Clarence Thomas Says ‘The Modern-Day
Liberal’ Tried To Stop His Career

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas doesn’t blame white supremacists for trying to derail his career — he points his finger at “the modern-day liberal,” a group that includes former Vice President Joe Biden. Thomas expounds on this theme in the upcoming documentary, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” a copy of which was obtained by ABC News Thursday. He spends a lot of time talking about his still controversial confirmation to the Supreme Court by the Senate Judiciary Committee — whose chairman at the time was Democratic Delaware Sen. Biden.

This is one man I admire. Clarence Thomas was a victim of left wing destruction. I remember the hearings of Anita Hill and in my opinion was another Christine Blasey Ford. I felt sorry for him and his family.

Yes, Justice Thomas is exactly right. He has written some very well reasoned and sensible Supreme Court commentaries. Smart man, for certain. And Joe Biden is a mean, nasty, backstabbing, corrupt thug with about a 98 IQ, which is fast fading as he slides into dementia.

American Exceptionalism Will Endure 8 replies

To date, President Trump’s signature accomplishment is not policy-related; it’s cultural. He’s demythologized and deromanticized the idea of America. No longer is the United States great because it’s good, let alone exceptionally good. (Snip)But the astounding thing about American exceptionalism is that it’s not pure myth. It’s not a naïve fantasy (as Donald Trump seems to think) or an arrogant national disposition (as many on the left see it). It’s a historical and contemporary fact. The United States was and remains the greatest and most virtuous country in the world.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg may be out of the hospital after a bout with fever, but that hasn’t stopped the Democrats from prepping the ground for a battle should the Notorious RBG, as the Justice is known to her fans, step down or die before the election. That’s the latest report in the Hill newspaper. It reports that “liberal activists are already calling on President Trump to keep any possible Supreme Court vacancy open until after the 2020 election.” It turns out they’re worried about the Notorious Mitch McConnell, as the Senate majority leader will be called herewith, at least for the moment.

There must’ve been something in the water back in 2012, because everyone on the top of the ballot turned out to be even worse than we originally thought. Barack Obama’s legacy is shot, being destroyed by President Trump and the radical left who now view him (laughably) as a conservative. Joe Biden doesn’t know where he is half the time, the other half has his campaign staff wishing he were somewhere else. Paul Ryan was a feckless Speaker of the House who cut bait and ran once he was free to push all the things he’d sworn for years were his deeply held beliefs.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading a delegation of members of Congress to the annual international climate summit known as COP25 in Madrid, Spain, next week. While the delegation will include members of both the House and Senate, it will not be bipartisan, as only Democrats will be attending. "It is a privilege to accompany a high-level Congressional delegation to Spain to combat the existential threat of our time: the climate crisis," Pelosi said in a statement on Saturday.

If Joe Biden gets the Democratic nomination, it’s a good bet he will select a woman as his running mate. Biden has mentioned four women he might pick. They are Sally Yates, Stacey Abrams, Jeanne Shaheen, and Maggie Hassan. Yates has spent her entire career as a lawyer, not much of a recommendation for the second highest office in the land. Her biggest claims to fame are helping to set up Michael Flynn for prosecution and, as acting attorney general, refusing to enforce Trump administration immigration policy. These actions made her a hero to the Trump resistance. However, they do not recommend her for the second highest office in the land.

The separation of news from opinion was an ingrained part of the culture at The New York Times when I started there in the 1970s. As a young reporter, I knew the rule without understanding its significance. I only knew I was not permitted to express my opinions in my stories. Those were the days when copy was edited by hand and if you veered into editorializing, editors simply crossed out the offending words. You learned of your mistake when you read the paper the next day and realized your opinion was on the cutting-room floor.

Do Americans live in a health care hellscape? A report out this week would seem to indicate as much – but that first impression is deceiving.(Snip)"Medicare-for-all" partisans have pounced on the research to declare the U.S. health care system an expensive failure – one in which we spend more than double what other developed nations devote to health care but die younger. But statistics like these conceal as much as they reveal. A more thorough analysis shows that the American health care system outperforms its counterparts in other countries – particularly those that saddle their citizens with their own versions of “Medicare-for-all.”

