If you were on social media last night, you probably saw a lot of folks on the left celebrating that Kentucky, a deep red state, “had turned blue” because of the razor-thin victory of Democrat Andy Beshear over incumbent Republican Matt Bevin.
Let me just get it out of the way right now and tell you that Kentucky isn’t turning blue. The state hasn’t been “flipped” or whatever else they’re saying.
We’ve seen this narrative before. When Democrat Doug Jones narrowly defeated Republican Roy Moore in the special election for Jeff Sessions’ vacant Senate seat in 2017, many on the left seemed to interpret that election as a sign of Trump’s weakness,

Usually, in conservative or moderate areas, there isnt a whole lot of difference between elected republicans and democrats. Gavin Newsom, Gillum, Abrams, Schumer, Warren, Sanders and people like them have zero chance of winning a statewide election in a state like Kentucky.

Don't know what's in his South Beach mojito, but Drudge has been wacky for a long while; I've deleted him as a home page after many years. He/his webmaster - or the gopher who manages his page - is trying to drive the traffic in a certain direction...... way left. Now, I would not have a problem with that, provided his headlines actually matched the information on the links, but they don't --- it's all sensationalism to attract clicks. That's a dangerous way to pull readers; people will soon figure you out. So he has lost credibility with me. I'm taking my internet traffic elsewhere because he does not have a monopoly on the truth, and does not seem to care for accuracy anymore. Ciao, Matt. You've become too woke.

Number 2 said it all. I had Drudge as my home page for many years, changed it a few months ago. Haven't been to that site in a few months now.

Drudge seems to have gotten quite worried since the Dems in Congress wanted the FCC to investigate his site and shut it down. It seems to be that plus his creating an App for phones that drives him to become all things to all people. His obsessive fixation on sex and sex robots is enough for me to "cancel him."

I stopped turning to Drudge Report for news aggregation early this year when Matt Drudge moved hard to the left. I now daily consult CITIZEN FREE PRESS, a far superior conservative site which also allows reader comments. Try it if you, too, are fed up with Drudge.

All this talk about a drudge...
What is a drudge?
And who cares?
In Kentucky, many were upset with Bevins treatment of teachers...he kind of did this to himself.

Echoing other posters, I too have dumped Drudge after many years of faithful viewership.
And thanks to #6, I'll give that site a look.

Interesting fact, all the other state races went solidly Republican. Republican Matt Bevin was an abrasive candidate that voters found undesirable. It was surprising he got as many votes as he did. The RNC did a poor job of vetting this candidate.

Poster#2 laid it out pretty well: The feelings of a number who post here- myself included. [in part ] "...Don't know what's in his South Beach mojito, but Drudge has been wacky for a long while; I've deleted him as a home page after many years. He/his webmaster - or the gopher who manages his page - is trying to drive the traffic in a certain direction...... way left.." Apparently, as many others have done, we've fled from Matt Drudge and his increasingly, lefty, inclined aggregation. Fox News is increasingly, also sucking A hind teat As well. Constantly, three or more days behind what is happening and news on the 'Net! Bye, Y'all......

If I read #7 right and Bevin mistreated "teachers" then I'm all for him despite his "abrasive" ways. "Educators" deserve all the scorn and disrespect given them for what they have done to this country. They are scum to me.

Lucianne.com is my home page and has been since I first found it (via Drudge) in 1998 or 1999. I quit clicking on Drudge several years ago as it had become more of a tabloid than a news site. I sometimes wonder if his leap to the left has something to do with him having a leftist boyfriend who is pushing him.

The story I read is that the actual Drudge site is owned by his father, who sold it to Google some time back. Thanks, Dad, for wrecking my reputaton as the newsman of the new century.
