Me too, Alicia. "I grow humans. What's your superpower?" While I didn’t grow my daughter but adopted her, when raising her as a stay at home mom I was frequently asked if I worked and I always responded that I had the most important job on the planet - raising a child.

Brilliant, as usual for Alicia! "Feminism", as it is currently passed off, is all about getting even and giving pay-back for hurts real and imagined. It should be about nothing more than being treated fairly ... no matter who you are. If I was blessed with a daughter, I would not allow anyone to tell her she couldn't be a fireman, cop, in the military, play ball, etc. simply BECAUSE she was a girl. If she could meet a set and fair standard, then all doors should be open to her. "Equal pay for equal work" really only applies on an assembly line type of situation where everything can be measured. In sports, entertainment, art, etc. if no one pays to see you --- why should you be paid what the man makes in salary when thousands (if not millions) more want to see him play/act/sing/ etc? He pulls in millions of dollars for the work he does ... but the comparable woman no one wants to watch makes one-third. But she wants to be paid "the same" as the man. Why? The commercials for the men's World Cup soccer raised about $480 billion worldwide while the woman's raised less than a billion dollars.

Megan whatshername is a showboater. It’s all about Megan. She doesn’t give a damn about the team except as she considers it an extension of (or backdrop for?) her and her self-purported wonderfulness. She and her WNBA partner are part of a group that appears to be lesbianizing women’s sports. Good luck with that… the ultimate turnoff.

Jaelene Hinkle, a wonderful soccer player and a black woman wasn't picked for the team. She is a Christian who didn't want to wear a pride jersey and thinks marriage should be between one man and one woman. If the women's all-white soccer team had been believing Christians or Jews, the press would be all over them, condemning them for their hate. But they are down with the gay so that covers a multitude of sins. We are living in crazy town.

Alicia Colon never fails to be the sharp gleam of intelligence giving interest even to the dullest dumbed-down day. A talent I hope will keep us enriched for many years to come! Good to learn, to, about Gal Gadot's witty maxim. It reminds me of how Elizabeth Anscombe of Cambridge University --- arguably the greatest woman philosopher of all time, and multi-mother --- reacted when some of her philosophy students wrote on a blackboard, "Anscombe Breeds." This was after she had given birth to her seventh. Anscombe, a Catholic, didn't take offense. She simply added to it so it read "Anscombe Breeds Immortal Beings."

There is equal pay for equal work. Some people just don't like how equal work is determined. When you are in the entertainment field the customers define who's work is of what value. What Megan Rapinoe wants is for an elite government official to overrule the free will of the people. I'm sorry darling but your fellow citizens aren't all that into you and the answer isn't to force them to succumb to your will. You lost to 15 year old boys for chrissakes, you think you are of equal market value as an athlete? And I want to play in the lingerie football league and if they don't pay me as much as the other players it's because they are bad people not because there's no market to watch old fat slow men play football in drag.

For me soccer as entertainment ranks somewhere between bowling and curling. It's people in shorts running up and down a field trying to kick a ball into a goal. Once in a blue moon the ball goes into the hole and they hug each other for 10 minutes. But if you enjoy this don't let a few flakes spoil it for you. I enjoy football which is just jocks running into each other. But I don't let the idiots who want to use their jockdom to bore me with their politics spoil it for me. Whenever I see someone who has dyed their hair it reminds me of when I was little and my Mother would give me and my sister baby chickens that had been dyed for Easter. Am not pro chicken but I wouldn't do that to anyone or anything.

It’s really sad because they - at least the face of the team - seems to think that in order to be respected as strong women, she needs to speak and behave in coarse, arrogant ways. What’s Ugly on men is ugly on women. They are controlled by their pride and self-centeredness and anger. The only answer is Jesus. So I lift them up in prayer, all who are so inflicted, now that my own anger and disgust has dissipated because I remember I have been pretty ugly myself many times. Lord, have mercy upon these women who are controlled by sinful hearts and may Your Spirit fall on their hearts and make them know they are in need of a Savior, so that they turn and follow Him and are saved, and grow in His image. In Christ’s Name I pray.

The reality of the matter is purple haired Meghan is on a national team that was recruited from a population of over 325 million people in the USA that defeated a foreign national team in the finals of the World Championships that was recruited from a population of about 17 million people, the Netherlands. That fact alone was bound to result in a great imbalance of on field talent favoring the USA team. That is not being talked about in the US media, because the USA turned out to be the winner. It’s just common sense that no professional sports league could survive for very long if their teams had such a great imbalance of talent that equates to a top ten college football team playing a top ten high school football team. But all that was not the fault of the US woman’s soccer team.

The makeshift planter boxes are Peter Mozgo’s creations — roughly 140 of them lined up on the sidewalk to prevent homeless people from pitching tents outside his business. Mozgo acquires the boxes from a Bell Gardens company that imports ginger, paints them firetruck red, pays $120 per cubic yard for dirt and then uses a $900 trailer to haul it all back to his neighborhood on the south end of downtown Los Angeles. Like many L.A. residents and business owners, the 49-year-old says he is frustrated by the growing homelessness crisis — and the city’s often uneven response to it.
