The question of “What ails the US press?” is too big for one column or one case study. Holman Jenkins takes it up in his Wall Street Journal Business World column this morning in the matter of the Steele Dossier.
Whence the allegations of the dossier? We still don’t know. The subhead to the column puts it this way: “The media’s lack of interest in the Steele dossier amounts to collusion in a coverup.”
The lack of journalistic interest calls for an explanation. Laziness, stupidity, herd mentality, and partisanship all seem to have something to do with the utter lack of interest in what it’s all about,

They are not "the US Press", they are The Enemedia.
They are, with a few exceptions, owned and staffed almost entirely by extremist, leftist partisans who see their job to be providing propaganda to convince the public that Republicans are evil people, and that capitalism is bad, free markets are bad and simultaneously show how wondrous and magical socialism/communism and central government control of all things is and will be.
They are entirely uninterested in any sort of "news" which does not further the propaganda motive to change the public's mind and get this country moved farther and farther to the political left.
There is no interest in discovering how the whole coup attempt against President Trump started and what criminal acts were committed in the furtherance, because they agree with the intent, and have no desire to harm those who criminally tried to further a cause (stopping Trump) that they love. They are co-conspirators, and have no interest in harming their compatriots in treasonous criminal acts.

When they stopped reporting the news and started printing agenda, the so called free press died. It's been dead a long, long time. They lied about FDR, Walter Duranty wrote lies about Stalin , the NY Times knew and printed it, lied about JFK, Nixon Clinton, Obama, both Bushes, Trump. What the MSM is really angry about is that they are no longer the only source for news. People have the internet, which is why they push to control it and people have conservative talk radio, with hosts they denigrate.

"What ails the US Press?"
Johnson explains well what ails the press. A generation of effective leftist indoctrination from academia. Stupidity. Herd mentality. Bias. Hate. Becoming social media degenerates. Evil.
Best to replace "ails" in Johnson's headline with "ailed" because the msm is dead.

Not a new thing, actually.
The US Press aided and covered for the frankly FASCIST "progressive Woodrow Wilson. Spent lots of effort knocking Herbert Hoover. Covered for the loathsome FDR, including avoiding photos of his disability, or preventing revelation that his too-delayed death was in the company of his mistress, not his wife. Covered the corruption that had put Truman into national office. Covered for JFK, including his cavorting with hookers in the White House!. Covered for LBJ's crudities. Hid the reality of the Manchurian Candidate, Buraq Hussein Soetoro.
And they've gotten away with it for over 100 years!
And we're just noticing??
Even back when Samuel Clemmons, "Mark Twain", was a reporter, many towns had not one but TWO (or more) newspapers, with very differing slants on things. Now, with the Associated Presstitutes, the "Journ O List" cabal, CNN, CBS, etc. that variation has been lost.
And they wonder why papers are dying fast, and no one (with a brain) trusts the Lame Stream Media. Why should any one?? Do you trust liars?

The Minnesota lawyers are answering questions nobody is asking. They are playing pocket-pool with themselves, mentally speaking.

FTA: What is clear is that neither his report nor testimony provide the answer. After determining that there never was a Trump-Russia conspiracy, Mueller showed no interest in investigating why so many high-placed officials said they believed there had been. His report told us what didn’t happen during the 2016 election, but shed little light on what did happen, and why.
In Maté’s reckoning, this is hole 5, and that is one big hole.

This takes the cake...! The Wall Street Journal has always had Glenn Simpson in their back pocket.
Why would Glenn and his lovely wife get into 'coups' if they weren't sucking at the teat from early on, and involved with people that do this type of thing for a hobby...?
WSJ is guilty as charged...!
20th Century Fox is guilty as charged...!

Best is reading the Wall Street Journal pieces. Since they can't be posted, almost as good is a Scott Johnson synopsis.
