My morning routine for quite a while has been to check the news on Lucianne and Drudge. But since Drudge has gone all wobbly, I began only using it to get to Patrick Buchanan’s site (love to read his columns). Butow I don’t even do that because I don’t want to click on Drudge and improve his score with advertisers.

Too many recognized conservatives have flipped recently for it to be a coincidence. People with strong convictions can be "persuaded" to change their views mostly by threats of physical violence to themselves or loved ones. Money may play into this as well. Remember, the left is capable of anything to get their way. A good site to take a look at in place of Drudge is "The Liberty Daily" (https://thelibertydaily.com/).

Isn't Drudge a friend of Ann Coulter? I seem to recall her mentioning Drudge frequently years ago when I used to listen to her... She's cold on President Trump and the border too. I can't/don't go to DrudgeReport any more. It's a bummer because it was my home page and I'd go there 4-8 times a day. Not any more... I can get the crap on his site on CNN or MSNBC. It's his loss..

One thing we know for certain is that Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge have been friends for decades. We also know that Coulter is virulently anti-Trump...related to,
at least in part, the border issue. I could see where Coulter has an influence on Drudge to the point where he is her mouthpiece.

I have a theory but, of course, I could be completely off the wall. We all know the big secret which isn’t a secret which is that Matt is gay. Perhaps he has a new guy in his life who is a far lefty and is pushing Matt to the left. Who among us, with a new “love” in our life, wouldn’t want to do everything possible to please that person?

We should always be open to the possibility that we are being pandered to as a marketing strategy any time we think we have a voice out there. That sure turned out to be the case with republican politicians we put in office in 2010.

Two months ago I removed Drudge's link from my toolbar after it sat there for over 20 years. If I want my news slanting Left, I'll go to the Huff Puff. Besides the great Lucianne.com there are many, many alternatives equally as good as Drudge once was.
A quick search of any internet engine (I use Duck Duck Go) will reveal that Drudge's father sold RefDesk (the secret holder of Drudge Report) and is involved now --- big time --- with Google, by way of Granite Cubed which is now Voranda. This is a company that sets up digital advertising. But is probably still owned by Google. Don't know.
My guess is that like in any take-over, Drudge (as the original founder) has less and less to say about anything. His name is on the "door" but that's about it.

The simplest solution is that Drudge has been corrupted by money. He, like many others, has sold short on the market. He now needs Trump to lose to make millions, perhaps billions, on his shorts. Every American politician now puts money over patriotism, Drudge is following suit.

Yeah, it had to do with the sale of Drudge Report by Matt's daddy to a Google affiliate. Earlier in 2019 and as part of the transaction, Matt had hooked up with the affiliate who bought daddy's website which is RefDesk. The only reason Matt sold us out and went hard left mainstream was to keep his new advertising agency happy. The advertising agency's is Granite Cubed. It should be no surprise that the slant of Drudge Report shifted to full-frontal establishment approved content at exactly the same time the deal was cut. Maybe somebody else can research Granite Cubed to understand and share who else they work for. I stopped browsing Drudge Report for good last summer when I detected a sudden and serious shift in content and I deleted it from my favorites. And a couple of years ago, I stopped using Google as my browser because of Google spying tactics and went with Duckduckgo.com who does not share browsing habits. Bottom line - just follow the money. Matt, too bad you chose to go to the dark side, bro.

Understand this: If you have a Conservative opinion and a recognized voice, the Liberals in the world will do their best to shut you up and destroy you, or finagle some way to make you betray your philosophy. They will ceaselessly pound on you and your friends and family until you submit.
My Dad was a top Corporate Lawyer. All of his bosses were Democrats and Deep Staters. He was also a bundler for Martin Luther King Jr., and a courier came by once a month to pick up donations he had collected from people who supported civil rights but knew, as my dad did, that they would lose EVERYTHING they had, were it discovered they supported him.
Nothing has changed since then, except the Democrats and Deep Staters have become more visible and arrogant, confident in their eventual victory through their control of all the sources we once trusted: Church, Media, Education. They think they own us, already.
What they own is their eventual and utter destruction. In the Civil War, Lincoln wanted to be merciful. He died for it. But understand, if we survive what's coming, that they evil that we see in the Deep State arises from within us. We must be ever vigilant of our neighbors and of ourselves, or this will happen again.

Perhaps the Lucianne staff might take the lead on asking all L-dotters to suggest some of their popular conservative sites. I know I would enjoy searching through such a list that was compiled by my fellow L-dotters. Of course, Lucianne.com would top everyone's list.

Threats possibly? One can't go out on the town without fear of getting mugged and possibly killed. The Antifa thugs can "Dox" anyone these days and camp outside their home, while the leftist leaning Police (read: Union) sits by in patrol cars until enough "roughing up" has been accomplished. This is why Congresspukes, like Jeff Flake, go to DC only to become totally different animals while surrounded by civil-service-unionistas.

He revealed Isikoff, who had actually done the work on the scandal had spiked the story. Drudge never was a journalist; he was a news aggregator extraordinaire. Matt Drudge in 2016 gave away half of his real estate holdings to Juan Carlos Alvarado, his roommate of eleven years.
Sounds like a break up to me. There are links to a real estate article in the Miami Herald confirming this info. This is the most I have learned about Matt Drudge before. Interesting to say the least.

“Maybe he’s sick of nothing being done on the border”
I get that. After the 2012 election I was also a single issue (illegal immigration) voter. It was my litmus test.
But as the 2016 election drew near, my outlook broadened, eventually distilling into 4 broad issues : 1) internal job displacement due to illegal immigration, 2) external job displacement due to NAFTA (and the then upcoming TPP), 3) centralization of power in DC, and 4) foreign policy that did not put America’s national interest first, resulting in endless war, regime change wars, nation building, and use of America’s military as a mercenary force to advance other countries’ interests.
Triaging these, I then came to the conclusion that the highest priority had to be withdrawal from TPP and stopping the outflow of American wealth and manufacturing jobs to China. Fail to correct those and there would soon be no America left to quibble over.
I would urge Drudge to similarly reevaluate priorities, and acknowledge that even if we might prioritize somewhat differently from Trump, the Trump total package still covers the issues better than any other candidate from either party.

Lucianne has been my 1st stop for years. I'd hit Drudge 5 times a day for updates, but stopped a few months ago. I check him out maybe once a week to see what kind of crap he's aggregating for the low-information voters. I, too, have been going to Liberty. Thank you fellow posters for the other suggestions. I will check them out. Drudge is pretty much dead to me.

I heard he got a new boyfriend and was otherwise occupied. Plus the new guy was liberal & Matt was desiring to please.
That's the story I heard some time. Don't remember where.

#46, 51...So Bob Drudge is the problem. I've been calling him out since I discovered the archives were 'rigged' in favor of Mockingbird Murdoch & Honest James (Sharon Waxman/NY Times/Avatar backdating escapade)

Drudgereport was subjected to formulaization a good four years back. That's when they started driving clicks towards PAYWALL protected sites like Washington Post and New York Times (among others).
That suggested some handsome payoffs to somebody, but it ruined the site. Neither the WashPost nor the NYT have been trustworthy in the slightrest for several decades.
There is very little reason to ever look at Drudgereport ..... you can get most everything somewhere else

No useful information from the article.
From what I have heard here, Drudge left the site, his father sold it to Google and they have nothing to do with it any more.
