Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell, a 2020 hopeful, reiterated his gun control agenda in front of the National Rifle Association’s headquarters Monday, and the organization hit back by mocking the event’s turnout.Swalwell covered key points of his plan, which include an assault-style gun “buyback” program, where owners are forced to turn in their weapons, keep them in third-party gun storage or face jail time. Video of the event seemed to show a meager turnout. “There is nothing that we propose here today that is at odds with what this organization claims they stand for,” Swalwell said during the rally,

Let's be very clear. All of these plans are NOT the plan. Nothing any Democrat says about guns in the public eye is the real plan because they know the kind of gun control they really want is not a winning issue. Total gun confiscation is their only plan and that doesn't fly with anyone with the sense God gave a goose. Disarming the populace turns citizens into subjects and that is just what they want for us pesky peasants. They truly believe they, our "betters", know what is best for us.

There is no such thing as an assault weapons buyback program. The so-called assault weapons that he and the Democrats are talking about are nothing more then semi-automatic pistols, rifles, and shotguns that make up the majority of modern firearm in common legal usage throughout the USA these days. If all those firearms were to be banned the US population would have to fall back on revolvers, single shot and bolt action rifles, and single and slide action shotguns for their protection. Whose to say that the Democrats would not come after those obsolete firearms next?

"...the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" seems to be a concept beyond the comprehension of the "left." Yet they fully support "rights" that are "emanations from penumbras of other rights" as made-up by justices who will tie themselves into verbal knots to argue the Constitution does not mean what it says.

#5, according to the SCOTUS back in1939, what ought to be in common legal usage would be whatever is in common usage by the military. Another example of how the fedgov is way over-stepping their limits in this Republic. The power to tax isn't the power to ignore constitutional limits. Neither is stare decisis.

What is VJ Day? VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, marks the allied victory over Japan in World War II. (Snip) VJ day is celebrated on different dates in different nations. For example, V-J Day is August 15 in the United Kingdom; that’s the date of the initial announcement of Japanese surrender. In the United States, however, V-J Day refers to September 2 — the day in 1945 on which the surrender of the Empire of Japan was actually formalized, marking the end of World War II. This is one of the most important commemorations in U.S. and world history. Let’s look deeper.

There are two possible explanations of Joe Biden’s inability to tell the truth about things: One is that his mind is failing him, the other is that his honor is.
