Gender Transition

In Texas, a jury ruled against a father who was trying to prevent one of his sons from undergoing a “gender transition” process, according to the Daily Wire. Eleven of the twelve jurors ruled against Jeffrey Younger as he was trying to gain sole custody of his twin sons from his ex-wife Anne Georgulas, who is trying to force one of the boys, James, to take puberty blockers. As a result of the ruling, the father will be forced to agree to the boy’s new “gender identity,” including his female name Luna. Speaking on a podcast after the ruling,

The Daily Wire article [linked] is more informative. False eyelashes, makeup, chemical castration... the kid is seven years old. Thinking back how much fun it was being seven, 56 years ago. Haven't prayed in over 20 years but I might start. This poor kid is in for some rough sledding.

Whether this child wants to transition or doesn't want to transition, regardless of what either parent wants, no one should be allowed to make this decision for a young child. Just think of all the things you are not allowed to do until you reach a certain age: drink, drive, enlist, vote, take out a loan, etc. How could you possibly allow a child to decide something that will affect him for the rest of his life. Shame on that jury, and shame on anyone who thinks this is ok. This makes me feel sick. This child is a pawn in some divorce mess. The mother really sounds like a nut and I'm not sure why the jury would decide as they did.

Filling in the blanks in the most sympathetic way I can to the mother's position I can only get this far: When with mom the boy tells mom what she wants to hear. When with dad he tells dad what he wants to hear. That doesn't add up to reversing nature at 7 years old. As the dad I'd be inclined to perform a little reassignment surgery on male members (oh that works) of the jury. Is this what they call "progress?" They can have it, we were better off in the cave.

Chemically castrating a seven-year-old boy is abuse beyond measure, in my opinion. No seven-year-old is prepared to deal with the consequences of such an action. Hell, most seven-year-olds have a hard time dealing with a parent's insistence that he/she eats his/her vegetables at supper time. There is no way that a child is capable of coping with such a body-altering decision with so many psycho-social results. What if it turns out the child wants a child of his/her own when he/she reaches maturity? It ain't gonna happen with chemical castration; the kid can never be a father biologically. And chemical castration doesn't make ovaries, so the kid cannot become a mother either. I feel bad for the kid. Let him make a decision to change when he is an adult. I feel bad for the dad. He has to witness this abuse and is powerless to do anything about it now that the court has ruled -- unless an appeal saves him. And I pity the mom. She is an idiot. And, whether she realizes it or not, she is as mean as a snake for allowing this to occur. What a dirty, moldy soul she has!

I will paraphrase what I read. Mother and Father are in custody dispute. She is a doctor. Don’t recall what type of doctor. When the boy is with her, she calls him Luna and he is dressed in girl’s clothes. When he is with Father, he is said to not want to dress as a girl. The hormones and all that would wait, according to the Mother, until he is reaching puberty. About 11 years of age. Why they would want this boy with that woman defies logic. Unless Dad is something awful. But in a succession of three articles on this, from link, to link, to link, he doesn’t see to be. From the LifeSite article, which seems to have the most detail (my following links backward eventually got me there): Dr. Georgulas testified today James and Jude are not actually biologically related to her. They were created through in-vitro fertilization and the couple used an egg donor. Mother seems to be a psychologist. This boy is one of twins from separate eggs, each from a separate donor.

Do not see in the article where this took place. Considering the jury verdict I would hazard a guess that it is in the Austin area. Mother sounds like a vindictive shrew trying to mess up her ex-husbands and both sons lives. She needs a mental evaluation to determine whether she has the ability to make decisions about her sons future. Whack job!

This is an example of where taking the child and leaving the jurisdiction of the courts is the right thing to do. Be that moving to another state or another country, you are saving the child's sanity, at least probably. Keeping "the state" (or anyone, actually) from harming your children should be a parent's highest calling.

No jury, judge, or elected official can force anyone to agree with anything since Americans still have freedom of thought -- for the time being. The mother should be confined to a mental institution. But the economy is in such shambles that drivers are now paying for fill-ups with a little food, a candy bar or just a cigarette. Bartering at the pump has taken off as hyperinflation makes Venezuela’s paper currency, the bolivar, hard to find and renders some denominations all but worthless, so that nobody will accept them. The anonymous senior Trump Administration official who penned an op-ed last year describing the “resistance” operating inside the White House will publish a tell-all book in November. The book, titled “A Warning,” will be released on Nov. 19 and the author will remain unnamed, according to publisher Twelve, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group. It is being promoted as “an unprecedented behind-the-scenes portrait of the Trump presidency” that goes beyond what was written in the Sept. 5, 2018, op-ed in the New York Times.

