Young Americans' Date with Socialism

Original Article

Universities in America have finally accomplished convincing young adults to abandon the most successful and free form of government in favor of a system that has a historical failure rate of 100%. It is a sobering reminder of how successful the propaganda of the leftist media and higher education system has been when one realizes that socialism is viewed by nearly half of the millions of young Americans as a sociable way of life — a better way of life where they feel people work together for the good of everyone, where the wealth generated by the sweat of the worker...

The brainwashing of our college-educated young people has metastasized.

I always thought I’d be taking a dirt nap by the time the Republic went all Thelma and Louise. No longer. I think I’ll be around now for the closing ceremonies....too bad. We had a good run though.

Yet, at the Alabama/LSU game he was cheered wildly. Our military, deeply comprised of our young, are wild about him as well. Hyperbole from either side is not useful. It widens the gap between Americans, and allows the dems to divide and conquer our fellow citizens. From my own experience it looks like there is a backlash building by the young against the dems.

Just think. When your old and infirm and living in assisted living, these are the people who'll be taking care of you.

The answer is very simple. If you wish to live under Socialist Rule, Fine. You just can't do it here. I hear Europe is lovely this time of year, not to mention Cuba, Nicaragua, etc.

I think that all universities should require students to spend a semester living and studying in Russia or China-using student visas (or whatever the commies issue) to qualify for graduation. This will reinforce their desire to live in a communist country and validate their pre-conceived notions about the happy life to be had! /s/

I tell my left leaning daughter that with both of us living a normal lifespan (we have good age genes--into the 90s on both sides), she'll have to live with communism much longer than I will. Because she is my daughter and her children will also be my children, I find very little comfort in making that statement to her. It amazes me that a relatively few fools will completely destroy this great nation and turn it into what PDT said.

President Trump has used emergency powers during the coronavirus pandemic to implement the kind of strict enforcement regime at the U.S. southern border he has long wanted, suspending laws that protect minors and asylum seekers so that the U.S. government can immediately deport them or turn them away. Citing the threat of “mass, uncontrolled cross-border movement,” the president has shelved safeguards intended to protect trafficking victims and persecuted groups, implementing an expulsion order that sends migrants of all ages back to Mexico in an average of 96 minutes. U.S. Border Patrol agents do not perform medical checks when they encounter people crossing into the country.

Sen. Mitt Romney delivered perhaps the most thorough Republican rebuke of President Trump’s Syria withdrawal Thursday, calling Trump’s abandonment of the Kurds there “a bloodstain on the annals of American history.” But while that line will get a lot of play, there’s something else Romney said that shouldn’t escape notice. He also floated a theory about how Trump arrived at the decision: that he got bullied into it by Turkey and that he backed down.

America is fighting a culture war and the Progressive Left is the aggressor. The latest front was opened on June 21 when the House of Representatives passed the so-called “Equality Act,” which would allow boys who self-identify as girls to compete in school sports as girls. Conservatives point to the Democrats’ embrace of transgender ideology as further evidence the party has gone off the rails, but typically left unexplained is how and why Leftists get to the positions they hold. Here is an attempt to do that. It has three parts.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared Friday that inequality is a preexisting health condition and that minority and low-income communities should receive coronavirus relief in the form of reparations. “COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities,” the New York democratic socialist tweeted to her 6.6 million followers. “Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions. “Inequality is a comorbidity,” she wrote. “COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations.”(Snip) “We’re kind of creating a class and race issue,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said on WNYC’s “The Brian Lehrer Show,”
Anthony Fauci goes nuts 51 replies

Anthony Fauci, the medical professional at the eye of the coronavirus storm, has just come out and said the federal government should issue a national order for all Americans to stay home, stay inside, stay put. Is he nuts? Let’s rephrase: He’s nuts. On CNN, Fauci was asked by host Anderson Cooper, “Knowing the science, does it make sense to you that some states are still not issuing stay-at-home orders? I mean, whether there should be a federally mandated directive for that or not, I guess that’s more of a political question, but just scientifically, doesn’t everybody have to be on the same page with this stuff?” And Fauci said — yep.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Friday released a letter with Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) calling on President Trump to comply with the oversight requirements Congress attached to the $2.2 trillion coronavirus relief package signed into law last week. “With trillions of taxpayer dollars being spent, it is critically important for the Administration to ensure full transparency and willingness for independent oversight,” Romney and Tester wrote in the April 3 letter to Trump.

We are living through an extraordinary and unprecedented time. It has required us to readjust our lives, our expectations and our plans. The business of politics is no exception. There's been a lot written over these last few days that this upending of normalcy is taking a toll on former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign. After all, in a non-COVID19 world, Biden would be having a great few weeks. Since his big win in South Carolina, Biden had been on a rout — winning big states and small, and building an insurmountable delegate lead. The political news media would be focused on his success.

ABC’s Nightline has returned to its old timeslot with a larger audience after late local news (instead of after Jimmy Kimmel Live). On Wednesday’s show, co-host Byron Pitts ended an interview with Vice President Mike Pence by asking him “not in a political way,” but whether he “talk[s] to God” about feeling remorse for Americans who have died “because of steps the federal government did not take soon enough.”So here we had a journalist ask the Vice President if he prays to the Lord with a heart of repentance for having been responsible for dead Americans. Surely, Chuck Todd would be proud of that question.
Why the USS Roosevelt’s
Captain Had To Be Relieved

The decision of American Navy to relieve the captain who warned publicly of coronavirus on his nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strikes us as the right move. We get that it’s a sad setback for an officer in an incredible command. The minute we read the captain’s letter about the crisis on United States Ship Theodore Roosevelt, though, we saw it as a breach on a matter that should have been kept within the chain of command. That’s easy to say, we understand, for a newspaper whose landlubber of an editor can’t go to Jones Beach without getting seasick. We’ve followed the reports that Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) certainly has a way of rewriting history. Pelosi appeared on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell today with Mitchell about a Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) that impeachment may have slowed down the federal response to the Wuhan coronavirus. It’s a good question because Democrats have prioritized their quest to get the president any way they can since he was elected and they have never counted the cost of that effort. While Trump responded immediately in January, Democrats were completely focused on their continuing narrative against Trump. The virus to them was just another avenue to try to attack Trump,

U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russia investigation is putting increased scrutiny on former CIA Director John Brennan, searching for any undue influence he may have had during 2017’s intelligence community assessment of Russian interference. Durham, selected by Attorney General William Barr last year to lead this inquiry, drove to Washington, D.C., in March to ensure the investigation stayed on track during the coronavirus outbreak. The top Connecticut federal prosecutor is looking into highly sensitive issues, including whether Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

On Thursday, The New York Times published a story suggesting that the South is uniquely dangerous for the spread of the coronavirus. Michael Barbaro, host of the Times podcast "The Daily," shared the map with the text, "In a word....The South." Yet both the NYT article and Barbaro's tweet ignored basic realities about American life that help explain the reasons behind the map — and show that the South is not a uniquely dangerous region during this crisis. In the article, "Where America Didn't Stay Home Even as the Virus Spread," James Glanz dissects cellphone location data from the data intelligence firm Cuebiq.

NEW YORK — Such were the expectations for the Navy hospital ship U.S. Naval Ship Comfort that when it chugged into New York Harbor this week, throngs of people, momentarily forgetting the strictures of social distancing, crammed together along Manhattan’s west side to catch a glimpse. On Thursday, though, the huge white vessel, which officials had promised would bring succor to a city on the brink, sat mostly empty, infuriating local hospital executives. The ship’s 1,000 beds are largely unused, its 1,200-member crew mostly idle.
