I recently watched a German-made political movie, The Lives of Others, which was released back in 2006. Every American should take the opportunity to watch this movie, for it portrayed the destructive consequences for the people and a society living under what was formally an all-powerful East German police state.
The East German state police agency, the Stasi, was granted virtually unlimited power to monitor and spy on the lives of their citizens with the objective of maintaining absolute control over all aspects of the personal and professional lives of its people.

Yes, Yes, "The Lives of Others" is a great movie. Watched it several years ago on recommendation of Rush Limbaugh. Forewarned is forearmed or something. Recommend an article, also in American Thinker, dated June 30. 2019, by Ruth King. Article entitled, "Katie Hopkins explores Europe's loss of Its Homeland". Mrs. Hopkins documentary, Homelands, is embedded in Ruth king's article. Worth watching as well.
Two things I wish would happen:
1) more people in the media would admit there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration. (I am child of legal immigrants.) and
2) some super super wealthy American would create some competition for social media whose motives are different than our present Technocrats.

FTA … Creating new government rules and regulations brings along mechanisms for compliance and enforcement and an increased stratification of society between an elite that rules and masses that must obey the rules.
We know who the elite are and are waiting way too patiently to see that the rules apply to them also. I think every upper level bureaucrat should have to abide by a dress code that says they wear an orange jumpsuit to the office everyday just in case they start getting ideas.

If Comey, Brennan, and their underlings don't go to jail, it will show that it has already happened.

With all the shenanigans going on with the CIA, NSA, FBI and the previous administration capturing all our data, how do we know that we are/were experiencing "The Lives of Others - American-style? I went into East Berlin via Checkpoint Charlie, in '67. You could almost "feel" eyes on you. Stasi even monitored what TV channel you were turned to. You could not tune to a western station without fear of arrest.
Recommend the movie to all.

Americans are in a state of denial...it can't happen here. The government is by and for the people...the police are our heroes...we need greater security than ever...let's all around the world share our common aspirations and a Coke...
Particularly in the wake of 9/11, despite many warning of what was likely to come, the public turned to the government for security and supported the expansion of the "protective state" that included all those agencies part of the Deep State, and providing them with wide ranging authorities via the Patriot Act and other vehicles. Money was thrown at all levels of law enforcement, and excess military equipment farmed out to every Barney Fife asking.
And here we are. How are those "protections", like the FISA courts, working for you?
We did it to ourselves. USA! USA! USA!

When Does the Deep State Morph into the Police State in Our Country? Dittos to #7. It happened about January 20, 2009. Trump reminds me of that graphic of Atlas, holding up the earth with his arms and shoulders. Only Trump is holding our heads above water. God give him strength.

The key point made by #7 and #8 is "it happened...". Despite all the checks and balances. What happened was a corruption of the government intelligence and law enforcement apparatus that was not hard to predict, and many did. We traded liberty for security. And fast forward to today...where are all the honest, hard working, patriotic agents and others who certainly had some knowledge of the skullduggery that became the coup? What about the FISA courts that were used to legitimize and hide the goings-on? Our "most trusted", who deal in national security, are still trading duty for pensions, hoping that the "insurance policy" doesn't unravel too far. They could all get the Lois Lerner treatment, too. Certainly, they're all trustworthy now, aren't they?

Get all the muslim immigrants out of our country by forced deportation back to their points of origin. Prior our allowing muslims to immigrate here our Federal government never needed to spy on everyone (aka NSA sweeps), in fact the NSA was specifically prohibited from monitoring U.S. citizens within the U.S. But since the 1980's we've been importing islamic "refugees" to come here, basically because they want a job. In reality way too many of them become sleeper cells for islamic terror and used for "chain migration" of younger, more radicalized muslims. Result being that the NSA/CIA/FBI use that poor immigration policy become a Federal manufactured "crisis" to empower them to spy on American citizens within the USA. Unless a muslim male has converted to Christianity, he is not a refugee, so send every one of them packing... DEPORT!

Let me ask: Could your pre-teen child set up a summer lemonade stand without getting hassled by the cops?
