Goodwin: Pelosi’s impeachment
flip-flop changes everything

Original Article

For months, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned itchy Democrats against the perils of impeachment. She should have stuck to her guns. In surrendering to the radicals and the noisy drumbeat of their media handmaidens, Pelosi established a formal investigative process involving the top legislative committees. (Snip) But her surrender proved again that her party can’t quit 2016. Like generals fighting the last war, she and they are now committed to taking their sore-loser grievances to 2020 voters. Dems apparently assume the country hates Trump as much as they do. President Hillary Clinton had no comment on the strategy.

Hatred sure can do a number on reasonable thinking. Hmmmm......I think the number will be 270 (at least)

I disagree. When the call and the complaint are released, the story will be over. There’s nothing there and Nancy now knows it. This will be out of the hews by next week and Nancy will never let the full house vote on this nonsense. As for Biden...he’ll be gone by Thanksgiving.

Goodwin should know the Democrats better by now. The Democrats can start and drop anything without any shame, and go straight to the next manufactured lie. Democrats have no ethics, no principles, no morals, no conscience, no heart. I can't see any constraint on anything the Democrats might do.

She didn't do anything but throw a plastic bone to AOC and the Squids. Everyone who's talking about Impeachment has failed to go through the formal process, and there's no way they'll be doing that this close to an election. The Dem clown car is careening into the wall at 180 mph and the car's self-destruct button is set to "Engaged"

So far demonrats are sitting there fat, dumb, and happy. Even Barr refuses to prosecute any of them. Next up: The whitewash IG report soon followed by that MA attorney report. There is absolutely no real justice in this country. Gone. Poof.

I thought we'd at least get Oprah. President Trump's victory was supposed to be the start of a new era of celebrity politics in America. He proved that a candidate with no political experience but substantial name recognition can win — that fame is, for many Americans, reason enough to give a campaign a serious hearing. For 2020, I anticipated the Democratic Party would respond in kind, and I don't think I'm alone in that expectation. My colleague Matthew Walther made the case this past spring that a celebrity challenger might well be Democrats' strongest tactic against

Once Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed Eagle on the Moon, the Apollo 11 astronauts and their spaceship were actually lost. Oh, Mission Control never lost radio contact with them. But NASA was never able to figure out where, exactly, on the Moon they had set down, while they were on the Moon. And NASA sure did try. (Snip) In the 22½ hours Armstrong and Aldrin were on the Moon in Eagle, NASA never found them. Their crewmate, Michael Collins, was overhead, orbiting the Moon in the command module Columbia. The command module had a telescope as part of its navigation

Late Monday, when Donald Trump’s campaign launch was dominating the news cycle, Disney decided it would be a good time to raise ticket prices … by a lot. An annual pass without blackout dates now costs $899. That means a family of four can either go to Disney — or buy a 2012 Nissan Sentra. Or maybe pay a couple months’ mortgage. Single-day tickets now range from $109 to $159. The craftily timed announcement was masterful PR. Still, news spread quickly. (snip) In fact, Disney is trying to drive some of you away. Baghdad -- One swears he sold chickens in Syria; another that he was a doctor, not a killer; a third that he was kicked out of the Islamic State jihadist group because he was too lazy; a fourth that he managed to get a salary as a fighter without actually doing anything. But the stories of these Frenchmen who had traveled to the Middle East to join the IS extremists don’t seem to move the Iraqi judge hearing them in Baghdad. One by one, he condemns the men to death.

Seoul, South Korea — North Korea announced that it has test-fired a new type of tactical guided weapon. The Korean Central News Agency says Chairman Kim Jong Un observed the firing of the weapon Wednesday by the Academy of Defense Science. The agency says Kim mounted an observation post to learn about the test-fire of the new-type tactical guided weapon and guide the test-fire. The announcement came after reports of new activity at a North Korean missile research center and long-range rocket site where the North is believed to build long-range missiles targeting the U.S. mainland.

A 5-year-old Woodbury boy remained hospitalized with critical injuries Saturday, one day after he was tossed over a third-floor railing at the Mall of America, allegedly by a stranger with a history of mental health problems. The boy is "still very much with us and fighting," according to a family friend who set up a GoFundMe page that raised $263,000 within hours of being created Saturday. The donations will help pay for his medical and rehabilitation costs, which will include multiple surgeries, organizers said. The boy´s parents declined to comment Saturday, pleading for privacy.

"Democrats say we have guns in America because of 'corruption,'" former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared on Twitter on Sept. 12. "No, we have guns because it's our God-given right enshrined in the Constitution." (Snip) The second part of that tweet is silly; God didn't give people the right to own AR-15s any more than a divine entity gave Americans the right to own automobiles without seat belts. The first part of Sanders’ tweet, though, is mostly accurate. The National Rifle Association's money doesn't corrupt Republican legislators. Instead, Republicans oppose gun control because conservative political identity is today inseparable from guns. Identity is a deeper motivator

Monday was the culmination of a year’s worth of programmatic, propagandistic proselytization, as a 16-year-old Swedish child with a developmental disability took to a podium at the United Nations to harangue and insult the leaders of the free world over the supposed “mass extinction” that is coming as a result of global warming. Sorry. “Climate change,” as though that is somehow a tragic event; never mind the fact that the climate changes four times per year in something we call “seasons.” The 16-year-old, whose name is Greta Thunberg, suffers from Asperger Syndrome, a condition on the autism spectrum.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched a formal impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump on Tuesday, acquiescing to mounting pressure from fellow Democrats and plunging a deeply divided nation into an election year clash between Congress and the commander in chief. The probe centers on whether Trump abused his presidential powers and sought help from a foreign government to undermine Democratic foe Joe Biden and help his own reelection. Pelosi said such actions would mark a “betrayal of his oath of office” and declared: “No one is above the law.”
