“I DON’T understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can’t do and shouldn’t fight for,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Tuesday night, in the most notable zinger of July’s Democratic presidential primary debate. “I get a little bit tired of Democrats afraid of big ideas,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the other major candidate on the field’s left wing, piled on.
This got us thinking about some big ideas in U.S history. Like, say, amending the Constitution to outlaw liquor. Or sending half a million troops into Vietnam. Or passing a $1.5 trillion tax cut

Actually a readable and good point by the WaPo editorial staff. It is the first time this ever happened.

"Because the losers still make money just for running."
And, near as I can tell, they get to keep everything they don't spend.

#2. Perhaps the Washington Post is laying the groundwork for an early endorsement of Biden.

Pres. Trump made some promises he couldn't keep. Why? Because he couldn't go it alone and the Democrats and RINO's in the House stopped him. Why do these Communists think they can do anything they want to once they are President. It doesn't work that way unless your name is Obama.

When you make ridiculous claims and promise the moon, dumb (excuse the term) people can believe and eat it up. Smarter people will laugh it up, and to them the politician becomes of no consequence.

Ridiculous, shovel-ready, trillion-dollar ideas earned Obama two terms. Never underestimate the stupidity of the voters.

Speaking of ideas that can't work.....look at ALL the ideas that ANY and ALL of the dingbat, extreme leftist Dem 'candidates' have.
None of their ideas are even remotely workable. NONE.

The problem is that the democrats think they would be able to override Republicans in congress by using executive orders.
Democrats watched Obama become a dictator, using executive orders, ignoring the will of congress. He was able to get away with it because of corrupt democrats in congress, the MSM, and weak Republicans. Dem candidates see more of the same...

They are all in it just for the leftover money from the campaign..the law says they can't pocket it, but you can bet there will be some new 'foundations' started up that dump money into their pockets...

Why do Democrats constantly tell these lies?
To paraphrase Lincoln,
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
You can fool all of the people some of the time.
But, you can fool all of the Democrat voters all of the time.

The worst of them are in it solely for the money and the asterisk of " ran for president". The so called top tier have absolutely no intention of governing should any of them win. The intention is to RULE. That's what them dangerous.

The candidates are able to take a hiatus from their elected offices to run for higher office, add donor monies to their war chests, and if unsuccessful, are able to step back into their elected positions, and pocket the cash. It's a win-win.

So the problem here is NOT that their ideas are completely unworkable or beyond the ability of our economy to fund, even if we tax everyone at 90%. The problem is that the Dems don't do a good enough job of saying we can't afford them?!?
