Should Beto O’Rourke Drop Out?

Original Article

Many of the Beto O’Rourke faithful in Texas, people who supported him during his 2018 Senate race, have now reached the same conclusion: Beto should drop out of the presidential race. In a Quinnipiac poll from early June, 60 percent of Texas Democrats said they preferred that O’Rourke suspend his presidential campaign and run against Senator John Cornyn instead. Just 27 percent said they’d rather he continue his presidential bid. Since then, his national poll numbers have dropped significantly—one recent poll of New Hampshire voters found that O’Rourke had 0.0 percent support in the state.

At one point a few months ago, I was certain the Democratic ticket for 2020 would be O"Rourke/Abrams. But then skateboard Bobby O began eating 'dirt' and having his teeth cleaned on social media. From there it was all downhill. A monumental collapse. Poor donors. No way to get their money back on this bad bet.

1) Drop out and run against Cornyn? OK, go ahead and that will be the last time we hear of Beeto. Cornyn may be a Rino, but his machine is well oiled and would squish Beeto like a bug. 2) Beeto crashing and then becoming a cabinet member like Rick Perry? Please. The dem candidate would have to win, and then appoint Beeto as Secretary of Walks.

It is plainly obvious that he was nothing more than a media creation like Nobama. He embarrasses himself more and more every time he opens his mouth. He proposes nothing new from the others but now he is exposed as a fake, dropping out to run against John Cronyn would be foolish because Chuck U. Schumer has already put his name on MJ Hegar. Former gubernatorial candidate Chris Bell is also in the race against Cronyn who is running to the right now that he is up for the-election. At this point, Beta needs to keep apologizing and degrading himself and he will eventually figure out there is nothing he can do to sink low enough to get elected but to claim being black, transgender, or an illegal alien

And now it is Tom Friedman’s turn to panic about the Democrats’ sharp turn to the left. Savor some yummy samples from his column yesterday: I’m struck at how many people have come up to me recently and said, “Trump’s going to get re-elected, isn’t he?” And in each case, when I drilled down to ask why, I bumped into the Democratic presidential debates in June. I think a lot of Americans were shocked by some of the things they heard there. I was. I was shocked that so many candidates in the party whose nominee

Of all the great debates—Coke versus Pepsi, boxers versus briefs, shaken versus stirred—few have been more polarizing than chocolate versus vanilla. Those of us aligned with chocolate—the product of ground, roasted cacao beans—find it warm, comforting, ambrosial, and generally dismiss all things unchocolate as “vanilla,” meaning bland and boring. Those who prefer vanilla, a climbing orchid that bears long podlike fruit, praise its aromatic sweetness and note that it enhances the flavor of chocolate, which unembellished would be dull and kind of flat—in short, vanilla. The one aspect of the chocolate-and-vanilla divide that has seldom been disputed is the question of provenance. But over the last year two new studies

"Justice on Trial” is a political thriller about sex, power, and lawyers. In this excellent book, Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist and Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network have provided the definitive account of Brett Kavanaugh’s ascent to the Supreme Court. Both authors were part of the confirmation battle. In addition to her work at The Federalist, Hemingway is a regular on Fox News. Severino’s group supported Kavanaugh with millions of dollars in advertising. Following his confirmation, the authors interviewed more than 100 crucial actors in this political drama, including the president, Supreme Court justices, high-ranking officials, and dozens of senators.

It’s possible to build a model rocket in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert, but those who live in the remote West Texas border town of Presidio face an extra challenge: the nearest Home Depot is nearly four hours away, in Odessa. So, Presidio High School’s rocketry club typically goes to the local Dollar Tree to purchase many of their rocket-building materials instead. Dish sponges and cardboard, petroleum jelly and duct tape—those are a few of the items that the group of Presidio teenagers bought for a few dollars during recent trips to the store. Once those household items were hooked up to a fifty-newton, four-inch-tall motor and fueled

Ideology, too: Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib belong to the Democratic Socialists of America. "Our nation is at an historic moment," Pelosi said in January. "Two months ago,
