A familiar sight during the holiday season is the iconic red kettle used by The Salvation Army for donations. Volunteers stand next to the kettle and ring a bell as passersby walk into grocery stores or retail stores. Who would protest when a British singer announced her agreement to partner with the international charity? The perpetually outraged Twitter mob, of course. Singer Ellie Goulding set off a firestorm on social media among LGBTQ activists when she posted the announcement of her collaboration with the Christian charity. She agreed to sing as the halftime act for the Dallas Cowboys – Buffalo Bills Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

If she can"t take the heat from her political friends, she shouldn't make deals with Jerry Jones.
If players on his team have "social justice" interests, they set them aside amd put playing football for the team first, and if they want to pursue those interests, they do it on THEIR OWN TIME.

Why do LGBTQ feel the need to be singled out? Why can't the Salvation Army say " We help all in need" and leave it at that instead of having a "special" category for the LGBTQ activists?

Think I'll continue with helping my local animal rescue groups/shelters and wildlife rehab facility. No LGBTQ issues with animals in need.

Just to set things straight. (Helping all in need) is exactly what The Salvation Army does without discrimination towards anyone! Someone here does not understand.
This all came about when Goulding accepted the invitation to sing the National Anthem at a football game for the Salvation Army. The LGBTQ community immediately attacked her solely because the Salvation Army is a Christian charity and for no other reason. The Salvation Army had to come back and specifically explain they DO NOT DISCRIMINATE! If not for uneducated LGBTQ attacking without knowing the record of the organization this would have never come up.
By the way, please put a little in the bucket every time you pass one this season.

Some years ago, as my nieces and nephews grew into adulthood, I began replacing Christmas gifts for them with a donation in their names to the Salvation Army. I love them for their strong Christian tradition, and for the strong history of beautiful music. Their brass arrangements are tops. For your listening and viewing pleasure, here is a beautiful, soothing collection of Christmas carols by S. A. bands.

When have LGBTQ groups ever offered charity instead of antipathy to people who aren't like them? Christians do every day. Conservatives do. Chick-Fil-A does!
But we tolerate scorn from people who are only out to pleasure themselves. No more.

How is this a win? All I heard was the same old politically correct explanation provided by every organization that does not want to offend the perpetually offended. The many homeless LGBTQ people are homeless for a reason.

I, too, would like to see the LGBTQ challenged to show if they have ever established charity programs for ALL people, including straight Republicans!
What a sad bunch of hypocrites...

“On Nov. 8, an anonymous donor dropped a 1-ounce “Gold Eagle” coin, worth between $1,200 and $1,500, into a red kettle at a Hobby Lobby in Crystal Lake, the Salvation Army said in a statement Wednesday.”
I don’t think that it is a coincidence that it happened outside a Hobby Lobby. The left treats Hobby Lobby the same way they treat Chick-fil-A, both Christian owned companies which are closed on Sunday.

Ms. Goulding should have done a little fact checking or research about the Salvation Army before she made her demands. All that she and the alphabet people she was pandering to accomplished in this case was to make themselves look like small, closed minded bigots who just assume that because an organization is Christian that it could not possibly want to help LGBTQ alphabet types of people. Once again, the intolerant left has shown their true colors. Also, the Cowboys should have told Ms. Goulding, thank-you, we will get another more inclusive singer for the Thanksgiving half-time show.

I always put in some money in the bucket for the Salvation Army, not so much for most other charities.
United Way lost my support decades ago, I never send them anything.

They started out as just wanting "acceptance". But now they are feeling empowered, and want to bully and force their demented lifestyle upon everyone.

Did anyone else catch this? "“It was very exciting to start the kettle season by finding a gold coin in the very first kettle we processed,” Major Barbara Owen, corps officer at The Salvation Army Crystal Lake Corps Community Center, said." George Bernard Shaw wrote a play called "Major Barbara" about a woman who joined the Salvation Army, which has had many productions and also was made into a movie.

Since I have not watched a down of the NFL since the racist players started to disrespect our flag and country, and the NFL owners didn't squash this evil in the bud, and I never will watch again, I really don't care who sings at their games!!!!
Heck, just show their true colors and burn a few flags and Bibles at halftime!!! At least it would be honest and a lot cheaper!!!

This has been a very big deal in the North Texas area, and Ms. Golding didn't get much support for her demand.
