LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Maximum Security co-owner Gary West criticized race stewards’ disqualification of his horse’s Kentucky Derby victory as “egregious” and said he was pondering his next step, including a possible appeal. "I think this is the most egregious disqualification in the history of horse racing, and not just because it´s our horse," West told The Associated Press by phone Saturday night. Several hours earlier, Maximum Security appeared to back up his undefeated record with a 1¾-length victory in the slop over Country House in the Kentucky Derby. The victory was overturned 22 minutes later

The race track stewards must be from the DNC.

It shouldn´t surprise anyone that horse racing is corrupt, I suppose. Football is corrupt. Why do we watch professional sports anymore?

Why is the damning video not available until Thursday? We get instant replays in other sports all the time. What is going on here? FYI; I’m not necessarily a fan, but I liked “Secretariat” and “Seabiscuit.”

Seems to me that the first pony crossing the line should be the winner. Guess I’m just gettin’ old.

Racing will never be the same now. The genie is out’the bottle.
The Preakness is coming up. The minute the losing horse/jockey realizes he’s lost, there will be screams of obstruction or some such.
Too bad. But i know the best horse won Saturday and it wasn’t the Country Cottage (ow whatever his name),

That bully Maximum Security already won enough races so it was time to let someone else win. Participation trophy´s coming full circle?

I watched the replay and listened to what I was supposed to be seeing but didn’t see it. Sure there was a little veer to the right but nobody got blocked and that happens all the time. Oh wait now I get it, the veer was to the “Right” never mind I get it now.

The Racing Judges did to Maximum Security what Democrats wanted to do with Trump - rule a duly-elected President the loser.
Could this have been a subliminal message of the Deep State´s power?
And oh yes, follow the money... who made the biggest bet on #2?

The real explanation is that we can’t have a blue collar horse win the Derby, that spot is reserved for the high society elites!

While the merits of the DQ remain debatable - - the post-race behavior of the stewards does not.
They simply dumped a bland statement on the desk - - answered no questions - - then took off on a four-day vacation.
The colossal gall and ineptitude of those people is unspeakable. Even the horses have more sense than those dolts.

When Country House jockey was asked was he moved, bumped, whatever, he dodged and danced, well, maybe maybe not, but then when they declared him winner it became very plain, yes we were bumped, moved whatever.

Re #3, I thought the same thing. Thursday?
As for #11, Country House’s horse was not bumped.
It appeared that the horses were in a right pack heading for the finish line and one came up so close behing Maximum Security that that horse’s front foot was brushed by MS’s rear foot. It didn’t cause a change of position for any of the horses behind MS. Country House was not involved. Was on the outside.
We saw the chief steward’s little lecture to the jockeys before the race. Talk about a nanny type. You’d have thought she was talking (down) to a group of recalcitrant kids rather than a group of experienced jockeys. How she got that job is beyond me… “now you behave yourselves”….that tone.
Watching the stewards’ review live after the race, she was standing close to the video screen and it was clear that whatever she/they were looking for was exceedingly UNclear. She stared at that screen for a long time. It seemed to take forever and ever…

cont’d
From NBC News:
Stewards, who supervise the outcome of horse races, referenced Section 12 of rule 810 KAR1:016. The rule calls for disqualification if “a leading horse or any other horse in a race swerves or is ridden to either side so as to interfere with, intimidate, or impede any other horse or jockey.” Stewards determined that Maximum Security interfered with the path of several horses as the field of 19 rounded the final turn in Saturday’s race.
Maximum Security crossed the line first by 1 3/4 lengths before two jockeys filed objections against the horse for interference. Stewards took 22 minutes before overturning the finish and elevating Country House to first while dropping Maximum Security to 17th.
Kentucky Horse Racing Commission chief steward Barbara Borden said she and two other stewards interviewed riders and observed several video angles of the incident and determined that Maximum Security impeded the progress of War of Will and interfered with Long Range Toddy and Country House.

Horse racing and breeding - a nasty business.
Fouls are called by losing jockeys all the time.
The jockey for Maximum Security admitted that his horse drifted to the right - he thought crowd noise was the cause of that.
At that urn, the best possible position for Maximum Security was to be on the rail. Instead, he moved right.
Interference, under racing rules, does not have to be intentional.
Country House is known to be an excellent closer.
Just before the incident took [place, Country House was surging.) Watch the tape.
It would have been difficult for the stewards to ignore the incident.

I think the Preakness and the Belmont stakes will sort this one out.
Its all about the stud fees. If Maximum Security wins either of those races his stud fees will be secure for the future, he just won´t have the title.
The pressure is on Country House to win the next two legs.
You watch, viewership will be greatly enhanced for the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
Mission accomplished!

It stinks, sounds a lot like the damned corrupt Dems in the FBI and CIA deciding to overturn the 2016 election.
No kind of horse racing expert, but seems like first across the finish line is the winner.
The horse racing folks are pooping in their soup with this, it is not selling at all among the ordinary people.
