Congressmen Roy of Texas and Massie of Kentucky are blocking it. Chip Roy represents a Hays County district, just south of Austin. Good for these guys, but I doubt they'll be able to stand up against this mishmash maelstrom of spending.

This bill will eventually be passed. They will just attach a " it's for the children " name to it.

Are the pallets of water bottles still on the dock in PR. Yup, with the mayor (or Gov) complaining that they don't have a way to deliver the water. Can't she figure anything out for herself? Where is her leadership?

And, ENTIRELY without constitutional basis. This is absolutely unconstitutional. And not one more penny to Puerto Rico. PR needs to be an independent country.

Mueller’s Final Statement Turns
Jurisprudence On Its Head

Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent 10 minutes publicly stating that his 448-page, two-part, $35 million and 22-months-in-the-making report speaks for itself, as he announced he was closing shop and retiring. In so doing, he said he couldn’t charge a sitting President with a crime, but if he could have exonerated him he would have said so. This starkly politicizes presidential investigations going forward and indicts, if we may say so, the already-dubious system of weaponizing a lawyer with a blank check, no deadline, and an open-ended mandate for him to fish where he likes with minimal oversight.

Bernie Sanders, the most authoritarian figure in the mob of authoritarian candidates being fielded by the Democratic Party, says President Trump wants to establish an authoritarian government. It’s one thing for Sanders alone to be convinced of this. It’s entirely another when the majority of his party and virtually all the mainstream media nod their heads in self-satisfied agreement. “You know that we have a president who has no understanding or respect for the Constitution of the United States, and the separation of powers,

President Trump might be openly hostile to the mainstream media, but it was the Obama administration that was engaged in a widespread effort to thwart the media. Which do you think is more harmful to a free press? The full extent of Obama’s actions against the press are only now coming to light. The Columbia Journalism Review reports on a newly released government document showing that the Obama Justice Department engaged in a far more sweeping effort to spy on the Associated Press than previously believed.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, polling second among Democratic presidential candidates, will reportedly butt in on Walmart’s annual shareholder meeting, where he will demand the company change its policies to please him. Voters take note: This is how socialists operate. They believe all businesses belong to them. Sanders, who has long self-identified as a socialist, will “push for the retail giant’s workers to get

Nancy Pelosi is between impeach and a hard place. “You want to believe that there’s all this unease in our caucus,” an irritated House Speaker told the press on Thursday, a day when the barbs were flying between herself and President Trump, and when many House Democrats expressed impatience or even dissatisfaction with her leadership to her face. “That simply isn’t the truth

When President Bill Clinton, over 20 years ago, was probed by a special investigator, and 11 possible grounds for impeachment were found, including perjury, witness tampering and obstruction of justice, Democrats didn’t defend their party’s President the way Republicans defend Trump today. No, Democrats were far more extreme. What makes the rhetorical record so glaringly hypocritical is that in Donald Trump’s case, unlike Clinton’s, the investigator found no evidence of presidential crimes.

Is the U.S. government under the control of a shadowy group of insiders, unseen by the public and unaccountable to voters? A newly published report suggests the answer is “yes.” But lay aside the elaborate conspiracy theories about Russian infiltration. This insidious threat is far more mundane, stemming from bureaucrats who have hijacked the regulatory process to evade accountability for their actions. It’s time for Congress and President Trump to push back against federal agency rule-makers who are overstepping their authority.

‘These are prosperous times in America.” If that sounds like pro-Trump propaganda, that’s because it’s rarely uttered by anyone who isn’t already a supporter of the current president. But that’s how National Public Radio, to its credit, began a story about the incredible jobs boom underway right now in a segment called “America Is In Full Employment, So Why Aren’t We Celebrating?” “Why doesn’t today’s full employment come with effervescence?” reporters Pallavi Gogoi and Scott Horsley ask.

Human beings will die without oxygen. Yet breathing pure oxygen will kill you as certainly as taking strychnine or cyanide. Someone should remind Grand Rapids, Michigan’s Congressman Justin Amash of this – and maybe his voters. In a series of tweets on Saturday, Amash declared that “Contrary to Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.”

The threat to the free world if we get seduced into fully equipping our infrastructures with cheap Chinese advanced communications technology is of the gravest nature. “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war,” Chinese general and military strategist Sun Tzu declared in The Art of War, some 500 years before Christ. Using 21st-century terminology last week in London, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described much the same thing, warning that Beijing is seeking “to divide Western alliances through bits and bytes, not bullets and bombs.”

Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea Clinton are reportedly forming a Hollywood production company. The two have spoken to studios about financing, Bloomberg reported Thursday. The Clintons plan to build a pipeline of film and television programs that focus on stories about women or are created by women. The yet-to-be-named company is one of a number of business opportunities Hillary Clinton is considering. Last year, the 71-year-old former Democratic presidential contender signed on to assist producing a show about the activists who helped get women the right to vote called “The Woman’s Hour.” The show is being adapted from a 2018 book by Elaine Weiss.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak (D) on Thursday vetoed a bill which would have pledged the state’s six electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote for President of the United States. Assembly Bill 186, which recently passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would have seen Nevada join with 14 other states in an agreement to vote for the winner of the popular vote. The Assembly had voted in favor of the measure 23-17. “Once effective, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact could diminish the role of smaller states like Nevada in national electoral contests and force Nevada’s electors to side with whoever wins the nationwide popular vote,

A crush of climbers waiting to ascend the world's tallest summit can be seen in a new video amid the ongoing debate whether Nepal should limit permits to prevent dangerous overcrowding on the world's highest peak. Eleven people have died so far this year on Mount Everest -- including nine in Nepal -- likely due to altitude sickness, which is caused by low amounts of oxygen at high elevation and can lead to headaches, vomiting, shortness of breath and mental confusion. Nepal has issued permits to 381 people to climb Everest, which the government says is the greatest number ever.
