I am not an expert on all of government, but I do know something about the United States Senate. As the former majority leader, I know how tough it is to get anything through the chamber, (Snip) The Senate today, after years of abusing an arcane procedural rule known as the filibuster, has become an unworkable legislative graveyard. Not part of the framers’ original vision, the modern filibuster was created in 1917. The recent use of the filibuster — an attempt by a minority of lawmakers to delay or block a vote on a bill or confirmation — has exploited this rule,

Comments:

The dRATS infanticide party must be planning to take control of the Senate after the 2020 elections. With a 51-vote margin, they would then try to send to President Trump all the bile their minds can conceive to turn US to socialism. Dangerous and "we the American people", Mr. Reid, must NEVER let this happen. Bueller?

So says the most divisive Senate Majority leader of modern times. The Senate's filibuster rule protects the minority party from being ignored by the majority party and protects the rights of the minority party, leading to compromise rather than radicalism. The burden is on the majority party to win over an adequate number of minority votes to pass legislation. Reid presided over a filibuster proof Senate and used it to pass Obamacare without a single Republican vote. I see that as a failure to compromise.

#4 There are some people that are such a relief to not have to deal with in the news anymore, McCain, Reid, Barney Frank, remember how utterly obnoxious Anthony Weiner was when he would be on the TV all the time when he was still in office. Hate that guy. Those are just a few that come to mind.

Harry seems to carry on even though he has reported pancreatic cancer. Maybe it was that excuse who kept him from being indicted. He is the scum of the earth, but look to the Democrat Nevada Legislature to rename McCarron Airport after him next year.

Nigel Farage has laid into Prince Charles again over climate change just 24 hours after using an incendiary speech on his Australian tour to blast the heir to the throne, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Mr Farage told Sky News Australia on Sunday: 'He [Prince Charles] came to the European Parliament ten years ago to tell us within seven years the polar ice cap would disappear completely. Washington - The Marine killed in action Saturday in northern Iraq alongside Iraqi forces was a 35-year-old father of two who last year was named the Marine Raider’s top commando. Gunnery Sgt. Scott A. Koppenhafer was killed during operations against an Islamic State group in the expansive Ninevah province, where efforts are ongoing to clear the remnants of the terrorist group, (Snip) The Defense Department initially announced Koppenhafer was killed by “enemy small arms fire,” however two defense officials said the investigation was examining the possibility that he had been accidentally struck by Iraqi or American fire.

As the US Navy scrambles to adopt corrective measures following a string of warship collisions earlier this year, for now they are settling for such high-tech solutions as switching to basic compass and pencil navigation, giving sailors more time to sleep and actually turning on electronic systems that have been in place for years already. (Snip) What that means is that thanks to McCain's cool stealth features, such as radio-absorptive paint and deflective surfaces, the 150-meter long Arleigh-Burke destroyer likely appeared only as a misleadingly small blip on MPA's radar.

The winner of Guatemala's presidential election, Alejandro Giammattei, said he hoped he could make changes to a controversial migration deal the Central American country signed with the Trump administration last month. Speaking to Reuters shortly before being declared victor, the conservative Mr Giammattei said he wanted to see what could be done to improve the deal that outgoing president Jimmy Morales agreed to stem US-bound migration from Central America. Mr Giammattei will not take office until January, by which time Guatemala may be under severe pressure from the deal that effectively turns the country into a buffer zone, by forcing migrants to seek refuge there rather than in the United States.
