GLAAD Commends Chick-fil-A for
Dropping Donations to Christian
Groups But Demands
Franchise Change ‘Anti-LGBTQ’ Brand

Original Article

Posted By: M2, 11/20/2019 6:48:36 AM

On Monday, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation commended Chick-fil-A for its decision to halt donations to several Christian charities but demanded the fast-food chain do more to change its “anti-LGBTQ” brand. GLAAD said it “greet[s] today’s announcement with cautious optimism” but warned that the Georgia-based company still has work to do to fix its tarnished image with the LGBTQ community. “In addition to refraining from financially supporting anti-LGBTQ organizations, Chick-fil-A still lacks policies to ensure safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees and should unequivocally speak out against the anti-LGBTQ reputation that their brand represents,” GLAAD director of campaigns Drew Anderson said in a statement to CNN.

Comments:

This group is demanding that Chick-fil-A rebrand themselves in accordance with their wishes. Does Chick-fil-A really think the customers won’t punish them for this?

I would hope that Chick-Fil-a can see that when you give these Q's an inch, they start demanding the next inch. If every 'Q' orders a sandwich tomorrow, it won't be as many as you'll lose from your regular customers. Maybe they should just reverse this bad decision and hope people forget.

I don’t understand this change. Business is booming for them and their stance is the proper one. Why buckle under this pressure when they are winning the argument by sticking to their principles. It’s like leading a football game 56-0 with one minute to go in the game and deciding to forfeit.

And, especially The Salvation Army, who has always been a charity that is totally above board and straight (in the normal meaning of the word) and helps everyone. I went to Mac Donald's yesterday and the young man at the counter - maybe sixteen or so - was wearing dark nail polish and earrings and I tried to act as if I did not notice and it was perfectly normal and just with respect. They should treat others with respect too.

Chick fil A is great chicken and I enjoy it quite often. But they blew this PR move. Chick fil A gave an inch and they are going to want to take a mile and they will never let go. Sort of like a snapping turtle chomping down on your fingers. They will never unlock their jaws. It's chicken. If they don't want to buy it then don't buy it. The only thing I have ever heard from Chick fil A is the founder or CEO (not sure exactly who it was) stated he thought marriage was between a man and a woman. That's it. He did not say homosexuals (or whatever you call yourself today) should be jailed, thrown off a 3 story building, shunned and denied service or anything else. So get your head out of your genitals and buy the chicken and enjoy or don't. Chaos is being caused over your feelings and I don't care about your feelings.

It's about money! They need to change their image by virtue signalling like every other corporartion so they can make more money through expansion. Giving money to meaningless generic charities to ambiguous causes with hard to pin down goals. Corporate double speak. They want to expand here and overseas and the EU and other oh so woke places are bucking. Instead of just being happy with their success and sticking with integrity and the Christian values that brought them to this dance, they are switching partners to make more money. "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. When I first heard about this, I didn't understand the reasons for it. Why risk your brand, which is doing great not withstanding the gay mafia's complaints? They have been complaining for years. It hasn't hurt their business. The only reason that made any sense is that they have some "social justice warriors" in their executive corps. And it doesn't matter to them if it hurts business. Social justice warrioring is meant to damage the country. Period. And that takes precedence over profits.

CFA needs to reread their Bible again. If they are truly Christian in their corporate belief, they should realize that they can love the sinner, but still hate the sin. As God Himself does and says. But these Leftists will not be happy until CFA is total scorched earth and nothing but burning cinders. And then they STILL won't be happy. You cannot negotiate with terrorists CFA, but you can lose the people who have supported you all these years in the face of the attacks of the evil minded. So CFA, whose face would you rather slap? A tiny but noisy minority of population who are not even customers nor will ever be, or the stalwart Christians who do support you? Don't converge now CFA.

I read comments yesterday with the pretzel-twisted logic that the Salvation Army was dumped because they are too pro-gay. Their mission statement says they serve all in need, no matter what they are, including sexual orientation. Sounds pretty Christ-like to me. There was no SA endorsement of homosexual activity, just a commitment to serve the people who walk through their doors. Chick-Fil-A dumped the charity recipients the gay lobby had previously whined about. That cannot be a coincidence.

I live by this, I pay attention to tv ads and look at who companies are trying to appeal to or target. Example a car commercial is accompanied by rappers and jungle beat noise so I figure that's their target group not me. I won't buy that product. If Chick-fil-A wants to appease the Q-crowd then I hope CFA can make profits off the perverts because I won't darken their doorway ever. Cracker Barrel did this a few years back for the Q-crowd and I quit going there. A business should be wise in their target crowd or suffer the profit loses. Is a small splinter crowd really worth the attention and loss of profits?

For the last few years, CfA has been my "go to" for fast food. I have eaten there 2-3 times a week, and have been known to go 25-30 miles out of my way to eat at one. Yes, partially it was because of those really yummy chicken sandwiches and great customer service. But, far more so, I went to support a company that stood by it's values, which were the same as my values. I will still eat at CfA if they are close by and it's lunch time. I really do like their food. But I will never drive out of my way to get to a CfA again. They caved!!! It's that simple. I doubt my $50 a month they won't be getting will make much a dent in their bottom line. But I have the feeling that I may not be the only one eating there less than I used to...

