A case for exploring Colin
Kaepernick in Tampa Bay

TAMPA — From the moment the NFL announced its hasty plan for a Colin Kaepernick workout this weekend, the questions have been flying. After all this time, why the sudden rush? Did some team request this? How many general managers will show up? Is this simply a ploy for atonement by the NFL? Yet, around here, a more important question needs to be asked: Can Kaepernick help the Buccaneers? It’s an interesting and legitimate question with, at this point, no clear answer. Kaepernick has not been in an NFL uniform in nearly three years so it’s worth wondering if his skills have atrophied.

Comments:

Yeah, hiring Paperneck will cause the fans to flock into Raymond James Stadium. Not. Romano just doesn't grok that CK's heart most definitely is not in the right place, and that fans won't support any team that fields this anti-American fanatic.

Not everyone agrees that CK deserves a look. https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bucs/2019/11/15/bruce-arians-on-colin-kaepernick-hes-32-with-a-bad-shoulder/ Sports fans aren't inclined to support social justice warriors who hate America. CK should go to the EU and try to make one of those minor league teams. He'll fit right in.

Kaepernick cannot help ANY team. That includes the Bucs. The guy has an extremely bad reputation that goes way beyond football. He could be better than Tom Brady (he isn't). It won't matter. Any team that picks him up is committing suicide.

I doubt there is any NFL team in need of Colin cancer, especially when in six months, there will be plenty of quality quarterbacks in the draft to choose from.

Clever scheme by a group of fans to empty the statium so they have choice seats. I overheard the plan in the restroom where a guy mentioned to another guy that he'd been walking past an open janitor's closet and heard someone on phone say that he'd heard bot the olan from his mddle school kid. Colon has already repeatedly stated that unless he is offered a franchise QB position, he's not interested. And unless there is a behind the scenes offer already on the table, I strongly doubt he will even show up for this "Workout".

You can count on one hand the top tier QBs in the NFL. Colin Kaepernick isn't one of them and never was. Is Kaep the guy that strikes terror in your heart when his team has the ball in the last two minutes and needs a score to beat your team a la John Elway back in the day? Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees and Tom Brady for sure. A healthy Ben Roethlisberger; definitely. Patrick Mahomes, time will tell. The rest of the pack are just a bunch of Jay Cutler clones.

His skills have not atrophied - they were very limited to begin with. His abilities were unique at a time but when defenses adapted he was headed for obscurity. Knowing that he had to reinvent his relevancy ie. taking the social justice warrior path. He really doesn't want to play again, he just wants attention - like the spoiled little whiney baby he is.

Bloomberg editors have noticed that the world is on fire. There are demonstrations and unrest in Lebanon, Chile, Spain, Iraq, Sudan, Russia, Uganda, Peru, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, Venezuela and others. That "other" is Iran, where the Internet has been shut down and rampaging protesters are burning down the Central Bank. Hong Kong at least deserves a separate mention. It is really the bellwether for the fate of China. The Chinese government may be edging toward their Tienanmen moment in the former British colony. On Friday, Attorney General William P. Barr delivered the 19th Annual Barbara K. Olson Memorial Lecture at the Federalist Society's 2019 National Lawyers Convention. "One of the ironies of today is that those who oppose this President constantly accuse this Administration of “shredding” constitutional norms and waging a war on the rule of law. LGBT activists have weaponized two scientific societies to cut off a major Mormon university from their international community of scientists. The American Geophysical Union (AGU) in Washington, D.C., and the Geological Society of America (GSA) in Colorado pulled job ads from Brigham Young University (BYU) after facing complaints over BYU's Honor Code, which prohibits homosexual conduct among students and staff. This is unlikely to stop with the AGU and GSA and is likely to lead to blacklisting far more schools than just BYU. LGBT activists complained that the geological societies had listed a job posting from BYU on their job boards.

Nov. 12 -- The Supreme Court of Florida on Tuesday rejected an appeal for a stay of execution for a death row inmate convicted of killing a 14-year-old girl in 1985. James Dailey was sentenced to death in 1987 for killing Shelly Boggio, whose body was found over 30 years ago stabbed, strangled, drowned and naked floating in waters off Indian Rocks Beach in Pinellas County. In a 21-page ruling, the justices rejected the appeal for post-conviction relief. Dailey filed the appeal claiming innocence among other objections in September following Gov. Ron DeSantis signing his death warrant. In the appeal, Dailey, 73, claimed that new evidence proved Boggio was killed

CNN reports that in a private meeting this week, top Democrats conceded that the polls on impeachment were unlikely to shift, and that their basic message is failing to break through for huge swaths of Americans. This is very close to admitting that their ultimate goal, of removing president Trump from office will not be achieved. The reason this would mean game over for the removal effort is that only a significant uptick for impeachment in polling, especially among Republicans who have been rock solid in support of Trump, could lead to GOP votes to convict in the senate.
