9/11: You Said You Wouldn’t Forget. You Did.

Original Article

We came together after 9/11 as Americans. We formed a bond of unity the likes of which I could not remember save for when I was a child during World War II. Then, housewives rolled bandages at night for the Red Cross. Kids carried scrap paper and metal to school for the war effort. People proudly hung military insignias in their windows to recognize their family members who were at war. Mothers dressed their children in miniature military uniforms. In the coming decades, that unity was shredded. The Vietnam War divided the country as much as WWII united it.

After singing God Bless America with the rest of the House a couple of days after the attacks, a couple of weeks later the House demonrats turned back into evil vermin and began attacking Bush, the country and the impending war. They would have done it sooner if not for the optics. Evil never sleeps and we’re now where we are because of it

All the leftists and demoncrats didn't forget. They just pretended to be patriotic for a few months and then went right back to being the traitors and America haters that they are. They prevented the military and law enforcement from tracking muslims, they use CAIR and the SPLC as advisors, and import many thousands of somalis and other muslims who are here for only one reason... to infiltrate and force our conversion to islam. They didn't just forget. They have actively worked to continue the work of the 9/11 terrorists.

The majority of us did not forget, nor will we ever. The feeling of supreme loss and sadness was overwhelming that day. It was so shocking to watch it happen. All I could think of was those poor people and their families and friends. I can remember my mother talking about Pearl Harbor with the same horror and grief. It was a hit to the gut that left us all reeling. Now here we are 18 years later and the change in our country is appalling. We have seen more evidence than we need to see that despite what we were told, Islam is not a religion of peace. With that one phrase President Bush wiped out reality and we had to deal with the feelings of Muslims before our own. That was just too much and it has proven to be a false and wildly reckless belief. What we needed then was clear headed reality. Instead we got forced submission to a politically correct reaction that haunts us today. We needed objectivity and we got a pie in the sky lie. Now we have a Muslim Congresswoman who screams profanities against the President and another that has committed all kinds of crimes including immigration fraud. The only thing protecting these two women is the religion that we were told we cannot criticize. Look how far we have come. God bless every man, woman and child who has been intimately touched by the events of that day and those who watched and mourned from afar. God give us the strength to protect this country from our enemies both within and without our borders. God bless this country and the President. I pray we will never experience such pain again.

In 2001, Lucianne posted Shortcuts, which have morphed into Must Reads today. She posted them early each and every morning, meaning they were posted before the Towers were attacked. In retrospect, that first Shortcut of 9/11/2001 was eerie: “Troubled Skies: We begin the morning with one of our spy planes shot down over Iraq and Russian war planes buzzing our planes over the Pacific. Watch for calls today for no more Mr. Nice Guy. It’s time already.” By Wednesday, the Short Cuts had changed: “Wednesday, Sept. 12th, 2001: AN HOUR BEFORE DAWN and this gigantic engine of a city that never sleeps is trying to. It has never been so quiet here. There is no traffic. We are sealed off from the world. The tunnels and bridges are closed. People streamed out of the city yesterday and today will not be permitted back in while workers try to determined the enormity of what has happened. The death and suffering has just begun.” My favorite tidbit appeared on Thursday: “The nightly news showed Clinton on the street here in New York. He was in front of Curry in the Hurry on Lexington Avenue miles from the scene or carnage. He had his arms around a comely, crying brunette holding a picture of a missing loved one. He was feeling her .....pain. Doing something for himself, not New York. Sorry, that may be crass but my loathing for his man requires medication. What, dear God, is he doing here in the first place?” Her older son, Josh, worked at the site: “It is morning now and Josh has not returned from the "hole" where the biggest job is sorting body parts. Matching a leg to another leg, a hand to an arm. If he finds something he gives it to a medic who takes it to be logged. He and thousands are working like this hour on end.” Josh died in 2011 following injuries resulting from a fall. I got through those first couple of weeks reading Lucianne's Short Cuts before anything else. For several years you could access those incredible Shortcuts from 9/11 in her archives. I saved them in word docs, which was a very good thing, because they are no longer available.

