluments Clause to the 25th Amendment to Ukraine phone calls – Democrats appear to have settled on four items on which to impeach the president. The House Judiciary Committee is hearing “presentations of evidence” from attorneys representing the Democrat majority and Republican minority in order to formalize articles of impeachment against Trump. Former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy told Fox News that after the testimony by Intelligence Committee majority counsel Daniel Goldman, it boils down to four things

It’s now official: Russia, Russia, Russia really was fake news from the start. There was no factual basis for the FBI to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign. That means there was no need for the appointment of a special counsel and that Robert Mueller should have stayed in retirement. It means the two years of rumors and accusations and the giant cloud of suspicions over the White House produced by Mueller’s headhunters were unfair and unjustified. It also means J. Edgar Hoover can finally rest in peace. James Comey is now revealed to be the dirtiest cop ever to run the FBI.

Authorities scrambling to search for survivors after a volcanic island in New Zealand erupted said Monday that aerial searches have revealed "no signs of life" since the eruption. The New Zealand police said in a press release early Tuesday morning local time that at least five people died and eight are missing when the eruption took place Monday afternoon on White Island. White Island sits about 30 miles offshore from mainland New Zealand and experts say it's the country's most active cone volcano, with about 70 percent of the volcano lying under the sea. In the hours after U.S. Attorney John Durham announced Monday that he did not "agree" with key findings by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, speculation swirled over what Durham has uncovered in his ongoing review into potential surveillance abuses against President Trump's team. Durham's inquiry has had a broader scope than Horowitz's, including a focus on foreign actors as well as the CIA, while Horowitz concentrated his attention on the DOJ and FBI. Additionally, Durham's criminal review has had additional investigative resources not available to Horowitz.

"What happened to Drudge?"A lot of people have been asking that question lately. If you talk to conservatives these days, you'll hear that Matt Drudge's eponymous news aggregation site has gone over to the dark side—that Matt's joined the anti-Trump resistance. And now, Rasmussen Reports, an arguably reputable polling operation, is calling Drudge out on Twitter, even suggesting that the site has been sold. The whole kerfuffle appears to have begun at the end of November, when the Bongino Report, touted as a Trump-friendly alternative to Drudge, launched. Bongino taunted Drudge with a pair of tweets:

Congressman Al Green has become one of the Democratic Party’s top spokesmen. Which is a good thing, because Green is generally unfiltered, and therefore gives us a glimpse into his party’s id. This, for example, is revealing: Rep. It’s widely accepted that one of Hillary Clinton’s worst blunders as a presidential candidate involved her proclivity to insult large swaths of the electorate. Mudslinging is hardly a new phenomenon on the campaign trail, of course, but most politicians reserve their calumny for opposing candidates. Clinton’s innovation was to turn her invective on the voters. Yet, even as the Democrats endeavor to undo the electoral consequences of her ineptitude, many of their candidates continue to follow Clinton’s deplorable example. As recently as last week, former Vice President Joe Biden, “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg, and Senator Kamala Harris felt the need to remind prospective voters of their multifarious shortcomings.

Before he embarked upon his killing spree, someone who appeared to be Alshamrani ranted on Twitter about the evils of America. First, he rejected the George W. Bush explanation for jihad terrorism,

Republicans are using dirty tricks on Biden, Kerry told reporters Sunday at a rally in New Hampshire. He suggested President Donald Trump’s criticisms of Biden’s son’s business dealings in Ukraine are similar to those leveled against his Vietnam War record in the 1960s. “This is not a new strategy. They did it with me, about my military record,” he said at the rally.

Democrats on Tuesday unveiled two articles of impeachment against the president: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Notably, neither allege a high crime or misdemeanor. Noticeably absent was the Democrats’ longheld appeal to bribery, extortion, or treason. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), flanked by chairs Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Eliot Engel (D-NY), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), and Richard Neal (D-MA), stepped aside as both Nadler and Schiff briefly offered minimal details on their decision.
