According to recent reporting, officials representing the U.S. and Mexico have failed to reach an agreement on measures to stop the flood of migrants traveling through Mexico. As a result of the scale of the crisis, and without an agreement from Mexico to stop the worsening problem, President Trump has announced tariffs on imported goods from Mexico will start June 10th.
A hastily called press conference by Mexican officials is pending. Livestream Link (Tweets)Predictably Mexican President Lopez-Obrador is unwilling to stop the migration from Central America. There are strong indications the Mexican government does not control the border region as Mexican drug cartels are in charge.
They can't control their Southern border, and don't control their Northern border?
If you don't control your borders, you don't have sovereignty.

Mexico used to have relatively-tight controls on their southern border. Their southern border is roughly 1/4 the length of their northern border with us.
They had tolerable control of their southern border once; maybe these tariffs (and departing companies) will motivate them to remember how to control their southern border again.
Failing that, there is always the A-10 "solution"...

Then insert a covert team and wipe out the so-called cartels to the last knuckle dragging bi-pedal.

Sooner or later the unthinkable becomes the new reality because this is what always happens, eventually.
We have a disease-ridden foreign horde snail-trailing across our southern border like a plague of Old Testament locusts as the invaded country either supports them or has lost interest.
This is unsustainable and we all know it. The only questions left are similar to the questions asked on board the Titanic the night before what happened, happened.

Since the Mexican government has ceded control of the border regions to the cartels, cannot President Trump work a deal to provide US military assistance to the Mexican government to create a series of extinction events among the cartels currently in control of our southern border?

Why should the Mexicans agree with the USA negotiating position when the UniParty US Congress is out there undercutting President Trump’s initiative?
It has always been the Mexican position on the borderline that if the USA does not have the intestinal fortitude to protect the US borderline, why should that be Mexico’s business?
There is little doubt that the leftist and liberal Democrats are advising the Mexicans to wait Trump out, that they will either remove Trump from office through impeachment, or will defeat Trump in the 2020 election, after which business along the borderline can get back to corrupt routine business.
Remember the Mexican economy has been making billions of dollars each year because of continued mass uncontrolled illegal immigration across the borderline into the USA from millions of Mexican illegal aliens in the USA who have been sending money home to their families. With the corrupt Mexican police and politicians at all levels receiving big payoffs in accordance with the historic Mexican bribery principle of la mordida (the bite) to look the other way and allow the mass smuggling of illicit drugs and intending illegal aliens to continue unabated.

Mexico can control what they WANT to! They often make intruders into THEIR Southern border turn around with hands bound, kneel down and get shot in the back of the head. I agree wholeheartedly with our President. We are tired of hearing they can’t do anything. They need to decide if they love their country enough to FIGHT for it.

Excuse second post. I think #6 that the U.S. has done far and above for Mexico in every regard for decades. They need to do what Trump has asked them to do. We are tired of their open defiance of an America that has tried everything to help them.

Then also cut the millions in aid to Mexico. It’s absurd to help them if they make stupid claims of having a right to come here. Our $$ go to waste! The illegal problem is worse than ever. Mexico is a parasite.

Mexico's immigration laws are many times more tougher than the USA's. But the cartels have spoken. Mexico's politicians are not allowed to enforce them.
Let the 5% tariff begin, then ramp it up. I suspect US manufacturers/distributors will merely raise the cost of the final product 50% on each item to enrich themselves, then blame Trump for it.

The Mexican government is addicted to corruption and driven by fear. Until that ends, nothing will be done about the border because the cartels make it lucrative for Mexico to turn a blind eye. If the money doesn’t work to keep Mexican officials in line, the violence will. Mexico has relinquished control of its borders because it is lucrative for them to do so. This is the same strategy that is driving the democrat party. The bad guys in the world are buying politicians like candy in order to facilitate their drug and human trafficking business and lust for power. Mexico lacks the will and moral authority to go after the cartels. Their politicians have betrayed their country for love of money. Sound familiar? Nothing facilitates corruption like a weak and greedy politician. Then comes the show of violence which seals their fate and keeps them in line. Mexico neither has the will or desire to address their corruption. They have conceded their sovereignty to the cartels. They can’t make a deal with the United States because they know they have no real power. The cartels will crush them.
Never forget for a second that there are billionaire globalists working hand in hand with the cartels to move millions into the United States. This invasion is a duel pronged effort brought to you by evil crime lords and self-righteous globalists who are driven by their own evil greed and power lust.
