ABC sources confirmed to us they’ve informed counterparts at rival CBS about the staffer “as a courtesy.”

It was January 1975, and San Diego was making big news in the New York Times, as violence from a notorious polygamous cult spilled into the county from Baja California.... The senior ministers of the Israeli government met twice last week to discuss the possibility of open war with Iran. They were mindful of the Iranian plan for a drone attack from Syria in August, aborted at the last minute by an Israeli air strike, as well as Iran’s need to deflect attention from the mass protests against Hezbollah’s rule in Lebanon. The ministers also reviewed the recent attack by Iranian drones and cruise missiles on two Saudi oil installations, reportedly concluding that a similar assault could be mounted against Israel from Iraq.

Mark S. Zaid, the attorney representing the so-called “whistleblower” in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, tweeted in 2017 that the “coup has started,” adding that “impeachment will follow ultimately.” (Tweet)Zaid was referring to the firing of Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, who refused to defend President Trump’s executive order barring travel to the U.S. from terror-prone countries that had been identified as such under the Obama administration. Yates later claimed that there was no constitutional basis for defending the order in court, but the order (later amended twice) was upheld in the U.S. Supreme Court due to the president’s wide prerogatives over immigration.

How to win an election, apparently.

The notion that the Ukraine “whistleblower” is somehow entitled to anonymity was probably first peddled by the Flat Earth Society. It is a myth and demonstrably so.
It is understandable why unscrupulous Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., have perpetuated the canard. As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee – which is presiding over the current impeachment “witch hunt” – Schiff is determined to conceal his own involvement with the faux “whistleblower” and his subsequent deceit about those machinations.
But it is incomprehensible why most of the media have failed to expose the hoax. Likely driven by their abiding liberal bias and pervasive laziness, they have simply accepted as scripture

Sea level rise is set to challenge human civilization for centuries to come, even if internationally agreed climate goals are met and planet-warming emissions are then immediately eliminated, researchers have found.
The lag time between rising global temperatures and the knock-on impact of coastal inundation means that the world will be dealing with ever-rising sea levels into the 2300s, regardless of prompt action to address the climate crisis, according to the new study.
Even if governments meet their commitments from the landmark 2015 Paris climate agreement, the first 15-year period of the deal will still result in enough emissions

This was referring not only to the financial, but also to the political, legal, and moral bankruptcy of the Democratic Socialist Party and its organs of mass disinformation. But who could have foreseen that the route the Democrats would take would be in the form of self-destruction?On Halloween, the full House of Representatives finally voted to legalize the impeachment investigation, which was unlawfully conducted by the Schiff-Nadler-Pelosi trio. By a majority vote, the House approved the rules for an impeachment inquiry.

He spoke on CBS’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Nov. 1 and said Clinton’s alleged victim Juanita Broaddrick “credibly” accused the former president of rape and that the accusation was “overdue for revisiting.”

This column about the latest slam-Trump-fest-funeral was written 10.29.2019. I have waited until now to post it, out of semi-respect for the dead. Rev. Hillary went all lapsed-Methodist on us about Elijah Cummings. She eulogized the civil rights hero thus: “Like the prophet, our Elijah could call down fire from heaven…and like that Old Testament prophet, he stood against the corrupt leadership of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.” The assembled mourners understood her not-so-subtle insult to President and Mrs. Trump and erupted with cheers and applause. Everyone, that is, Please split wide headlines.

It’s been two decades, but I still remember the excitement of helping to pass California’s Proposition 227, which I thought would rescue Spanish-speaking kids from an education ghetto of frustration and failure. It was an uphill battle. We fought an education bureaucracy including California’s powerful teachers’ unions, book publishers who received lucrative government contracts, and even Jerry Perenchio, the late Republican billionaire CEO of Univision, who donated $1.5 million to the efforts to maintain California’s “bilingual” education system.
We won. Sixty-one percent of Californians were ready for a change.

