Dr. Anthony Fauci was noticeably absent from the White House daily coronavirus briefing for the second day running on Monday.
The coronavirus expert admitted in an interview over the weekend that he has to tell Donald Trump facts four times to get his point across.
Since the chat with Science was published Sunday he has not been seen at the press conferences led by the president.
(Snip) Trump was asked Monday about Fauci, saying: 'He's a good man. I like Dr. Fauci a lot, just so you understand. He is not here because we are discussing what he is best at but he will be back very soon.'

If the DM had bothered to listen to the briefing they would know the answer. A reporter ask this question, Pence answered.

Trump gave him the opportunity to be front and center and he abused being invited to the posium. So now Fauxi will become the invisible man. If it had simply been another media editing hack job, we'd have already heard disclaimers. So like all good scientists he'll be 'allowed' to return to his test tubes and hidden anonymity. What a douche!

President Trump took his supporters advise and kept him in the lab processing the coronavirus tests.(Lol) Way to go Mr. President. Keep him out of the public view.
Op, I believe that Dr. Fauci will be limited to speaking to the public until he retires or forced out.

Rush Limbaugh has often said half jokingly that the callers to his show appear on the air "to make the host look good".
The President is often gracious to share the spotlight at the podium with others, and when the good Dr. did his face palm at the news conference update a few days ago, THAT was the event the news media chose to cover instead of the information shared at the event.
The news media NEVER misses an opportunity to CREATE a new FAKE NEWS "shiny object" to take our attention away from what is important, and they create something to denigrate Mr. Trump and put that into the 24/7 spin cycle--
Unfortunately for them, this uncovered the Dr.'s rosy relationships with top lib media stars like Nobama and Madam Broomstick causing HIM to be put in embarassing news stories himself. Why not just admit that this incident made the President look bad and that other than new statistics or possible treatments, he really is not needed to crash the event?

As with many doctors on TV, all the attention goes to his head. Doctors should not be talking about projections. They are not math guys who can model numbers. Their job is to cure people.

Fauci sang a different tune under Obama's H1N1 ... 6 months into a year-long pandemic affecting mostly the young and killing school-age children, he still had not recommended closing schools or anything else, for that matter ... the first 4 minutes is all you need to hear ...

Dr FAuci’s “scientific facts” concerning Coronavirus were quite different from his Obama N1H11 facts. Dr Birx did a great job answering the obvious hostile press questions. They kept trying to get her to disagree with the President.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, is a sort of PINO (Physician in name only) who has nursed at the government teat for over 50 years. It is time he received his golden parachute and exited stage left. I can see how that probably isn't going to happen for at least 6 months.

I would guess someone played back the clip of the Presser where he was standing behind the President Rolling his eyes and putting his hand over his mouth to hide a laugh at something the President was saying. That would do it! Apparently, this Little Man thought HE was in charge and forgot it was the President who was running things. It appears he was schooled by someone from the President's Inner Circle (could have even been by the President himself) that it's not how things are run at a Presser. There is a reason Mr. Fauci was always in the back row and not at the Podium! Now he's a Nobody!

I noticed his absence as well, but I also read his interview at this time of crisis!!!!!! When we all should be pulling together and trying hard to find solutions and push hopefulness, he let his ego get in the way. That was my conclusion, and it really has destroyed my admiration for the man.

I actually went to the Google homepage and called up the interview, and it is true: the man had an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT VIEW . The sole difference that I could see his that that virus, killing school children, was under the Obama administration.

After he had added all he could to these important briefings, and had begun to editorialize, he no longer contributed anything of value to the American people. Now the media questioners should be disappeared. They add zero.

Like so many bureaucrats, Fauci thinks that bureaucratic procedure is holy and he is the high priest. This is the same thing we saw with Vindman. Fauci seems to have a bit more common sense than Vindman but is still falling back to bureaucratic and procedural "knowns" for circumstances that don't fit any model. His approach fits typical government where, frankly, most things they do don't matter all that much. Fauci's primary use was to lay out the general case for infectious control, which applies to all infectious situations; cleaning, social distancing, need for specific supplies, etc. His job is mostly done. We get it. I wonder if Fauci would tolerate one of his subordinates making faces and complaining in public about his statements? I doubt it and maybe he should consider that.
This situation matters. It also demands out of the box thinking which most in government are useless at. It also requires generating hope and possibilities and things far beyond a dry medical overview. Trump is trying to be enthusiastic and that is required to minimize panic. Further, Trump has responsibility for things beyond the medical, just as complex and just as important. Most bureaucrats have nowhere near the breadth of capability to deal with the scope required.
And BTW, of COURSE Fauci isn't there because he mouthed off and acted up. It's a subtle correction. Hopefully he is smart enough to learn from it.

When President Reagan was shot and being wheeled into the operating room, he quipped to the surgeons that he hoped they were all republicans. One doctor answered back: today we are.
My experience with physicians suggests that almost universally, they care more about saving lives than about politics. I suspect that is true regarding Dr. Fauci, but his skills when being interviewed are limited to medical matters only.
I am often asked to explain some aspect of epidemics. Individuals who have a passing curiosity. I can tell by the looks on their faces that the answer was more complex than they anticipated and they regretted asking. Or sometimes, I'm asked to explain it again.
In other words, it's complicated. Most people don't need to really know. But an individual without a medical background, someone that needs to understand it, will need to have it explained more than once. That is perfectly normal.

Fauci doesn't get it. When he says " that he has to tell Donald Trump facts four times to get his point across." he's being queried and pressed by an executive to expose assumptions, caveats, alternatives, information not being shared -- what any GOOD executive will do to open up the trade space for the executive to make the decision. Fauci the pedantic martinet is not used to being treated that way! But as we've seen from the Fuci/CDC's attempt to monopolize the Corona Virus tests -- which were faulty and delayed efforts to combat the virus -- Fauci/CDC lost trust and had no grounds to push back when Trump who opened it up to private industry.

I'll tell you where Dr Fauci wasn't...He wasn't on the phone with suppliers trying to get masks, gloves, and gowns to replenish our national stockpile. That stockpile was heavily depleted from the H1N1 virus 6+ years ago.
What was the Director of NIH doing for 6 years?

I honestly believe he thought that the interview with the foreign media would never see the light of day. Trump was right to take the Hildabeest fan off the stage for awhile. Fauci is also fond of hiding behind the term anecdotal as a way to avoid actually finding new therapies for this virus. The French are unbelievably way ahead of us in this, and our medical bureaucracy is moving at glacial speed. Many drugs are being found to work for other conditions for which they were not designed to help. But we have Dr. Fauci and the FDA/NIH not wanting to try these, so they are responsible for the dragging out of many problems with diseases.
