The stifling conformity of the Great Awokening has now driven even Quentin Tarantino to the subversive right. His immensely enjoyable buddy comedy Once Upon in a Time…in Hollywood, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt at their considerable best, has The New Yorker fulminating that it’s “obscenely regressive.” Critic Richard Brody complains, “Tarantino delivers a ridiculously white movie” that “celebrates white-male stardom (and behind-the-scenes command).”
Tarantino enjoyed box office hits with Inglourious Basterds, in which Jewish-American commandos roast Hitler in a movie theater, and Django Unchained, which did something similar for slavery. Once Upon a Time carries on Tarantino’s tradition of changing history to a more crowd-pleasing ending.

While some of Tarantino’s films are entertaining; the man himself is a degenerate.

Pay attention folks the new dog whistle buzz word of the left is now the made up hoax of 'white supremacy' what ever that is.
Rush Limbaugh spent almost his entire three hours on Wednesday explaining this. White is not wrong or should be apologized for any more than black is not wrong. Getting the President to address this is a big fat hoax and waste of time. The left is trying to paint us as all being in the Klan which was all evil and was formed by the evil left after the civil war. I won't stand accused of anything by the left because they are what they accuse us of. I'm no fan of Tarantino but I might have to watch the movie when it comes out on rental.

I strongly recommend the movie, but if you're under 60 it will help to do some research on the Sharon Tate murder, the manson cult, and the Spahn Movie Ranch. The film is atypical for Tarantino - not packed with gratuitous violence and gore from the opening. The Bruce Lee scene is great - wasn't aware of the real-life connection. And kudos to the producer/writer/director for keeping the cast real. No token minorities - not even among charlie's family members.

sadly the film is not very funny, not very interesting, and Pitt and Dicaprio despite both being good actors have no synergy. As a buddy movie it fails. As satire on 1950's and 1960's TV and movies it is not very interesting. It is also way too long with endless pointless scenes that themselves are way too long. This sucker is 2 hours and 40 minutes of movie and one minute of plot. It boils down to how would 1960's TV have handled the Manson family? Well for starters and apparently enders it would have had a happy ending where the good guys kick theirs asses. I mean that is the way it always happened on TV right? The dirt bags get theirs. As a Hollywood send up echoing every cop and western you ever saw from Bonanza to The Great Escape to The FBI and even Tarantino's own Magnificent Bastards it is just way too long and tedious. It will be in and out of the movie houses well before the frost is on the pumpkin.

I graduated HS and went off to college in 1969. And the moon landings, True Grit, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, hot cars, Chemistry 201, Calculus 201, Porsche racing cars, and discovering women are all wrapped up in that glorious, amazing, very memorable year for me.
Not a fan of Tarantino, but I will think on seeing this one. That was a great year.

So, have DeCaprio and Pitt apologized yet for their starring in such a politically incorrect movie, or were they so racist they didn't realize their mistake in interpreting the script? Didn't think so. Just show me the money!

Hollywood and critics will pan this movie because the lead characters aren't female beating up men. That it takes place in the late sixties doesn't matter. With the next James Bond/007 being a black female, why should any reality creep into any film. That the main characters are white men, only makes the case for discrimination in Hollywood's eyes.

I was born in 1944 and lived through some of the best years of my life, 1944-1965. My world started to crunble apart by them. I thank God for the good years I had and did my best to survive the years after caused by the nut cases on drugs and lack of morals and ethics.

When telling a story that really has no people of color involved, what's wrong with just portraying the people that were actually involved? No token black computer hackers or jet fighter pilots. As a person of no color, I look forward to watching this movie, as it sounds interesting, and despite my disgust at the liberal political opinions of DiCaprio, he and Brad Pitt really are very good actors.
As for the late 60s California, I'm showing my age by saying I was there walking the streets of San Francisco during the so-called Summer of Love. That Summer only lasted about 3 months, as most do. By that Fall, the streets were being taken over by drug dealers and pimps, preying on the innocence of the many young people who had shown up, thinking they could live on Love. The Mansons, Epsteins and Clintons of the world loved it.

Totally agree with #6 and disagree with #7. I’m just a little, old grandma, and I loved this movie. So did my 40 year old daughter. It was well done, Pitt and DiCaprio did a great job. The scenery was fantastic, and the ending was so satisfying. I’m ready to see it again. It was that good, in my opinion.
