If you thought that Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s Jussie Smollett fiasco couldn’t get any worse, it quite clearly can.
At least for her. But not for the people of Cook County. It was a great day for the people.
And it was a great day for retired appellate Judge Sheila O’Brien, who figured, like so many of you, that Foxx’s handling of the Smollett case and her office’s decision to drop the charges against him smelled like the gutters in an alley off the Chicago Way.
On Friday, Cook County Judge Michael Toomin ruled in support of O’Brien’s petition that a special prosecutor be appointed to reinvestigate

I hope being a Friend of Michelle costs her something to remember.

Smollett and his family are the friends of the Obama's.
Foxx is one of the State's Attorneys across the nation who received money from George Soros.

There is a principle in the law called 'res judicata' which means, approximately, that the matter has been settled. (although 7 members of the U.S. Supreme Court last week, didn't seem to be aware of that principle)
The state of Illinois ended the case against Jussie by fining him $10,000.
The federal government could have, and should have, charged Jussie with a hate crime. But if they eventually get around to that, the U.S. Supreme Court, under Chief Judas John Roberts, will rediscover res judicata, I suspect.

This is fun to watch, but in the end the result will probably be the same. Nothing really happens to anybody. Yeah, I know my skepticism id showing again.

John Kass' columns. Some of the VERY few things I miss about Chicago.

#3, that might be true if he had pleaded guilty, but he didn’t. The forfeiture of the bail was for dropping the charges, not because the matter had been decided. I’m sure he would argue otherwise, but I don’t think he would be successful.

In Chicago, Special Prosecutor equals expensive whitewash.

second post apologies, but, #6, we don't know what he pled or didn't, because Foxx speaks in muddled terms.
She implied that the 10,000 dollars was sort of a fine.

It may look like Jussie skated but he will suffer humiliation for the rest of his life and so will this Foxx fraud. Being identified as a friend of the Obamas isn't exactly an honor either. Being of color, stupid, weirdly deviant of sexual identity and having a false sense of entitlement is not a smooth way to go through life. The handling of his crimes has also reduced our already-diminished respect for the laws that are supposed to apply to all US citizens.

Has anyone found out Jussie’s connection to Mrs kamala Harris Brown? Is she his aunt? Inquiring minds etc.

This could also cost Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama as well. It was the aide of Moochie's who got involved in this in the first place. I suspect that Kamala is the choice of the Obama's for next year, and she will be protected. Foxx has also said she considers Kamala a mentor and friend. This does indeed smell like an alley in the ghetto of Chicago.

Chicago, still deeply corrupt in all things, as always.

I recall the Kamala Harris - Jussie Smollett connection was to promote her anti-lynching legislation..

We do know that he did not plead guilty. The charges were dropped. The forfeiture of the bail was an odd thing but not an admission of guilt.

The media keeps forgetting to state that Smolett also faces Federal charges from the Post Office. I think they are hoping we forget that charge. I want to see about Moochelle's involvement in this case.
