Stop accepting the Bible as true and admit Christianity has gotten it terribly wrong on homosexuality. This is the advice Rev. Oliver Thomas gives in a recent opinion article in USA Today for how the church can stop “hemorrhaging members” and see brighter days.(Snip)We don’t have to wonder whether Thomas is correct. Not only is he wrong, but an impressive body of very strong data and experience demonstrates the precise opposite of what he claims is true.

Inspiring article that runs against the grain of SJW trendiness.

Apparently Thomas is someone who is very confused about who he serves and what is expected of him. Or he´s one of those guys who went into ´religion´ because he figured it was an easy gig, a way to earn some money, and doesn´t really believe in anything outside of himself, like most leftards.

I think most people would just like the gay lobby to shut up and don´t really have a dog in the fight. That said, you can´t make me like you, which seems to be their aim.

People aren’t leaving the Church because of the gay issue. That’s just a convenient excuse. They are leaving because they want to do as they wish, without any responsibility. Gay marriage and the gay pedophelia priest abuse scandals are ways to give SJW virtue-signalers street cred, and a way out.

I left my Methodist church a long time ago, because of the sickening lurch towards socialism. My wife left the Catholic church a long time ago because of the pedophile scandal, and the restrictions on marrying outside of the church. Apparently, we aren´t married in the eyes of the church. my taxes sure say otherwise!

It is ironic that these so-called Protestant churches reject the idea that sparked the Reformation in the first place--that the Bible is the sole source of and authority for Christian doctrine.

True Christ-centered Christianity is not subject to the whims and fashions of the times. God is He who assures that the Faith He established shall never wane.

The Bible is very clear, in a number of different places, that homosexuality is a sin.
This "adjustment" to accept homosexuality is fundamentally against the teachings of the Bible. This is not negotiable, it is what it is.

If your religion has become so permissive that it allows and celebrates any perversion and it asks nothing of its members, why should you bother to show up?

Maybe if the churches actually preached the Word of God, rather than preaching politics, we would still attend...

“Hemorrhaging members” is the natural selection between the sheep and the goats. To be a Christian is to follow The Shepherd through the narrow gate; an entry only possible by accepting the discipline of Jesus Christ. It requires an entirely different way of thinking and becoming an active participant in God’s Plan for humanity. Goats are unruly, impulsive and self-centered. Their concept of God sees only a Being that demands unthinking obedience under the threat of punishment. Spiritually they remain juvenile and recklessly throw their lot into Satan’s purse.
Currently some Catholic theologians and laity are exploring the “Benedict Option”, referring to how St. Benedict’s monostatic rule preserved the Faith through the Dark Ages. It was in these monasteries and convents the liturgies were preserved, and the Scriptures and great books were copied and stored. Perhaps in the midst of this world-wide persecution of God’s Chosen People and their Christian brethren, it is wiser to hold fast to the Ancient Truths and let those unwilling to accept the discipline of Christ walk away as did the rich young man unable to free himself from his worldly wealth.
Perhaps it is also time for Christians to be united, as Our Lord requested before His Last Supper. (John 17:20-21) For all its worldly ills and failures, over the last two thousand years the Catholic Church has preserved the full teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. Only in the Mass (Anglicans included) is the Sacrifice of the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ offered to the faithful in the Holy Eucharist. (John 6:51-71) With love I invite my Protestant brothers and sisters to come home to Rome.

Just ask yourself if you truly believe that Rev. Oliver Thomas has any idea of the mind of God? Maybe God is just thinning the herd ahead of the 2/3 of all who are already scheduled to pass from the scene.

I am still puzzled as to why western civilization has bent over backwards(no pun) to cater to these perverts?
Less than one percent and not even close to being the wealthiest demographic(white western(Christian)males over 50) and yet its as if this minority of a minority was 99 percent of the worlds populace.
Answer that question and you might be able to save civilization.

I can easily answer your question, #18: Satan--not government or people--is behind this, and his goal is to completely entrap people in lies so that they never turn to God. In some instances, he uses despair to keep them from turning to God. In America, he most often uses pride and self-righteousness.
As for "saving civilization," the only Savior we need is the One we already have--Jesus Christ!

The Christian churches losing member are the ones going left. It´s not just homosexuals that the left is trying to push on churches. It´s the whole SJW thing they are embracing...open borders, sanctuary for illegals. My church (Methodist) is conservative and thriving. Take a look at what´s happened to the Episcopal Church here and the Anglican in the UK. They have swung left and and bleeding members.

I left my protestant church because they kept coming back from the district conference saying "We agreed to disagree on homosexuality" time after time. They also started aiding illegal aliens.
How about hate the sin, love the sinner? As well as render unto Caesar...?
Without a moral foundation, any church will crumble. I feel far more Christian reading my Bible at home.

It is simple cognitive dissonance if you first say: "We are Christian." and then say "We don´t follow the founding Book of Christianity."

I belong to an ultra liberal denomination, and every time a gay shows up in the pulpit, the congregation simply melts away like they´d never gone to that particular church.
We´ve had lesbians, bi-sexuals, indeterminate sexually, gays, ascetics, etc. try to bring the congregation around to their point of view, and not one time did it work ~ and they were left with nothing but the rent from the Montesori school on the premises to keep the building heated in winter.
So then some Norm shows up, the congregation returns, and all is fine until the next deviant.
Then the congregation leaves.
The Episcopaleans have observed this with entire large segments of their church involving numerous congregations ~ of mostly wealthy people ~ and they just leave, and let that places die, then sell the buildings to the Pentecostals or the Moslems.
Frankly, I don´t care to be preached at by some person whose prime interest in life is focused on their nether regions.

#15, I have a sister-in-law who converted to Roman Catholicism about 25 years ago. The Roman Catholic (RC) Church provided a spiritual foundation and home for her that she was lacking up to that point in her life. True to stereotype she was more catholic than the Pope. In the process she alienated herself and my brother from us and needlessly provoked members of our family, several of which were, and are, strong believers in Christ by making veiled criticisms that we were crypto apostates and contending that we should join the RC Church.
Fast forward now. With the latest pedophilia revelations coupled with a leftist Pope who has clearly gone off the rails taking the Vatican with him my sister-in-law has all but left the RC Church. We are reconciling with her but the scars are still there.
Here’s the take away: Denominational differences prevent us being on same page on everything. Therefore to suggest that Christians unite under the RC Church is not going to happen and quite frankly it would do more harm than good, anecdote aside. And that’s OK. As John 14:2 states: “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” All Christians can find common ground on how we can provide a light in a dark and secular world through the Word in scripture. Christ will bring us together and take us home and I for one eagerly anticipate that. He is ultimately in charge, not us.

The world will combine against Christianity and one by one, those churches that combine with the world will focus the hate on one church and one alone. That is the one I would watch for.

If Christian Churches embrace homosexuality as a healthy lifestyle is this expected to soften the betrayal by clergy.

Homosexuality is a sin of degeneracy and it will seek to destroy everything in its path that isn´t so inclined. Homos hate God because they know God hates their sin. Homosexuals are arrogant but also lost in their own lusts to the point of manic-depression, and eventually suicide. "Gay" it is not, and the Scripture strictly prohibits it. Jewish homos of the Old Testament were stoned to death by the Law of Moses. God didn´t change His mind.
