Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran who has been with that network since it was founded in 1996, is moving to rival CBS News.
She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, CBS News said, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks. Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the network’s main breaking-news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.

One less reason to watch Fox. But only one reason to watch CBS.

I doubt if CBS will be as open to her reporting that doesn't meet their template. Hope she got a deal like Megyn Kelly did at NBC, because she'll either have to sell out or cash out at the end.

She thought FOX treated her unfairly. It will be interesting to see how she gets along there. Good luck, don't give up your values of hard news reporting.

It will be interesting to see if she is well received by CBS or if she will be shunned like Megyn Kelly was. Her unbiased approach and good sources generally got the story right. This style may run into conflicts with the snarky, anti-Trump bias that permeates every level of CBS News. She would be a good reporter to add balance to 60 minutes but if she treats Trump with impartiality she will get blow back from Pelley and the other DNC surrogates on the show.

Tragic to see an honest reporter swallowed up by one of the worst corporate propaganda machines. WIll miss her, as I will never watch anything on the corporate networks.

She's moving to Fake News. Won't last long. It is going to be Megan Kelly and NBC all over again.

FTA: “CBS News has always placed a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations,” said Herridge, in a statement. “I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter.”
I have no idea what they did to sell Catherine that she would have a lot of autonomy, but we'll have to see. I don't watch Fox so only know that the "Chicks on the Right" this morning were surprised by this move. She maybe looking to run "60 Minutes" someday or anchor the evening news? Stay tuned.

We will no longer see her because we do not watch CBS at all.
Her comments about CBS are rather odd to me. I’m not used to her just making nice - kowtowing - or maybe she means that bit about their supposed standards. Troubling either way, to use a current cliche.
“CBS News has always placed a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations,” said Herridge, in a statement. “I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter.”
and then this:
Her departure may give a new boost to recent speculation that the network’s news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.

Maybe CBS believes she will drag a bunch of Fox viewers over to them? Ha!

Herridge knew what SeeBS is. She chose money over professionalism. Fine, just don't wrap it as something righteous.

Herridge, if I recall, gave a portion of her liver to her son in a transplant. I'm sure the medical bills weren't cheap.
However, joining the enemy is not necessarily the answer. Surely she must know Sharyl Atkisson on a personal and/or professional basis and what 'public servants' did to Atkisson merely for being a journalist.
From the Deep State's perspective, perhaps they tired of Herridge digging dirt and obtaining facts. Her CBS bosses will trim her claws via choice of assignments. They might give her some high-profile 60 Minutes segments to satisfy her ego. Either way, she won't be disrupting their nefarious activities as often.

Ryan pushes out another solid reporter who was regularly uncovering info on the coup plotters who tried to overthrow our President.
She will be frustrated at SeeBS, they will not let her work on the kind of things she has been working on, and will not be able to tell the truth on SeeBS.

I will be VERY surprised if Ms. Herridge is permitted to investigate and honestly report on the coup plotters, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, both Ohrs, and many more corrupt folks at FBI, DoJ, and CIA.
That will be swept under the run at See BS, almost certainly.

Leaving Fox can be lucrative, but a career-killer for those who leave. Just ask Meghan Kelly, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Greta Van Sustern and Gretchen Carlson. The jury is still out on Shepard Smith.

Sorry to see her go from FOX. Her fan base at FOX will NOT follow her. And I am sure no viewers at CBS ever heard of her. I for one, haven'y watched a SeeBS news broadcast in over 20 years. Catherine being added to their line-up will not alter my avoiding SeeBS. Megyn Kelly did not do well at NBC apart from the money. I think NBC helped deep six Megyn's career. Hope the same does not happen to Catherine, but it is likely, SeeBS will have her covering something irrelevant. Time will tell.

You cannot compare Smith to Herritage. Something is very fishy in this story. I'd lik to thank Tucker Carlson for his well thought out out remarks regarding Ms. Herritage. Something it rotten in Denmark..
