The U.S. Navy has confirmed that three online videos purportedly showing UFOs are genuine. The service says the videos, taken by Navy pilots, show “unexplained aerial phenomena,” but also states that the clips should have never been released to the public in the first place. (Video) The three videos in question are titled "FLIR1," "Gimbal," and "GoFast." They show two separate encounters between Navy aircraft and UFOs.
One video was taken in 2015 off the East Coast by a F/A-18F fighter jet using the aircraft's onboard Raytheon AN/ASQ-228 Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) Pod.

I hope they are real. There must be something happening that is more interesting than a bunch of bumbling communists fighting over which rights, freedoms and money they are going to confiscate first.

So does my pastor, but not from the same source the Navy indicates.

It's a lot more interesting than the silly stuff I heard on the radio today about something to do with Trump or something. It was so bumbling, I turned to another station. As one of the Republican congressmen said, there are all kinds of bills having to do with immigration and other really important subjects that might effect our lives, sitting on someone's desk, going nowhere. We go from one charade to another charade and the clock is ticking.

Will everybody please calm down and remember that UFO means exactly that, and not "alien flying saucer"? UFOs are not proof of alien life. Not to mention the fact that if aliens have the technology to get here, don't you think they'd have stealth technology that we can't even imagine? Aliens visiting Earth are not going to put on light shows over Phoenix or let themselves be seen by warplanes, for crying out loud.

Well, it's funny. The other day I was lying out in the sun looking at the sky and this "tic tac" like object, very high, moving very fast, passed overhead. I was trying to process what I had just seen (satellite? do they travel at that height and move in a southeasterly direction?) Well, a few seconds later, another one in the same "flight path" whizzed across the sky. Now you know planes are going 600 mph but look like they are lumbering along. These things had to be going thousands of miles per hour. Very strange. But definitely my first and only "UFO" sighting. Maybe there is something to it.

Here's my problem with this story. First, nothing real can "violate the laws of physics". As long as things have mass and velocity and travel through a medium like air or water they are subject to the same laws as we are. Second, although the scale is hard to determine, they are clearly too small to have traveled very far in space without causing serious life support and propulsion problems for any intelligent beings that might be controlling them. Related to that is the fact that they were recorded over open water which is the least informative topology of the Earth to explore from the air. If they worked that hard to get here they would most like explore Las Vegas first (as in Mars Attacks). Lastly, any intelligent civilization that could travel intergalactic distances would need to communicate with other such beings using some form of light (radio, laser, or cosmic radiation). Its far more likely that we would intercept their communications centuries before they would arrive in person due to the distances involved. We've been listening since the 1920s and have never heard a peep so I remain skeptical about the extraterrestrial origin of these UFOs.

Somewhere, sometime, I read something (I sound like a democrat) that said the gummint knew/knows that UFO's are real, but if the truth is released without 'preconditioning' by the media and gummint there would be a world wide freakout, riots and worse, and established religions would perish....

And, so it begins: the drip, drip, drip of information that the military has kept closely guarded for decades. It was always the plan to gradually release this information when the public was “ready.” They must feel we are ready. I agree w/# 11. Do yourself a favor, and start to research the subject. You’ll be amazed at the amount of credible evidence out there. MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and CUFOS (Center for UFO Studies) are reputable sources. CUFOS was founded by the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, an American professor and astronomer who worked with the US government on Project Sign, Project Grudge and Project Blue Book. The latter was specifically created to publicly “study” the UFO phenomenon, but privately to debunk it. During the investigations, Dr. Hynek had major problems with unexplainable phenomena being classified as explainable (swamp gas, flocks of birds, the planet Venus, etc.). A total of over 1200 cases could NOT be explained, and were filed as such. He eventually quit the program and founded CUFOS. Mock and dismiss, if you must. Those who seriously study the phenomenon are used to it. But, for those who are open minded, you will be amazed at what has been going on for decades in this country, alone.

I've always believed all the space movies like Close Encounters and TV series like Alien Nation were to prepare us for the unveiling. As to their propulsion and communications, light and radio would be too slow for the distances involved. Far more useful would be gravity. We haven't learned to do much with it yet (as far as I know) but it is almost instantaneous and exists naturally everywhere. Someone may have learned to work it.
Where I have my problem is, if the government dragged out Fred the alien, would I believe them? Or would I fear it is just another scam to get my freedom and my money? It would take a lot of convincing.

I have flown fighter aircraft using such target sensors(LANTIRN). Imagine watching a helicopter (or aircraft) filming a hot air balloon.
It APPEARS the balloon is moving quite fast, when in reality, it is hardly moving. I believe these videos are analogous to that. IMHO, nothing to see here, other than a potential distraction of sorts or a practical joke. Just my 2 cents...

A dot on a video can be created almost anywhere. It's hard to believe that an F/A-18F pilot or his support crew would risk a career by posting classified video but it's been done by NSA contractors so anything is possible. It could also be some idle seaman having fun with a flight simulator.

If one was a member of an advanced civilization wouldn’t you like set down in DC and schedule a meeting with the White House instead of frequenting trailer parks and back alleys? It’s us people and we are “alone”.....
