I won’t say that impeachment is back in the news, because the removal of the President never left and has been a headline grabber since before Trump took the oath. (snip) For all of Pelosi’s supposed political acumen, her hand was forced by the progressive rabble-rousers. This makes for a dramatic coup de théâtre, but it’s still only that: theater. Pelosi lost face, yes. But the humiliation will be downplayed by her media backers, who treat statecraft like so many three-act plays. And we already know the coming ending.
The Washington wisdom behind Trump’s impeachment makes sense until you venture three feet outside I-495.

Today is backfire day for this latest ill-conceived charade.
This silly exercise has been driven by dopey young democrats who have been radicalized beyond reason and agitated beyond their intelligence . . . . . . . . . and now democrats are about to he hoist by their own retards.

To answer the question posed by the poster...a large number believe that they will get Hillary if Trump were to be impeached.

It's amazing to me how minor-league the dems are. Trump is dealing head-on with all the major problems, and the dems are ankle-biting him, and doing nothing else.

Except that they won't remove Trump. He's usually proven right in these matters, and I hope he starts locking people up soon! I'm tired of waiting.

#1, what "intelligence"? All they can do is parrot back what they are told. I can only think of them with the little girl stare of that Greta kid, that "give me back my toy" belligerent look.

The Progressives/Democrats are responsible for getting these rabble-rousers into office. They stoked the fires of hatred to get them elected. I hope it bites them in the arse big time and the people vote them out of office in revulsion to their actions.

Pelosi knows. If she forces her caucus to just go on record formalizing impeachment, let alone actually pass the articles, from 35 to 40 of her members are not coming back. She is a seasoned operator, nobody's fool. Trump politically respects her. It must be really hot in there for her to get this desperate.

As the author points out, this is nothing more than a fund raising gimmick for the Dems and to help support CNN, MSNBC, etc. by getting the useful idiots to cough up money for the former and tune in to the latter.
They will drag out this new Trump "offense" like they did with the Russian hoax because it calms the nut jobs on the fringe of the party while allowing the clown car of Presidential hopefuls to talk about it and sound tough.
In my opinion, it is an exploding cigar that Trump's brighter staff put into Nancy's humidor when no one was watching. So ... why did Trump want the Ukraine to look into Biden's kid anyway? What did Hunter do that was so bad? Let's look into it! The more curious independent voters will ask for more info --- to Sleepy Joe's detriment.

There are no consequences for the dems to commit fraud (Russian collusion, and whatever else they can think of). Where is Barr thoughout this. Where are the trials for the known liars who tried for the bloodless coup? The dems are not Kennedy's dems, that's for sure.

Their plan, of course, is to then go after Pence. Removing him, Pelosi will be President.

Pelosi “lost face” alright and returned from break new and improved, glossy and tightened, refreshed and youthful. All THAT didn’t happen at a spa. She got her money’s worth.

Fifteen days to indict Manafort, Flynn, and Papadopoulos. Two years for the GOP to ignore the detailed evidence and ridiculously easy way to bring all members of this illegal coup to indictments, trial, and conviction by Levin in March, 2017 but the GOP HELPED the criminals and the coup to continue unabated even the House "investigation" for two years. Before everyone gets all warm and confident that an impeachment means a re-election and doom for Democrats, just remember that half of this country and over half of the popular voters (including of course the illegal alien voters) are giddy and excited about it and NEVER underestimate the GOP's ability to shoot itself in the foot, especially the bloviators in the Senate. If you think the Marxists and their Marxist propagandists cannot convince or blackmail 23 Republican senators into voting to remove Trump from office, think again. I would chortle over the Marxist's impeachment intentions with extreme caution.

In the unlikely event that Trump is removed from office by the leftist and liberal Democrats with help from the RINO’s based upon charges that amount to a making a political mountain out of a molehill, thus reversing the 2016 election, he should immediate announce that he will be running for President as an Independent in the 2020 election. With Trump campaigning against them, it will be a sure thing that the RINO’s, who are up for re-election, and who voted to remove Trump from office will no longer be in Congress.

Let's play ..."What if"...
What if the dems are successful in impeaching Trump?...then we get VP Pence.
What if the dems are somehow able to also get rid of choirboy Mike Pence? then we get speaker of the house Pelosi.
What if the dems get rid of Pelosi next year and put intellectually-challenged AOC in her place?...Unfortunately AOC is not old enough to be president and she still owes tax money to the State of New York.
OK, What if the dems make Ilhan Omar the speaker instead?...Omar married her brother and most of her relatives are terrorists.
My head is spinning.
Ok, one more...What if the dems just leave Trump in office since he is the greatest president since Reagan?...then we all win. (Except the dems)

So, what is wrong with Pence? Not that I want Donald Trump removed but I am so sick of these antics. I like what Donald Trump and Mike Pence stand for as President and Vice President. They stand for the American people. Something that hasn't happened in a long time. . .

The reality is that Trump will not be impeached and removed from office in this term or his next term. Their worst nightmare has come true. But let me assure you that payback is really going to be a beyatch for the Democrats. Trust me. They are all going to pay and pay dearly. Justice will be done.

I dutifully read the article and it is indicative of the thinking of most of us. But, for the rest of the week I will quote #8's excellent analogy: ''In my opinion, it is an exploding cigar that Trump's brighter staff put into Nancy's humidor when no one was watching. '' Thanks for the serious thought behind the very funny statement.

I think poster #12 is on to something about 'convincing' enough Pubbies in the Senate to impeach. I'd wager that Democrats are right now having prints made of the barnyard pictures taken of some GOP Senators and are ready to 'leak' them to the press.
Justice Robert's didn't do us any favors when he reversed Obama's argument that the ACA wasn't a tax, either, and gave us O-Care.

It is not the objective of the Democrats to remove Trump. The objective is to harass him and demonize him so he can't do his job, and will not get re-elected.

I find it hard to believe that impeachment could get 67 votes on the Senate , that would surely be the end of the
Republican Party, who would ever vote for them if they allowed that to happen ?
As #19:says they are and have been since day one trying to tie him up to prevent him from doing anything. Also this is a warning to all future Republican office holders that they better be prepared for daily colonoscopies looking for ‘crimes’ going back to kindergarten.

#13 I believe you are incorrect--If DJT were to be impeached and removed(heaven forbid) he would be permanently ineligible to serve as president again

While I have your attention... Ever notice when Juan Williams is on the panel of Fox News Sunday, he makes a number of faces to express how he's feeling? Those faces are given TV face-time, thanks to Fox News Sunday's director. Cut-away cuts to Juan for a smile, a frown, a confused look, a bigger frown, an even bigger frown and by that time, in no uncertain terms, viewers have made Juan's point.
Payola? No way! That's ancient history!

No way the Republican Senate will do anything with the Impeachment. Trump is perfectly secure.

If Pence became President, he would quickly appoint a new Vice-President and the GOP Senate would immediately confirm him. Dan Crenshaw (USN-Ret.) would be my recommendation.

I have seen seversl post opining that if Trump were removed the dims would get Pence removed and Pelosi would become POTUS. No.
Pence would name a new VP (eg Gerald Ford succeeded Nixon and named Rockefeller as VP).and Nancy would still not be on deck.
