Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., suggested on Saturday that her presidential campaign plan to combat climate change was analogous to former President John F. Kennedy's efforts to put a man on the moon. "The Apollo 11 mission is a perfect reminder that if we dream big enough, fight hard enough, and invest in American ingenuity, we can accomplish incredible things," she tweeted after promoting her "Green Manufacturing Plan." "In fact, we can protect our planet for generations to come," Warren added. Her comments came on the 50th anniversary of the first time man walked on the moon. You mean we will spend a lot of time, money & effort on the program to achieve the first goal and then abandon it, saying "see what we did?" BTW, all that money spent on getting to the moon? No one single dollar of it was actually sent to the moon. It was all spent here on Earth, by humans.

Thin Lizzie has grandiose delusions of adequacy. Her Green Manufacturing Plan -- what an dreary and unimaginative name that is -- well, it´s going to be a LOT like putting a man on the moon. I´d like to think she´s kidding, but since she´s utterly humorless, she may just be serious. So, I have to ask: What the hell is a Green Manufacturing Plan? It has an unmistakable Stalinist ring to it. Are any actual manufacturers even aware of it? Or will they simply be deported to the Gulag? So many questions...

The Democrats’ 2020 theme is that you are terrible and the party’s slogan will be “Americans suck, vote for us.” The precise candidate who will employ it is not important because they all embrace the notion that punishing the essential moral failure of you and me and every other Normal American is the key goal of the Donkey Party. That goes equally for the Handsey Old Prospector, the Socialist Squaw, Crusty the Commie, Spartacus Sharpton, Starchild, the Furry, Not Ms. Willie Brown, the Unfabulous Gay Guy, and the many Unfabulous Ungay Guys. The recent tragic drowning in the Rio Grande of a young father from El Salvador, Óscar Alberto Martínez Ramírez, and his two-year old daughter Angie, sparked recriminations across the political spectrum. Democrats pounced on the Trump administration’s immigration policies, while President Trump blamed House Democrats’ failure to pass legislation to fix the nation’s immigration laws. Apart from the Washington rhetoric, El Salvador’s president blamed something else: his own country’s economic and crime challenges. While it is unlikely that the conditions El Salvador’s president describes would justify a migrant’s approval for asylum in the U.S., migrants keep coming. To obtain asylum, a migrant must establish a credible fear of persecution

Certain must-pass ideological litmus tests have arisen for the 25 declared candidates (so far) seeking the Democratic Party presidential nomination. Perhaps chief among them is subscription to the belief that the American criminal-justice system is racist and overly punitive. This Democratic unanimity makes sense in light of the criticism that many of the leading candidates have faced from activists, left-wing media, and other, more “woke,” presidential hopefuls for their earlier acceptance, or even endorsement, of proactive policing, quality-of-life enforcement, and incarceration as reasonable methods of combating crime. JOE BIDEN’S ROLE IN ’90S CRIME LAW COULD HAUNT ANY PRESIDENTIAL BID, ran a prescient 2015 New York Times headline.

The Washington Post made an editorial decision to label “racist” President Trump’s tweet suggesting that four radical, America-bashing congresswomen leave the country. The tweet isn’t racist, and the explanation for the editorial decision is so weak that it must be a pretext for printing “Trump” and “racist” together repeatedly in headlines and news stories. The Post’s ploy is annoying and amusing, at the same time. But there’s nothing funny about the Post’s editorial decision to call Antifa “antifascists.” Antifa calls itself antifascist but, as I argued here, a serious newspaper wouldn’t take their word for it. As Douglas Murray observes, the exact meaning of “fascist” is hazy because the word has been overused.

He can’t pay us less than what he wants every American to be paid, his staffers rightly reasoned. So they’ve complained to management and the complaints leaked

Detroit-based DTE Energy said Sunday afternoon that roughly 600,000 customers were affected because of storms in southeast Michigan Friday and Saturday. The case is full of horrifying details, from Epstein’s elite social circle, to his private “Pedophile Island,” to his friendship with Donald Trump. But the part of the story that’s often missing is the voices of Epstein’s accusers. This is partly by design. Epstein and his lawyers have worked for years to keep his victims out of the press. According to the Miami Herald, Epstein’s accusers have already filed two-dozen lawsuits against him, some dating back at least as far as 2009.

Elon just admitted something that is getting very little coverage — and no explanation. He announced that Tesla will no longer be selling the “affordable” $35,000 Model 3 he promised would be Tesla’s first mass-market electric car. Like so many of Elon’s promises, that one’s out the window, too. The price of the least expensive Tesla just rose to $39,000. Well, technically $38,990 — to make it go down easier. That’s still a $4k decrease in “affordability” — and a reality check. Elon is admitting that electric cars aren’t mass-market cars.