Rock legend Bruce Springsteen took aim at President Trump in a new interview Friday, saying the president doesn't "grasp" the meaning of being an American. In an interview on "CBS This Morning," host Gayle King asked Springsteen about a recent Trump rally in which the president bragged that his election victory in 2016 was accomplished without the support of celebrities like Springsteen, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. "You surprised that he's trash-talking you after all this time?" King asked. "Not really. Anything's possible," the New Jersey musician responded. King noted that "a lot of people are very concerned about the direction of the country," with Springsteen agreeing that it's a "very frightening time" in America.

On Friday during Rep. Elijah Cummings’ (D-MD) funeral, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton used a Biblical analogy to take a veiled shot at President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump. Clinton was comparing Cummings to his namesake, the Biblical prophet Elijah, who stood up against wicked King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. Clinton said, “Like the prophet, our Elijah could call down fire from heaven — but he also prayed and worked for healing.” She added, “Like that Old Testament prophet, he stood against corrupt leadership of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.” The crowd roared in acknowledgment.

A pallbearer at Rep. Elijah Cummings’ memorial service at the Capitol Thursday refused to shake hands with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, leaving the GOP lawmaker visibly stunned. In video captured by C-Span, Bobby Rankin—who was listed as a pallbearer for Cummings’ Friday funeral—walks down a line of VIP attendees. He hugs Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), then shakes hands with Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Rankin then walks past McConnell, who is sandwiched between Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, without breaking his stride

Long before real planning for it began, and long before the first news stories about it, those of us in the top levels of the Pentagon heard President Donald Trump demand the military parade he would eventually get. The bizarre request was one of the first signs I had of the enormous rift between my boss at the time, Defense Secretary James Mattis, and the president.

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Beat,” political commentator Bill Kristol said Republicans Senators were not ruling out voting to “convict” President Donald Trump during and impeachment trial. Kristol said, “The White House is panicking that is what is happening. That is why Trump is lashing out at everyone in truly as the senator says, it is unhinged ways. That’s why Lindsey Graham is floating this ridiculous resolution telling the House how to do it’s business and giving Republican senators something they can kinda be for.” He continued, “Even the reasonable Republicans who might defect don’t want to defend Trump on substance.

In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that aired Friday, former Secretary of State John Kerry said the evidence against President Donald Trump in the House impeachment inquiry was “more powerful” than was there was in former President Richard Nixon’s impeachment. Kerry said, “The evidence is powerful, some of it more powerful already than what we saw in the impeachment of Richard Nixon.” He continued, “The evidence at this point in time certainly merits the inquiry that is taking place.”

Bad things tend to happen to people who find themselves on Hillary Clinton’s enemies list. Just days after being attacked by Hillary Clinton for being a favorite of the Russians and for allegedly being “groomed” (by Republicans, her spokesman later claimed she meant) to run as a third-party candidate, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard announced late last night that she will not seek re-election to the House of Representatives (snip) It is an odd coincidence that becoming an official enemy of Hillary Clinton preceded this surprise announcement that offered no new reason for the decision announced on Twitter beyond her desire to serve as president.

Quid pro quo . . . it’s the new “by the book.” You remember “by the book,” right? No, not “buy the book,” which I’ve been trying to get people to do since Ball of Collusion was published a few weeks back. I’m talking about by the book. That was the memorable phrase Obama national-security adviser Susan Rice emphasized in her notorious CYA memo. Remember? The memo took the form of an email. She wrote it while clearing out of her White House office while Donald Trump was being inaugurated. It purported to summarize a meeting more than two weeks earlier, when President Obama held an Oval Office pow-wow on Ukraine

London—Climate activist Greta Thunberg has a tiny new namesake. London’s Natural History Museum said Friday that a minute species of beetle is being named “Nelloptodes gretae” in honor of the 16-year-old Swede. Michael Darby, a scientific associate at the museum who found the insect in its collection of millions of animal specimens, chose the name to acknowledge her “outstanding contribution” to raising awareness of environmental issues. The beetle is less than 1 millimeter long and has no eyes or wings. It belongs to a 1960s collection from samples of soil and leaf litter in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi,

Highly educated “experts” rule today’s advanced societies, but their advice on how the rest of us should live – often enforced by government coercion –is increasingly exposed as premature at best and mistaken, incomplete, ignorant, or fraudulent at worst. Yet another bit of diet advice from “experts” is turning out to be an exploding cigar. High cholesterol particularly LDL cholesterol has been demonized for allegedly bringing on heart attack deaths. But an intriguing analysis of data published in Medium.com seems to show that total mortality is enhanced by high cholesterol levels, even LDL cholesterol. As author P.D. Mangan writes: … from a public health standpoint, it seems a mistake
