Gov. Northam suspends policy allowing
strip searches of children at Virginia prisons

The policy that allowed Virginia prison officials to strip search minors has been suspended by Gov. Ralph Northam. “I am deeply disturbed by these reports — not just as governor but as a pediatrician and a dad,” he said in a statement to The Virginian-Pilot. “I’ve directed the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security to suspend this policy while the department conducts an immediate investigation and review of their procedures.” An 8-year-old girl was strip searched in late November (Snip) The girl was accompanied by her father’s girlfriend, who is not her legal guardian. If they refused to be searched, they could have been banned from the prison.

As previously stated before, I spent a month installing an X-RAY system in a state penitentiary. While I was never subjected to search in this manner, I saw at least once a prisoner going through this (by accident) and it wasn't pretty. As an aside, I found razor blades hidden around the old system being replaced. I don't know what regulation that state or federal prisons have about searching visitors, but there seems to be some "Draconian" one in place here that the parent should never have allowed this child to be visit them. Could have been a "test" to get this response from governor.

That is a bad mistake. Political correctness is going to cause deaths and injury to children. These are not just children, in spite of their age. Many are vicious, soulless, amoral animals. Spend some time in a youth facility (prison) and you will understand.

I hate to say this, but if you support children being searched at a prison, you can't object when the TSA does it at an airport. (Which, needless to say, I do object to).

#7, that is a absolutely ridiculous comparison. I have refrained from posting my actual first thoughts, and will be polite. People in PRISON and their families have lost a LOT of rights, via DUE PROCESS when they were convicted of a crime. People flying on an airplane have not been subjected to any due process and should retain their rights.

Why is black-face Northam still in office? or the lieutenant governor and attorney general of Virginia for that matter? Any Republican would have been long gone. Double standards again. Hypocrisy.

The U.S. military believes the unarmed drone that went missing over the Libyan capital last month was actually shot down by Russian air defenses. The U.S. Africa Command is demanding the return of the aircraft's wreckage, which had been part of an operation conducted in Libya to assess the area's security and monitor for violent extremist activity. The command didn't give a reason for the drone loss after the Nov. 21 incident, but they had been investigating, Reuters reported. Army General Stephen Townsend told the outlet he believed Russia's air defense operators at the time "didn't know it was a U.S. remotely piloted aircraft when they fired on it."
