Trump's Independence Day Speech

Original Article

It was excellent. Even CNN, in a report to which Jim Acosta contributed, couldn’t find fault with anything Trump said, although it took the obligatory shots at the event itself. CNN acknowledged that Trump’s speech was not political, but rather “a message of national pride.” Unfortunately, the matter of national pride has become political. But there was nothing in the speech that anyone would have found objectionable before left-liberals rejected the notion of pride in America. There was nothing in the speech that any patriotic American rationally can find objectionable today. You have to dislike America to dislike what Trump said to the crowd on the Mall. This includes the part

The Enimedia and Fake News Networks have self identified themselves all over again. They are too wicked to be embarrassed at how far they have sunk. Even now Socialists, progressives and liberals must be asking why they share the blame for this shunning of America and all the good it stands for. And all this on the Fourth of July.

Trump has made several presidential speeches that have been exceedingly high quality, uplifting, noteworthy even by his opponents, at least by the ones not totally lost to TDS and hatred. This shows a characteristic of which you could ask little more of any president. He and his speech staff KNOW how to craft an excellent message and Trump delivers masterfully. Remember this when someone suggests that Trump is not "presidential" enough. Then remember the actions of his opponents; their snarky attitude, their mangled speeches, their lack of rational thought, their willingness to demean their country as "never that great" to attack Trump. We are facing a clear choice in 2020 between a highly competent and successful leader who clearly loves this great Country and wishes her and ALL her people well vs. a group of leaders and people who despise this Country and much of her People and want to turn it into something that is based on envy, greed, and hatred and failed political philosophies.

President Trump was reminding the nation, and the world, what the Democrats, the Left, wants to take away - our independence, our freedoms, our chance to prosper. It was a stark reminder of what's at stake, should the Left ever, God forbid, acquire power again.

It was a magnificent speech, far above what is thought of as a “presidential” speech. It soared. His heart and soul were in it. So were ours as we listened. While lesser persons pick away, he is a great man. Even those of us who supported him had no idea of the greatness that was within him...

My local newspaper covered the various protests during the celebration in gleeful detail along with the fact that President Trump who they mentioned is always worried about crowd size was afraid the crowd would be small. They glossed over the actual celebration in one or two sentences. Typical.

My wife and I are both former military and you really appreciate what the President did on the 4th of July speech about our great nation. We sit and recall about our times serving our country and how proud of the uniforms we wore in our youth. We often commented about seeing the President and First Lady and the contrast from the previous ugly un-American first couple. We would have had a different speech from that America hating buffoon and his hubris making the celebration about himself. Yes it was an uplifting day for us.

Somehow, this 4th of July took on a more urgent and determined meaning than it ever has. I suppose it’s because we are so perilously close to losing this country we all love so much. And, it is that love of country and freedom that just oozes off President Trump. In a world of global sewage, the patriots have been given their voice back, and it feels, not only good, but righteous. It was a marvelous speech, delivered as only Trump can. And, right next to him was our lovely First Lady, a woman of grace, elegance and class. Even the rain had significance, as Trump pushed through the dark skies to deliver his message. Thank you, President Trump, and all who had a hand in producing this celebration. It feels good to be an American, again. Those of us who could not be there in person were with you in spirit.

Here we are in the midst of a once-in-a-half-century pandemic, with the economy flattened, millions of people unemployed, and unrest on the streets of our cities. And President-elect Joe Biden says that one of his highest priorities as president will be to reenter the Paris climate accord. President Trump kept his "put America first" promise and pulled the United States out of this Obama-era treaty. Biden wants us back in. Why? Paris is an unmitigated failure. You don't have to take my word for it. National Geographic, a supporter of climate change action, recently ran the numbers and admitted in its recent headline: "Most countries aren't hitting 2030 climate goals."

Teachers unions have been instrumental in keeping American schools online during the pandemic. But some have escalated their positions on reopening to include an array of social justice demands. A set of demands from teachers unions in July, which addressed how to safely reopen schools amid a pandemic, was criticized by The Wall Street Journal editorial board as “political extortion.” The board argued that unions were taking advantage of a health crisis to advance their own ideological agendas and to eliminate competition from charter schools.

President Trump granted a pardon to Michael Flynn, his former national-security adviser, today. Flynn had pled guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations, during the 2016 transition, with the Russian ambassador about sanctions. Flynn’s pardon should bring to an end one gross violation of the Constitution’s separation of powers, even as it gives rise to groundless accusations of another. Although Flynn had pled guilty, the circumstances of the case had raised serious concerns about whether the government had proceeded properly. The FBI, for example, questioned Flynn even though it did not appear he had violated any law. In May, Attorney General William Barr ordered the case dropped.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