13, yes, thanks for your comments about Lucianne. We were still in South Dakota and I was reading her site down in the basement when Mrs G2P yelled down and said a plane crashed into the Twin Towers in NYC. I asked her how bad the weather was that day in NYC, thinking someone got off course on the VFR Hudson route. She said it was clear, beautiful and not a cloud in the sky. I switched to Drudge to see if there was anything reported about it and a few minutes later, Mrs G2P said a second plane hit the towers. I ran upstairs, watched the replay of the second plane hitting the towers, looked at Mrs G2P and said, "They're not through. We're under attack." Lucianne and her tales of Josh sneaking his way into the tower site was so amazing. I wish she would write a book about it. She brought such an awful event and the aftermath down to such a personal and helpful level. What an amazing lady and amazing family during such an awful national tragedy.

As to what happened since then. We don't teach history in our schools. The history we do teach is not factual but politically correct (America is bad). Most people who were young kids or born after 9/11 don't even know it happened or they have been taught we had it coming for being an imperialistic racist nation. History will most likely repeat itself as it has many times because we don't remember or learn from it.

I relished in the sense of unity and the brief period where I didn't feel I had to hide my love of country from the scornful left least I pointlessly stir the pot of discord, primarily in the work place where I didn't get to pick the people I was around. That said I didn't mistake that brief truce in the culture war for anything other than a tactical retreat. There was a patronizing of the military, the obligatory "thank you for your service" and the use of the term hero for anyone who was in the military, not just who had indeed distinguished themselves in harms way. This from the same people who spit on returning Vietnam vets. It was all phony and I knew it and I'm sure the vast majority of you did as well. But nonetheless I did enjoy the break from the status quo where patriotism was forced underground with leftism proudly in the open, to the exact opposite. Now we have it back to pre-9/11 with a vengeance where any who dare express patriotic founding constitutional values are scorned as haters, Nazis, white supremacists, racists deplorable irredeemable domestic terrorists. The communist fifth column simply kept quiet for a while but feverishly went to work. While we were openly talking a good game of patriotism we were embracing our enemies, appeasing them and behaving as it we deserved the attack for daring to chose to live in a free country. Our bifurcation couldn't have been more obvious, some of us wanted the blood of anybody we could loosely associate with those who attacked us while others couldn't wait to embrace them by putting them in high positions of our own government. We were attacking and surrendering all at the same time. All while we avoided admitting the truth. We had allowed ourselves to be come economically dependent on an entity that hated us and looks on us with scorn. They rubbed our noses in it on 911 showing us all they could do with us and they pleased, we could pretend to be the super power but it was they who really ruled the world, Saudi Arabia. Drill baby drill, and frack like your life depends on it, because it does.

I was at a local hospital undergoing a Job Orientation, when an HR Rep came in and said the Pentagon & New York City was under attack and those that wanted could leave. We all left and my 5 minute ride home had my mind going a thousand miles a minute wondering what it all meant? When I got home the Muslim Evil was flashed on the tube's screen and my heart sank and rage for vengeance just enveloped my being! Being a Catholic Christian I just never could forgive the Pure Evil the Muslims perpetrated on humanity that 9-11 Day and their subsequent other attrocities!

Like #15, I was reading Lucianne when the first plane hit and it was reported at the top of the home page. Like everyone else, my first thought was that it was a small private plane, but when I read that it was a jetliner I got up and turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane hit. It was so surreal that I first thought I was seeing a CGI of the first plane. Then reality hit me. My husband was working in DC in an office which was near the Capitol when the plane hit the Pentagon. DC immediately became one huge traffic jam and cellular service crashed. I had no idea where he was for several hours but thought that he would not have had a reason to be at the Pentagon. But no one knew where the next attack was headed and his office was near the Capitol. For all I know Todd Beamer and his group of hero’s may have saved my husband’s life. Just imagine how different things would be today if PDT had been in office that day instead of the wish-washy Bush.