Voters in Tucson, Arizona had to make a decision yesterday about Prop 205. The measure would have designated their municipality as the only sanctuary city in the state, placing significant restrictions on police in terms of when they can check on the immigration status of suspects. Supporters of the measure also said it would make the city a more “welcoming” place to (presumably illegal) immigrants. Tucson’s progressives that had pushed for the referendum described it as something that would “send a strong message to Donald Trump.”

Preliminary results are in for the Seattle City Council election, and it appears far-left candidates who were expected to be hostile to business interests have faltered after Amazon dumped more than a million dollars into the race in October.
Self-proclaimed socialist Kshama Sawant, an incumbent from the city's 3rd District, trailed her more moderate challenger Egan Orion by about eight points as of Wednesday morning.
Orion celebrated his lead with supporters Tuesday night and said he was "90% confident" that he'd hold onto it, The Seattle Times reported.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved removing Dr. Martin Luther King’s name from one of the city’s most historic boulevards, less than a year after the city council decided to rename The Paseo for the civil rights icon.
Unofficial results vote showed the proposal to remove King’s name received nearly 70% of the vote, with just over 30% voting to retain King’s name.
The debate over the name of the 10-mile (16.1 kilometer) boulevard on the city’s mostly black east side began shortly after the council’s decision in January

If you were on social media last night, you probably saw a lot of folks on the left celebrating that Kentucky, a deep red state, “had turned blue” because of the razor-thin victory of Democrat Andy Beshear over incumbent Republican Matt Bevin.
Let me just get it out of the way right now and tell you that Kentucky isn’t turning blue. The state hasn’t been “flipped” or whatever else they’re saying.
We’ve seen this narrative before. When Democrat Doug Jones narrowly defeated Republican Roy Moore in the special election for Jeff Sessions’ vacant Senate seat in 2017, many on the left seemed to interpret that election as a sign of Trump’s weakness,

The nine women and children slaughtered in Mexico on Monday were part of a Mormon community with ties to the alleged sex-cult Nxivm.
The outpost Mormon community in Mexico is where underlings of Nxivm leader Keith Raniere recruited young women to work as nannies in an upstate New York compound run by the accused cult — suggesting at least in part that the jobs would get the girls away from their home region’s drug violence, according a man hired by Raniere to produce a documentary about the group.
The three moms and six kids killed in Monday’s violence in the northern town of Sonora are believed to

AUGUSTA, WIS.
Corey Bauch is eager to explain why he regrets not voting for Donald Trump.
The 44-year old-agreed to meet with me last week in this rural Wisconsin town (population of 1,500), where he has lived most of his life. As we talked, horse-drawn buggies from the local Amish community rolled past a small outpost of stores, on their way to nearby farms.
The libertarian Bauch was one of the few in rural Wisconsin who didn’t support Trump in 2016, saying he reminded him of an arrogant boss. But after the election, he began to see the president’s outspoken style as an antidote to Washington’s pervasive corruption.

Senate Republicans are privately debating whether they should use an impeachment trial of President Trump to scrutinize former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter as some Trump allies push to call them as witnesses while others dismiss the suggestion as a risky political ploy.
The ongoing discussions are a revealing glimpse into the fault lines in the GOP ahead of a possible trial of Trump in the Senate, where there are varying appetites among Republicans for the type of political combat relished by the president and his most ardent defenders.
Among a group of Trump’s allies inside and outside Congress, there is intense and growing interest in countering the

A gun-control lobbying group funded largely by billionaire Michael Bloomberg just helped Democrats take over the state government in Virginia – right in the National Rifle Association’s backyard.
In Tuesday’s elections, the Democrats tipped the Virginia House and Senate in their favor, giving them full control of the state government for the first time since 1994. The election had stronger-than-usual turnout in the suburbs, according to media reports.
While the results could be a good omen for Democrats’ chances in 2020, it may also be a tipping point in the money battle over gun rights.

This has been an awful week for the purported new 2020 Democratic presidential front-runner, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. For months, Warren has received nearly unmitigated praise from the media for her bevy of "plans." She's been praised as "wonkish" and "brainy" and "focused." Her growth in the polls has been the dual result of a strong organizational effort by her campaign in early primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire, and endless gobs of drool from reporters.
But now the bloom is coming off the rose.