A top aide to Kamala Harris gave a damning assessment of the California senator’s struggling campaign in her resignation letter, declaring that she has never seen an organization “treat its staff so poorly” and accused the campaign of encouraging people to move across states -- only to lay them off without notice. “This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Kelly Mehlenbacher, then the state operations director for Harris’ campaign, said in the letter obtained by The New York Times. “While I still believe that Senator Harris is the strongest candidate to win in the General Election in 2020,

The latest hero of the Never Trumpers — the ex-secretary of the Navy, Richard V. Spencer — is out with an op-ed column on what he learned from getting fired. The answer, it appears, is not much. His column, which appears in the Washington Post, turns out to be an exercise in constitutional misconception, self-righteousness, whinging, bellyaching about his superiors, and tin-eared politicking. Mr. Spencer, a Marine, was fired Sunday for misleading Secretary of Defense Esper over the case of Chief Petty Officer Eddie Gallagher. The Navy had accused Gallagher of murdering a war prisoner — and of more than a dozen serious crimes. It turns out, though, that Gallagher

Bad weather on Thanksgiving week can be stressful in the best of circumstances. But this week’s outbreak of TV weather hysteria was a sight to behold. For days on end, even Trump news was booted from the top of the network evening newscasts by dire warnings of the “triple storm danger” heading across the country and the “holiday travel nightmare” likely to result. The reports hit all the usual TV-weather bases: shots of skidding cars and chugging snowplows; airport scenes of passengers stranded by flight delays; Al Roker bounding among the weather maps as though he were plotting a military operation. Understanding mechanical processes may not be my forte, but I have a deep appreciation for them. And what better way to enhance my knowledge then by listening to Tom and Ray (also known as “Click and Clack”) on Saturday morning? These famous hosts

It's always entertaining when famous actors or singers think that we -- normal people -- are curious to know their political views. I mean, we all know that members of Hollywood are generally radically liberal. If they take a political position, it's going to be in favor of abortion, against "climate change," or -- of course -- passionately anti-Trump. Case in point, this op-ed written by actor Robert Redford for NBC News. "We’re up against a crisis I never thought I’d see in my lifetime." Namely: "A dictator-like attack by President Donald Trump on everything this country stands for. As last week’s impeachment hearings made clear, our shared tolerance

She must have looked good enough to eat. A jovial Joe Biden nipped his wife Jill’s finger onstage Saturday at a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as she introduced him at the first stop of an eight-day, 800-mile road trip through the first-to-caucus state. As Jill Biden flung an arm wide to make a point, her husband theatrically dodged her hand — then, on a second pass, gave her a playful chomp on her fingertip. She took the nibble in stride, laughing along with a crowd of about 200 supporters.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday launched his “No Malarkey” bus tour in Iowa, part of a bid to regain momentum among the state’s voters ahead of the nation’s first presidential caucuses. The frontrunner’s eight-day bus tour is part of an effort to sharpen his pitch before the Feb. 3 caucuses as polls have shown Biden slipping in the first-in-the-nation state. The tour will cover 18 counties and is a play on one of Biden’s most well-known phrases. Perhaps most notably it was used in his 2012 vice-presidential debate with then GOP VP hopeful Paul Ryan, when he told his rival that his criticism of the Obama administration’s foreign policy

As one can readily see, Hillary Clinton has been unable to recover from having lost the 2016 presidential election -- a self-inflicted wound that she will never cop to. Or, possibly, an act of divine intervention. She has come up with well over a dozen reasons for her defeat -- every one but the real one, i.e. she is a loser -- not just a sore loser, but a total loser. She is incredibly incompetent, fundamentally dishonest, and criminally corrupt, and these are her good qualities. In addition, she is bereft of a trace of integrity or character, has absolutely no judgment, and is devoid of people skills

Buckingham Palace has been decontaminated. Prince Andrew’s office has been closed down. Any chair he sat in has been reupholstered, all doorknobs swabbed down. Let’s not even talk about the bathrooms. I can’t remember a time when the royal family’s damage control was so swift and absolute. Priests are excommunicated with less haste and more mercy than Andrew in the wake of his disastrous BBC Epstein-related interview, and its ever-cascading fallout. But I detect the odor of scapegoating and hypocrisy in the decisive role that Prince Charles has played in this purge against his brother.

The first Christians were not complainers, Pope Francis said Saturday, because “sad people are not Christians.” “We think of the first Christians, who had everyone against them, who were persecuted and yet they didn’t complain about the world,” the pope told participants in an international conference on evangelization taking place in Rome. “Reading the New Testament, we see that they were not concerned with defending themselves against an empire that put them to death, but with announcing Jesus, even at the cost of their lives,” he said. The pontiff also had strong words against defeatism and pessimism, urging his hearers to be joyful in witnessing to Christ.
