It’s truly the Avengers’ world. The opening weekend of “Avengers: Endgame” demolished box office records with a stunning $350 million in North America and $1.2 billion worldwide. Disney-Marvel’s fourth and final Avengers superhero movie has captivated moviegoers, accounting for more than four of every five tickets sold domestically. “Avengers: Endgame” topped the year-old “Avengers: Infinity War” records by nearly $100 million domestically and a jaw-dropping $560 million worldwide.

My husband and I usually drag ourselves to one movie a year. And I wouldn´t cry if we skipped that tradition from now on.
Most years, it´s a movie like "The Avengers". And we have enjoyed them.
Sadly, so many of the actors in these movies have started to take advantage of their fame and celebrity status to publicly preach socialist ideals and to constantly bash President Trump. When the actor that plays Captain America started doing it, that just so massively turned me off and we have no desire in the least to go see this movie. It may be the greatest movie ever made, but it will have to be so without our support of money.
I truly wish actors, singers, and other entertainers would just shut up and do their art!!! Stop alienating half of your potential fan base and ruining movies, music, art, etc, etc...

Can´t say i disagree about some of the stars spouting their stupidity and hate for our president. But I am dying to see this movie.

#1 and I share some interesting movie history together, if I´m remembering correctly, and I understand that position. I too have learned forego some things I love because I can´t stand where they are coming from.
However, one of the many things I like about Marvel Studios is the refreshing lack of political posturing in their movies. With the exception of Black Panther, which I thought was agenda-driven and overrated, I´ve found them to be refreshingly free of political bias.
Marvel makes movies that are well worth watching. To make movies, they need to employ actors. Actors, in my experience, are not invariably over-contaminated by common sense. Nonetheless, some of them do their best work here, and all of them put their hearts into this film.
It´s a valentine to all the kids that grew up believing a man could fly. I understand if some won´t want to see it, but I truly wish you would.

I have never liked any of the super hero movies. Just not my cup of tea. Watched George Reeves play Superman in the 1950´s but that is as far as my interest goes. Obviously billions of people love them and from what I have read this is a great movie. And I too wish these entertainers would just do what they do and leave politics alone. I have a hard time separating them from their art and their politics which causes me not to open my wallet to support their craft.

I am with #4 We don´t go to movies anymore and I don´t have much interest in ´superhero´ movies. I am sure it´s a good film and I use to eat up all the old sci-fi serials and Republic Pictures westerns. That was 60 years ago though. Anything I want to see, I stream. It´s a lot cheaper and much more comfortable.

For a "comic-book movie," this one is a true cinematic achievement. (Not that the academy would ever recognize it as such, but clearly the fans will.) If you´re a fan of the Marvel films, you will be amazed at how neatly Endgame ties up ten years of filmmaking and 20+ films, and it doesn´t miss a beat. It is everything you would hope it to be.
Culturally, the last time we saw something like this was the end of the original Star Wars trilogy back in the early 80s. (One might include the end of the Prequel trilogy in the early 2000s, but I´m not sure the culture as a whole was as wrapped up in the prequels.)
I think Marvel has managed to penetrate even deeper into the public conscious than the Star Wars saga did. Especially after the most recent disappointment there. (As a fan from the very beginning, it pains me to admit that.) That´s not to say that the epic mythology of the Star Wars saga can´t make a recovery, but for now, Marvel has worked a true cinematic wonder.
If you´re a fan at all, go see it. You won´t be disappointed.

Uh, OK. Whatever. I didn´t read those comic books, likely won´t bother with the movie unless an intelligent friend recommends it.

I might go see it even if Chris Evans plays Captain America with a friggin´ beard and no helmet/mask.

This isn´t movie-making. It is CGI arranging. Adherents are apparently hooked on the stuff.

I´m almost 70. I grew up with the comic books and have seen all the movies with the exception of Captain Marvel (I don´t like Brie Larson). I´m going for sure and from what I fear, Marvel may make the rest of the movies "woke". So if they do, bye guys, it was fun while it lasted.

Writer with so little imagination that they make movies from comic books. Viewers deserve better than this.

It´s extraordinary. I won´t spoil it in case you plan to see it. For those of us who have watched these movies and grown to love these characters, it´s everything I would have wanted it to be. Even the critics love it. And if you don´t like Marvel movies, that´s fine too. I´ll like it enough for both of us.
This one´s for the fans.