I wrote up a brief summary of my 9/11 experience under one of the other Must Reads. Ms. Lucianne, please pardon my repeating it here. "I was at the Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad, India on business during the week of 9/11 and remained there for two more weeks afterwards. It was close to 8:30pm India Time and I and my Indian colleagues were preparing to head to the dining hall for a late dinner. On the way, I just happened to walk past the TV room at the senior guest house where my colleagues were waiting for me. Dr. Kumar noticed me and called me into the room. He started crying and pointed to an old Panasonic color portable TV that was up on a shelf and it was tuned to a newscast. The first thing I saw was one of the World Trade Center Towers collapsing to the ground. The newscast was spoken in Hindi so I could only absorb the images. I thought it was a movie. But, he said America was under a terrorist attack and that the world's air transportation system had been shut down. My first thought was I would not be going home for a while. A while turned into nearly two weeks of stressful desperation trying to get flights back to the states. I will never forget the multiple levels of security I went through at Delhi International, Frankfurt International, and London Heathrow before even being allowed to board my flights. On each flight, sitting up front in business class, the first conversation among us business travelers was a plan, who would do what to knock down and kill anyone from rushing the cockpit once we were airborne. I remember everything about it like it happened yesterday. When I did finally get statewide, landed at Newark International and hugged the carpeted floor after I got off the plane so thankful to be home. Felt even better when I made it back to Denver. Those poor people who perished in the attack."

Not only did the liberal media forget, they forbade any image or remembrance of it to be shown or mentioned. Academia followed in lockstep. I know where I was, who was with me and all of us glued to a tiny TV as we, on the 27th floor of an office building wondered if we'd be next. My friend's mom worked in the Sears Tower in Chicago. They stayed in touch over the phone. What makes you think I would ever forget. When I forget my name, or when I forget my Savior, then will I no longer remember.

The Progressives/Democrats are quick to claim everything they can think of as an Existential Treat to the future of the United States for which only they have the answer. But, what do we get when they get elected? A government run medical system that we were told would take care of peoples medical needs and cost less. Instead, Obama care cost considerably more with higher deductibles. They have given CAIR, a supporter of radical Islam, the power to overrule efforts to prevent future terrorist activity. They have bankrupted cities they control and allowed deification in the streets to the extent that typhoid has has returned. They have created sanctuary cities where criminal illegal aliens are free to attack citizens. They have used Russian disinformation to attempted to overthrow the current President, It is a fact that the Progressives/Democrats are the real Existential Treat to the future of the United States.

Less than ten years later and for eight years we had a Muslim sympathizer president and now two Muslims in Congress someone certainly forgot. No, I won't 'coexist' with a murdering cult than wants to kill me and anyone they consider infidels. Obama and Hillary Clinton wanted us to believe Benghazi was over a stupid movie when we know it was a terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9-11. Terrorist Muslims won't let us forget while the anti-American haters embrace Muslims like the monster will eat them last. I won't forgive or forget the war on terror it will forever be ongoing.

I do not forget. Every time I stand in line at the airport for TSA I remember that it was the Muslims who have made me do this for 18 years. Yes, it was the entire religion of peace that did this to US. Democrats rewarded Muslims with a disastrous president whose middle name was Hussein. Omar and Talib are the newest flavor of Muslim Democrats. The best thing Dubya Bush did was to flatten Iraq. The Middle East will long remember who’s their Daddy, and that is a good thing.

Drudge's memories of 9/11 seem to have faded. In contrast, our memories remain sharp, painful and horribly sad when we contemplate on this date that stealth attack against everything cherished by America. That such treachery does exist in the hearts and minds of evil people stunned the free world. This evil enemy does exist, is filled with hate and must be defeated by those who cherish Life, Liberty & Justice for All! This enemy has proved time and again that they refuse to live in peace with all others who do not bow to their evil tyranny.

I may be in the minority here, but I have never faulted Bush for referring to Islam a "religion of peace". Consider his position at the time. His job was to promote national unity in the coming military effort against a known terrorist enemy. He made clear his belief that the vast majority of Muslims were peaceable people and that our enemy was an extreme mutant branch of that faith. And as president he had to protect the legitimate interests of a few million decent Muslim U.S. citizens who played no part in the 9/11 attacks. Whether the president's understanding of Islam was theologically sound or not is beside the point. What should he have done - declared war on the entire Muslim world? It's one thing to be Joe Barstool, quite another to shoulder the responsibilities of the most powerful man in the world. Does anyone here not continue to thank God that Bush was in charge on 9/11 and not Al Gork?

The long march through American institutions by the God-hating left began more than 100 years ago. The march through elite academia including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Berkeley and even the service academies (Spenser Rapone’s graduation from West Point is evidence) has been the key. Seven years after 9/11 the voters of the US elected an obscure leftist from Chicago with a Muslim name, no managerial experience and highly questionable associations as the president. The mechanisms by which all this was done are being revealed every day with the insufferable arrogance and tone-deafness found in the media and all misanthropic tentacles of government.

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
