The United States on Thursday called for “serious steps” to be taken after Iran resumed uranium enrichment at its underground Fordo plant in a new step back from its commitments under a 2015 nuclear deal. “Iran’s expansion of proliferation-sensitive activities raises concerns that Iran is positioning itself to have the option of a rapid nuclear breakout,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement. “It is now time for all nations to reject this regime’s nuclear extortion and take serious steps to increase pressure.” Iran resumed uranium enrichment at its underground Fordo plant south of Tehran on Thursday

Comments:

While Congress is asleep at the wheel, Iran moves forward with becoming a possible global terrorist threat.

I've always wondered why we think it should take decades or more for the Mullahs in Iran to come up with a nuclear bomb. We had some pretty smart folks with what today would be considered antiquated methods come up with the first nuclear weapons from scratch in four or five years. While they were geniuses and perhaps the hand on God on their side to fight evil, I'm thinking a bunch of educated mullahs with modern equipment and a substantial knowledge base can do it almost as quickly.

The truth be known Iran has been positioning itself for a rapid nuclear breakout from the get-go. The billion and a half dollars in non-traceable currency that former President Obama and his crew handed to Iran just assisted them further in their nuclear endeavors and to support Middle East terrorism. The big question should be how much of that currency actually landed in either the foreign bank accounts or into the pockets of non-Iranians who facilitated all that money being handed to Iran?

IMO, Iran has been very close to, or actually have, a nuclear weapon for some time. This pretending not to be spinning centrifuges is all baloney. Iran's concentrating the uranium would allow them to build the simplest, easiest to make, and most likely to work design, similar to our first atomic bomb, Little Boy, used on Hiroshima. Plutonium bombs are far harder to build. More modern design could get the size down to a relatively large bomb, at least 1.5 - 2 tons weight, most likely. I never believed that Iran even slowed, let alone stopped, their nuclear weapons program, regardless of the lies that they told Obama and his stupid minions. And Obama funded a lot of it with pallets and pallets of cash. Obama financially assisted them in getting their nuke. And Valerie Jarrett, super close advisor to Obama, was born in Iran and lived there in her early years. She hates the USA and loves Iran, and almost to a certainty, helped them get nuclear weapons. All this "treaty" BS was to get the economic sanctions removed so Iran could finish their nukes. NO surprise inspections, almost no inspections at all. The agreement was a sham, totally. And the Euroweenies fell for it. President Trump did not.

The United Nations' nuclear watchdog reported Monday that its inspectors have discovered uranium particles of a man-made origin "at a location in Iran not declared to the agency," confirming allegations made earlier by Israel and the United States. The International Atomic Energy Agency did not identify the site in the confidential quarterly report that was distributed to member states and seen by The Associated Press. An IAEA meeting last week included discussions about an undeclared site on the outskirts of Tehran that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described to the UN General Assembly in 2018 as a "secret atomic warehouse."

Literally nothing is going right for President Trump in his ongoing tax battle. Trump was handed another loss in his fight to block Congress from seeing his tax returns on Monday when a federal judge threw out his lawsuit regarding New York state. Trump had tried to preemptively stop Congress' Ways and Means Committee from seeing the returns after a New York law would've allowed them to do so, but the Washington, D.C. judge said it was the wrong place to do it, NBC News reports. Earlier this year, New York passed a law mandating state tax officials release certain federal officials' tax returns if the House Ways and Means Committee,

Scores of dams in the U.S. are in poor or unsatisfactory condition, according to an Associated Press analysis of federal and state data. The AP found in its two-year investigation that 1,688 dams were classified as high-hazard, meaning their failure could result in people’s deaths, and that thousands of people are at risk. The AP examined data on dams in 44 states and Puerto Rico, noting that the other states cited exemptions from public records requests or said they did not have the ability or authority to assess dams. It noted that Georgia has the highest number of high-hazard dams at more than 200.

Starving North Koreans are facing a miserable winter following a poor harvest, experts have warned. The secretive state, which is already facing food shortages, has had a poor crop as a result of drought followed by widespread flooding. Crop analysts from monitoring group Geoglam, using satellite images, say this year's harvest is the smallest in five years, with the so-called "cereal bowl" in the south of the country badly hit. Despite 70% of North Koreans being reliant on rations, which were cut in May, dictator Kim Jong-un continues to plough resources into his nuclear weapons programme. As young Americans are losing an understanding of civics and American history, they increasingly embrace socialism. An annual poll conducted for the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation again found that the younger generations have a far sunnier view of socialism and communism than their elders. Oxford professor Nicola Gardini urges people to read and study Latin. He believes that Latin is the antidote for the modern age, which seems transfixed by the spontaneous, the easy, and the ephemeral. His new book, Long Live Latin: The Pleasures of a Useless Language, argues that Latin combines truth and beauty with the timelessness of art. People should study Latin for all the reasons people should read literature. In his Confessions, St. Augustine (354–430 C.E.) “placed the learning of Latin under God’s purview,” Gardini writes. Augustine believed Latin drew a child closer to God, “the truest truth.” Gardini argues that Latin contains the logic and precision of math

There is zero respect for any guest with a politically incorrect opinion. They slobbered over Chelsea Clinton as if she were the Queen of England and attacked Donald Trump Jr.