As USMCA negotiations drag on, Texas Democrats Vicente Gonzalez and Filemon Vela urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to press Mexico for firm security commitments in the war on Mexican cartels to protect U.S. trade and tourism. “We can no longer afford to be silent. This trade pact is critical to our economy and we need to get this right or risk standing in the way of our own economic success,” Gonzalez said in the release. The representatives, who serve in districts that border Mexico, warned Pelosi in the letter that “while business and individuals alike have taken steps to mitigate the risks, including paying a protection fee to criminal

One symptom of a society in crisis is the unreliability or even corruption of its own auditors. After all, when the watchmen have lost moral authority to watch, who can be believed or trusted? Or, as the Roman satirist Juvenal famously put it, “Who will guard the guardians?” It was recently reported that FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith altered an email to bolster a suspicious FBI effort to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrant authorizing the surveillance of Carter Page, a onetime employee of the Trump campaign.

The Deep State is once again trying to damage President Trump with selective leaks to the left-wing media. Two ‘sources’ who had intelligence briefings (Obama holdovers) about the strike that killed Iranian military officials leaked portions of the briefings to the New York Times in order to push the narrative that President Trump authorized a drone strike that killed top Irancommander Soleimani with “razor thin” evidence that an attack on American targets was imminent.Follow this thread from Rukmini Callimachi of the New York Times: The ‘sources’ claimed Soleimani’s travel to Syria, Lebanon and Iraq

While laying out a case for President Donald Trump’s impeachment during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Kasie DC” on Sunday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) raised questions about Trump’s mental health as one of her arguments. Waters called Trump “a liar” and told host Kasie Hunt there were issues dealing with the president’s mental health, noting psychiatrists have previously diagnosed him from afar. “[W]e know several things about this president,” she said. “We know he’s a liar. We know that it has been documented by The Washington Post that he’s lied thousands of times. I think it’s over 15,000 times that they’ve actually documented. We know that there is a matter of trust.

When the news broke about the death of Qassem Soleimani in an American airstrike, it was inevitable that the Democrats and the media would denounce the action and once again declare President Trump unfit for office. More surprising was the opprobrium heaped on the raid and its underlying rationale by Tucker Carlson. The Fox News host is usually fairly sensible, if given to the hyperbole and simulated indignation required by the talking head genre. Moreover, he tends to be supportive of the President and his policies. Carlson’s response to the Soleimani killing, however, was uninformed, uncharacteristically hostile to Trump, and generally unhinged.

I know, I know. The homeless smell bad sometimes. They look scary, with layers of clothing and dirty hands. They litter our streets with cardboard boxes, fast-food wrappers and empty bottles. They sleep on sidewalks or in tents under bridges, testing sanitation limits. It sounds pretty awful, I admit. This is the picture you and I see in our cities and towns. It makes us want to turn away and escape to our tidy houses. It makes us angry, too. Most of us work or worked when we were younger. Most of us portion out our paychecks for housing, food, clothing and occasional recreation.

Weirdly absent from much of the professional speculation about where and how Iran will exact its promised “severe revenge” for the U.S. drone strike killing of Quds Force Gen. Qassem Suleimani is mention of the dead man’s highly suggestive hint. During a time of intense saber rattling between Iran and President Donald Trump in July 2018, Suleimani gave a speech during which he called out the American president: “Mr. Gambler, Trump! I’m telling you that we are close to you, exactly where you wouldn’t think that we are.” So what might Suleimani have meant when he suggested his reach was closer than we think? You’d never know it from New York

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — In a rare display of emotion from the typically reserved and measured supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cried openly Monday at the funeral of slain Gen. Qassem Soleimani, his most important military commander with whom he shared a deep bond. “Oh Allah, they are in need of your mercy, and you are exalted above punishing your servants,” Khamenei said in prayer as he stood over a flag-draped casket with the remains of Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Iraq on Friday. Khamenei’s voice cracked under the weight of the

The assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani is an unusual, possibly aberrant, event. The killing of this individual leader of a sovereign state may lead to all-out war between Iran and the U.S. — or, on the other hand, the assassination may bring an end to the cycle of Iranian violence countered by U.S. and world diplomatic flatulence and appeasement. (snip) the Iranians have been in an undeclared war with the U.S. since the ayatollahs and their religiously inspired and power-mad henchmen took over the reins of government from the despotic but pro-American Shah in the seventies.

George Lopez doubled down Sunday on the bounty Iran has put on President Trump — for half. The comedian replied to another Instagram user’s post Sunday that Iran had offered $80 million to any person who assassinated Mr. Trump’s “during the televised funeral of General #QasemSoleimani after he was assassinated last week.” Mr. Lopez replied: “We’ll do it for half.” As of 10:40 p.m. Sunday had received almost 350 replies and nearly 1,200 “like” reactions. Some of the reaction was outrage though. “@SecretService should take a look at this. The Left is sick,” Ryan Fournier, founder and co-chairman of Students for Trump, wrote on Twitter.

A stampede broke out in the massive crowds attending the funeral of Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian military commander slain in a US drone strike, killing dozens of people and postponing the burial ceremony, Iranian state television reported on Tuesday. The chaos erupted in Soleimani’s hometown of Kerman where tens of thousands of mourners packed the streets for the funeral procession of the slain Quds Force general. It wasn’t clear what prompted the stampede, but video of the scene showed people lying in the street as others rushed to their aid. Iranian state media reported that as many as 40 people were killed
