The important news of the day--far beyond the inevitable tedious impeachment jousting--is that John Durham's investigation of the provenance of the FBI's counterintelligence investigation of possible Trump-Russia collusion has expanded, according to several administration officials.
Fox News previously reported that Durham would be reviewing the days leading up to the 2016 election and through the inauguration.
However, based on what he has been finding, Durham has expanded his investigation adding agents and resources, the senior administration officials said.

The democrats would have no need to be fearful and bay woefully if they had done nothing wrong. The media would not be bleating sheep, following the democrats to the slaughter, if they had done nothing wrong. Barr and Durham would not be expanding their investigations if what the democrats and media did was not only wrong, but illegal.

I keep hearing about how tough Mr. Durham is, how the Dems are all afraid of him, etc. I certainly hope he lives up to this reputation soon, while we still have a Republic.

1. Why didn’t Barr and Durham grasp the enormity of these scandals in 2017-18 rather than in October 2019? I realize that Barr didn’t become AG until March of this year, but was he that unaware about Obama, Hillary, Comey and dozens of other thugs who sought to impose the Hillary regime on us?
2. Since Wray’s FBI has stonewalled Congress on what it’s former officials did against Trump, are there any honest agents that can be trusted to investigate fellow Democrats? Party first appears to be the rule for the Bureau, for the CIA ans even Barr’s DoJ.
3. In the remote chance Durham actually indicts an Obama conspirator, the media will scream that it’s Trump trying to take spotlight off of impeachment inquiry and not actual law enforcement.
4. Roger. Stone goes on trial in several weeks while Hillary is about to run for her imaginary reelection, Obama is raking in millions and Rice, Brennan, Clapper and Comey are regulars on MSNBC and CNN. Justice is dead.

The Dems must know a Schiff Storm is coming - why else would they push for impeachment over a debunked nothingburger? They need to get it on the table before the real Schumer hits the fan.

"One would advise the Democrats to reconsider, but they don't seem able to do it. They probably have too much to lose."
This is a summation of where we find the dems/Left/media of today, They are in free fall off the cliffs of insanity and there is no way for them to stop their plunge.
It is interesting that they have used the same tactics for decades except on a smaller scale and more subtly. They thought, given the desperateness of the situation, they should GO BIG. But all it has done, for anyone willing to see, is blatantly expose them and the scheming, lying, corrupt tactics they use. How many train wrecks do you have to see with their brand before you realize that you probably don't want to ride the DEM railroad, even if they are giving you "free" tickets.
And it is against the background of Trump's YUGE successes that the dem's sleaziness and incompetence starkly stands out. Their justified fear of what Trump might accomplish has driven them full speed into the disaster they created and amplified. One might be inclined to feel a bit sorry for them in their misery but then they pull their next ill mannered stunt with no remorse and you are reminded that they DESERVE every bad thing that happens to them.

Allow me to draw an analogy here. This is sort of like a first mortgage holder and a second mortgage holder, and what is called a 'race to the courthouse.'
The first mortgage holder is the one who gets there first.
What we may be watching is a democrat push to get the impeachment pushed through the back door of the House, via the Intelligence Committee, where DJT can't defend himself properly because of the nature of the committee. If Durham and Barr drag their feet, as prosecutors tend to do, the dimocrats will prove that the best defense is a good offense.
Old Jo Biden is granted complete immunity, even though his actions with his son are treasonable and seditious. Leave Joe Alone will be the battle cry. And if Lady Lucifer emerges on the top of the garbage pile, 'Don't Pillory Hillary' will be reprised from the 90s.
Those are the reasons for the 'race to the courthouse.' The difference is the dimocrats are using a back alley shortcut while Barr and Dunham observe traffic laws.

Call me CYNICAL. For us in flyover land an indictment or three of someone would be helpful, a significant you will, to keep us believing. Constantly expanding anything with only theories and suppositions and PR does little to reassure us. Still a believer but——

Demonrats must be living in an alternate universe if they think that the President of the United States wouldn't investigate treason within his Executive Branch.
Imagine if the CEO of XYZ Corp had someone anonymously publish a fallacious report on their business in the national media, requiring corporate leadership dive into full damage-control-mode, upon seeing their stock price plummet on the bad news, yet they're never in the least bit curious about who it was, or why it was done?! Topping off on his arrogance, the "leaker" smugly considers ANY investigation of his crimes to be "uncalled for" and "proof of guilt" on the part of XYZ.
