Just in time for the Fourth of July, Nike and washed-up footballer Colin Kaepernick have joined forces in an America-bashing cavalcade. The enormous sportswear company planned to release a new red, white, and blue sneaker adorned with American Revolutionary Betsy Ross’ 13-star flag, this country’s first banner.
However, Kaepernick complained to Nike that this all-American symbol is – what else? – racist. “After images of the shoe were posted online, Mr. Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

Lacking the ability to "Jump", white folk also lack the inclination to pay $375.00 for sneakers.
Nike knows EXACTLY what they are doing and this whole thing was a set-up from the git-go.

Can people really afford to pay that much for a pair of sneakers? They were nice but that would be my food budget for 3+ months. Not only that, I would be inclined to never wear them. I live where there is dirt and mud, no sidewalks at my house!

Still important trivia: Betsy Ross was a Quaker and thus an abolitionist.
The Quakers were instrumental in banning slavery in England, were the backbone of the Underground Railroad, and key proponents in standing firm in the Civil War.
So serious a religious belief, you’d get kicked out of their church and shunned in public and private. Families would disown you.

Nike has been taken over by lefties that would rather play politics instead of running a business. 90% of their sneakers are over $100. For sneakers! That's ridiculous! How do they stay in business? Their business is run on hype and reputation. That cannot last. They have to have an affordable product.

Sadly, Nike is not an isolated case. More and more, Corporate America is letting its Twitter accounts decide its "public image." Example: Visa, in order to appeal to perhaps 1.5% of the population that calls itself "transgender," recently announced that it was modifying its system to allow those conflicted by sexual identity to be known by the name of their choice, and encouraged banks who work with them to do the same. Not to be outdone, Mastercard quickly followed suit.
Slowly but surely, conservatives are finding themselves having to deal with yet another major component of our national structure that has been co-opted into advancing the liberal/democrat agenda.

#5 is totally correct. Nike does live off of their reputation. They just made a terrible business decision by caving in to this bitter racist whack job in order to blatantly disrespect the majority of their customers.

And sadly there are millions who frankly "don't know much about history" (old song lyric) and could care less because wearing Nike shoes their message to the world that they, A have money, and/ B are cool. Or believed the message that they were the 'best'. I went to Paris with a friend who was proud of her big pink Nike shoes, you could see her coming 4 blocks off.

Nike wouldn't survive if the welfare crowd didn't buy their $100 Chinese shoes. What's that? How do people on welfare afford those shoes? Good question!

There are plenty of other shoe companies posting their red white and blue themed shoes all over twitter. I hope this comes back to haunt Nike big time.

First with my small disposable income I wouldn't buy their 'ghetto jumpers' to begin with. Second Kaepernick, the no talent racist hustler, now runs the company and practically owns Nike. The thing about owning and wearing expensive sneakers in the 'hood' will get you murdered by a thug who wants to steal them off of your dead body. Adios Nike.

Because America's 'leftists' (the minority) are extremely hateful, loud, aggressive and threatening, some in our country (who comprise the majority) have the misguided notion we 'must' comply with the leftists' demands and do exactly as they tell us. Sickening and disheartening; also frightening.

I had never been a fan of boycotts, but this was the last straw for me. The number of companies aligning themselves with the insane leftists and their insane agenda has finally pushed me over the edge. Now I not only want to personally boycott their products, I want to help destroy these companies. It's the only way we're going to be able to teach every company like them that we're not going to allow them to destroy our history, our culture, and ultimately our country.

Forget Nike, just don't buy their products. Do celebrate our nation, go to a baseball game on the fourth, have family over and do a Bar-B-Q, go see a fireworks show.
Do something that will put a smile on your face, but remember the sacrifices made that allowed us to live in a free republic.
Happy Fourth of July

Nike can’t risk alienating or “offending” the generally low information population group that is seeped in racial politics who are their primary customers for very high priced Nike sneakers shelling out hundreds of dollars a pair.
If you don’t like the recent Nike anti-American decision regarding dumping the Betsy Ross flag sneakers the answer is to no longer purchase Nike products.

This .is nothing but the true racism that is running rampant in the black community (certainly not all, but the "in" crowd) and I simply suggest we all send a message to any team that displays the nike symbol on their uniforms. After all, by doing so, they are supporting the anti-American racists of the left

Dems and Nike: why not just ask Kaepernick which, if any, of the American flags meet with his approval?? If none, perhaps you could pay him to design one so that he won't ever be offended by one again...

I think Nike is getting exactly what they want out of this - controversy and free publicity. This story made the national news, cable news, all of social media, etc..
Remember back when Kaepernick first started his clown show by taking a knee? What did Nike do? Hired him as a spokesman and it was all over the news. Now they're doing it again in a slightly different way. I think they know exactly who their primary customers are; part of me wants to believe this is all very calculated.

Surely in the outstanding academic career of Mr. Kaepernick, he researched fully any Fro'd out gentlemen of color who may have had a part in America's founding. He should let us know who that was so we can ALL celebrate that accomplishment. Then, after a few years we can start trashing that particular founder and destroy any statues that were possibly unveiled in his honor.

you can probably bet the ranch that Capperstink did not know anything about the Betsy Ross flag..he has "minders" that tell him what he is going to protest..that minder is his Muslim girlfriend...she controls the puppet strings on this clown.his adoptive(white) parents must be thrilled...since they have always come out backing him up..
