The gunman who shot dead 12 people at a Virginia Beach municipal building had been facing disciplinary action for a violent fight at work, according to a report.
DeWayne Craddock, 40, was still employed as an engineer with the Department of Public Utilities when he went on his shooting rampage Friday, killing 12 and injuring several others, including a cop.
But he recently started showing serious behavioral problems and got into physical “scuffles” with other city workers, a source told The New York Times.
The source told the paper that the troubles had escalated in the week leading up to the

We hear so many times “why are there no black mass shooters”? Is it me or has anyone else seen anything before this article confirming that a black person committed this atrocity? When I heard Virginia Beach, it’s the first thing I thought based on demographics, having covered the area earli7in my career. I am assuming the MSM does not want people to know this.

I wonder what the violent altercation was before the mass shooting. Seems like workplaces need to be 'on alert' for employees who are potential threats to the safety of others.

I worked in an office with an employee who was making death threats and got into two fights with coworkers. He was suspended for two weeks without pay after the first fight (mostly verbal), but after the second fight (worse than the first fight), he was suspended pending an investigation, then fired. He was a minority, but not a protected one. He was Asian.

The Ft Hood killer, Nadal Hasan, was also considered a threat before he went on his spree. Servicemen said that he acted strangely but their careers would have ended if '..they said something'

Off on a tangent a bit. I'm always suspicious when the term "engineer" is tossed out there. This isn't just the media, but I've had relatives who have said things to the effect that their friend is an engineer at Boeing or some such, and yet spends a lot of time going to the track. Craddock was probably a technician not a degreed engineer. A little bit of searching revealed he was a cannon crewman (artillery) with the VA National Guard as a specialist (E-4). If he was a true engineer he would have been an officer likely leading a combat engineer unit or as an engineer staff officer.

So, they clearly let this go too far. How much was 'black privilege' since everyone has
to walk on eggshells around some blacks who are troublesome and problems?

I don't know, Numero Nueve, but I read in another article that Mr. Craddock had a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University. He also held licensure as a Professional Engineer from the Commonwealth of Virginia's Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects. So indeed Mr Craddock is a bona fide engineer unless there is another DeWayne Craddock residing in Virginia Beach, VA and practicing engineering.
I'd be interested in seeing if the autopsy reveals some sort of brain trauma or tumor that might have set him off.

When you iz black you doesn't have no behavioral problems..... you iz a relative of the Chicago punk and you has to live under white oppression. Reason for his shooting no doubt wuz the fact that they did not make him de president of something or other at the Dept. of Public Utilities.

#11, I’ll stand by my reply until further info develops. The engineer you mention I think is a different person. I can’t imagine a guy with those qualifications ending up as a howitzer crewman in the NG, though stranger things have happened.

The semi-silence is deafening. DeWayne doesn't fit the fictional narrative so this story is going straight down the memory hole ASAP.
Had this freak been a white guy the breaking news scrolls would be everywhere all the time, with constant pressers and every phony CNN/MSNBC analyst from here to Bumf*que dive-bombing the Lofos with bogus anti-Trump accusations.

It irritates this actual engineer by multiple college degrees, when some half educated
clown is called an "engineer".
He shouldn't have been permitted back after the violent events.

Totally agree, #9. An engineer - a tables-referencing, data collecting
solution seeker is going to find another answer to the problem of
having gotten himself fired other than mowing down a dozen people.
I bet describing DeWayne as a ‘technician’ would be generous.

#1 is correct. When the story first hit the news and there was no description of the murderer I knew he was a violent black man. This will be buried by the MSM as quickly as they can. Call me a rascist but there is something very wrong with black males in our society. Not all, I know some who are the kindest, best people I have ever known but something is horribly wrong going on in the black community.

The so-called mainstream media has no interest in this perpetrator as they can’t cast him as being a Trump supporter and an NRA member. More needs to be reported on this perpetrator’s background?

#11. I do stand corrected. Craddock graduated from ODU with a degree in Civil Engineering and passed his certification. But it does seem strange a guy like that would resort to violence in the workplace.
