The left, which has been so eager to topple statues of Confederate generals, slave-owning founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, even Kate Smith who sang objectionable racist songs early in her career, now has a Martin Luther King, Jr. problem. According to the Daily Mail: Secret FBI tapes that accuse Martin Luther King Jr of having extramarital affairs with '40 to 45 women' and even claim he 'looked on and laughed' as a pastor friend raped a parishioner exist, an author has claimed. The civil rights hero was also heard allegedly joking he was the founder of the 'International Association for the

#METOO does not care that King was a serial sexual abuser and complicit in rape. They only care about being able to use him as a cudgel to beat on America. Witness Bill Clinton. As long as the person serves the purpose of hate for America, #MeToo is happy to promote him. Harvey Weinstein ceased to be useful to the Left - that was his real crime to #MeToo. He was worth a lot more in money to be extorted than he was worth as lefty.

The left's bigger problem with MLK was that he wanted people to be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Exactly the opposite of the identity politics that all Democrats have embraced.

The Left is chasing its own tail and consuming itself. The thing is, those on the Left are GUILTY of what they have been accused of. Several on the Right, like Kavanaugh, are NOT. That's true about more than #MeToo problems. Russia collusion, Trump innocent, the Left guilty. Racism, Police accused of racial assaults mostly innocent, Jessie Smollett fake attacks Guilty Government corruption, Trump innocent, BO BIGGEST SCANDAL EVER

I, too, am skeptical about why this is coming out (again), now. It is old news, so who are they trying to sway? But, me? I don't care. He was not a perfect man, but what he provided--an American way to deal with our slavery past and go forward--was perfect for us. He is a touchstone for leaving racism (by blacks, whites, and all others) behind: the content of your character, not the color of your skin. I'm not willing to throw that out with the bathwater.

Post WWII was a tense time. My father supported MLK financially, from the sidelines, by messenger. He believed there could be some affairs, but also believed the Democrats, through Hoover, were working very hard creating such tapes to destroy King's reputation. In the late 50s, early 60s, it was almost expected that a man of wealth keep a mistress on the side. It's not beyond possibility that these tapes, if they exist, are so much manufactured tripe the Democrats hoped to eventually use to control King.

In terms of evidence, I have no way of knowing if King did any of the alleged things. What I do know, is that Democrats have been blackmailing opposition members for a looooong time. J Edgar Hoover is alledged to be a cross-dressser for example. It was through the FBI that the Dems gathered their information. Raw FBI files are wonderful things for opposition research. After that, Hollywood is filled with actors who can convincingly portray anyone, for a fee.

CUCUTA, Colombia (Reuters) - Wearing camouflage shirts and combat boots, a Venezuelan militia group stands in formation in the Colombian city of Cucuta as their commander, a former Venezuelan army sergeant, outlines plans to seize towns across the border before heading to Caracas to help oust President Nicolas Maduro. Eight men, who said they were defectors from Venezuelan police, army and intelligence services, had gathered near the two nations’ tense frontier, from where they said they will lead an attack aimed at overthrowing Maduro and handing the reins of power to opposition leader Juan Guaido.

In their report, Cindy Carcamo and Paloma Esquivel begin: Los Angeles lawyer Peter Schey has long been a trailblazing courtroom defender of immigrant youth. Three modelers are predicting President Trump will win reelection in 2020 based on a combination of economic data and incumbent advantages, according to a column in The New York Times. Steven Rattner wrote that Ray Fair of Yale favors Trump to win based on a model that combines incumbency and gross domestic product growth rates. The model predicted Barack Obama's 2008 popular vote margin within a fraction of a percentage point and got within two-tenths of a point for his 2012 vote share, Rattner, who served as a counselor to the Treasury secretary during the Obama administration, added.

Tsipras has shown himself to be the ultimate political survivor but he will have a hard time staying in the game after such a beating.

Mostly, this has been a good thing — it is easier to take a prosecutor seriously when he or she avoids grandstanding on cable news and instead sticks to the work of taking down the bad guys. Mueller's ability to keep his lips zipped was especially striking in contrast with President Trump, whose constant commentary on the investigation sometimes provided his critics with fresh ammunition.
