Fascism, Communism, Nazism -- all gifts tStill, the control freaks of the left are do the world from Europe. Now it's nonsensical worries about climate change resulting in deliberately built-in inefficiencies in everything from household appliances to transportation methods.
Compared to the U.S., Europe’s love of control-down economics leaves it in the dust:
“The US GDP is five times that of Germany, seven times that of France and UK, 10 times of that of Italy, and 14 times of that of Spain in 2018.” And when the UK leaves the EU as I predict it will, the gap will be much larger.

FTA: ''Among the general population, a full 80 percent believe that “political correctness is a problem in our country.” Even young people are uncomfortable with it, including 74 percent ages 24 to 29, and 79 percent under age 24. Youth isn’t a good proxy for support of political correctness -- and it turns out race isn’t, either.''
Clarice should mention that about 95% of the so-called ''media'' love PC and that it's one of their favorite weapons to attack conservatives.

She's right. Using cars make us more productive, give us more choices, allow us more freedom. Why the constant attack? I'm in University of Michigan town, Ann Arbor, and they've cut out car lanes to put bike lanes everywhere (meanwhile, the streets are often in such bad repair, it's suicide to bike). WHY put bikes next to cars? There are plenty of parallel streets that could be devoted to bikes. Safely. Leaving extra lanes for the cars.

FTA … Portland expects 500,000 new residents by 2040.. Not from Texas unless they're just passing through if you get my drift.

Clarice is right about Washers (mine takes 40 minutes to do a load), Dryers (mine takes 50 minutes) and The new and improved dishwashers (which I now have after 13 years with the last one) take twice as long as the old ones! Tell me why that is more efficient!

Ah, that famous Energy Policy Act. My personal pet peeve is the extending of Daylight Saving time. It was supposed to be a trial, but I've never been able to find anything more about it. We all know that it did not save energy - and we could have told those geniuses that, back then.

Total agreement, #2. Additionally, if you read it twice, you should get CEU credit! I just remembered about built-in obsolescence which I only heard about as a freshman in high school. Clarice is a great educator for those of us who excelled in school but missed certain social clues about what has been going on as we raised children and welcomed grandchildren all the while keeping a home and working outside it. Hooray for Clarice's statement about bicycle lanes! (When I'm president, I will have all non-motor bikes relegated to country lanes or neighborhood sidewalks.)

Like gun control. Not so much about the guns, but about control.
Communists are all about control. Once the reality of communism starts setting in people want no part of it, even if they stupidly voted it in, and they want to reverse it. But the Communists are totalitarians, and do NOT want things to revert back - look at Venezuela, only the latest example in a string of 100% horror show failures.

Our new dishwasher takes 3+ hours to complete a load, and the ordained 'no-phosphates' detergent leaves gray film on the dishes and glasses. Still hanging on to our old top-loader washer and dryer. A new pair is $2000 and don't use enough water to clean properly.

Once again, Clarice Feldman nails it. Reminds me of the saying "“Inside Every Progressive Is A Totalitarian Screaming To Get Out" (Source: https://imarriedanangel.wordpress.com/2017/08/22/inside-every-progressive-is-a-totalitarian-screaming-to-get-out). The issue is and always will be the selfishness, deceit, unbridled ambition, arrogance and greed residing in the human heart.
Socialists want the utopian power to control the wealth of this nation. But, take a good, hard look at the leftist elites pushing for socialism and those ignoring said push. Most of them are wealthy and their wealth is sheltered. Which means they will not be subject to the "chaos and misery" their policies create. Their families and friends/sycophants will not miss a meal and they will not be standing in bread lines. They will have the best health care. They will not lose their livelihood, savings, jobs or homes. They can afford to pay others to do their laundry, run their chores, and drive them around. They will not have to live in fear of the lawless or even see the truly wretched refuse they've welcomed with open borders and supported with deficit spending. They will continue to live as they always have and enjoy the protection of armed security guards. They want the power to control your life knowing full well they will never, ever be subject to that control themselves. Witness our elected representatives in Congress who routinely exempt themselves or use their power to skirt their own laws, rules and regulations.
In this country, should a socialist-communist-marxist cabal and their leftist enablers ever gain the political power and control that they desperately crave, we will suffer. But, they and their families will not. Socialism will suit them just fine.
