Speaking at an event in Chicago called the "Obama Foundation Summit" (were any heads of state present?), Michelle Obama let slip her resentment of white people. The grudge goes back to her childhood, and she does not seem to see much progress in the behavior she attributes to Caucasian-Americans. Fox News reports what the New York Times doesn't: White Americans are "still running" elsewhere when minorities and immigrants move into their communities, Michelle Obama observed Tuesday. She's just so pompous and self-righteous. Wasn't it Jesse Jackson who admitted if he were walking down a dark street and saw some black guys coming toward him he would be scared, and would cross the street? As for the carping and complaining and condemning of our country, no-one is stopping those haranguers from packing their stuff and leaving. For example, there's a continent a large one, a very large one, just south of Europe...

Let's be honest. People are WIRED to trust those who resemble themselves. It is part of human nature. Call it tribalism if you want to, but we grow up trusting our family and have a natural distrust for outsiders. You cannot legislate that away any more than you can pass a law to control greed. The issue of 'prejudice' is an immutable trait of all human interactions. We ARE ALWAYS going to judge every situation we encounter. And we will often jump to a wrong conclusion. What we NEED to do is to be FAIR in our judgments, not apologize for THINKING about a situation and its ramifications or potential outcomes. With that in mind, I know that a young black male is about 6-7 times more likely to be violent than a young white male. That FACT is something that I am not willing to dispense with when I am in a situation where that information is potentially relevant. If Michelle Obama wants to improve the white fear factor, the place to start is with the underlying reasons why such fear might exist.

When hubby was a medical resident, we lived near the hospital in a less desirable neighborhood, as did many other residents and their families. Lots of crime and had to be on guard all the time. One rental house had a family(ies) whose adults were invisible except for the liquor bottles thrown in the yard while their children played unsupervised and often unfed. And we did feed them often. This group vanished one night and a lovely black family moved in. They were immediately accepted because their values were the same as ours. Ironically, they soon moved out because the neighborhood and schools weren’t good! Good for them. Eventually, we all moved on too but it taught me that we recognize and associate with folks with similar values and race or ethnicity don’t matter then.

Joe Biden is out pulling rank. In response to a little priest in South Carolina denying him Holy Communion for advocating pro-abortion positions inconsistent with Church teaching, the former vice president and Democratic Party presidential frontrunner made it clear he didn't deal with pipsqueaks. Asked about the incident, Lifesite News reported Biden's response: “It’s not a position that I’ve found anywhere else, including from the Holy Father, who gives me Communion.” So instead of thinking about the priest's position and offering some kind of contemplative thought, Biden declared it was all O.K. to be advocating for abortion from his position,

To illustrate what sort of zealots now own the Democratic Party, realize that Barack Obama probably wouldn’t be the nominee if he were running for president. It’s a scathing commentary on the left. It became obvious when, in this age of wokeness, the former president criticized today’s cancel culture, in which the outrage mob turns anyone who holds an unapproved opinion into an instant social and political outcast. Ostracism replaces discussion. There is no debate, the airing of differing opinions is not allowed. “This idea of purity and you’re never compromised and you’re always politically ‘woke’ and all that stuff,” Obama said last week at an Obama Foundation event,

A former Clinton adviser says that should Joe Biden drop out of the race, Hillary Clinton will run for president again because “she feels that God put her on the Earth to do it.” Do we really deserve that much punishment from the Almighty? Dick Morris, who advised Bill Clinton in his 1978 campaign for Arkansas governor, and again in his 1996 White House re-election effort, says it is his “feeling” that Hillary wants to run. “She feels entitled to do it,” he said on John Catsimatidis’ Sunday morning radio show from New York. “She feels compelled to do it. Earlier this month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren promised that she’d reveal how she’d pay the $36 trillion (and climbing) cost of Medicare for All some time “in the coming weeks.” If she claims that it can be financed entirely on the backs of corporations and the rich, she will be lying. That’s made clear by a report from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, which is decidedly non-partisan. After studying tax data, it concluded that “Tax increases on high earners, corporations, and the financial sector by themselves could not cover much more than one-third of the cost of Medicare for All.” The report notes that “there is not enough annual income
