“How did we put this man in the Oval Office?” Roger Cohen asked this last week after the Mueller report found President Trump innocent of collusion with Russia in the 2016 election. In the minds of many, he still has to be guilty of nearly everything else. Trump was a minority candidate and a minority president, never winning half of the vote in the Republican primaries. He has never enjoyed the approval of half of the country. Trump lost the popular vote by more than 2 million to Hillary Clinton, a woman as corrupt and dishonest as he is,

The writer must be a never Tumper, given the unflattering picture she paints of Trump.

The media are still offering theories on how Trump became President. They themselves are one of the reasons.

Enough voters to give Trump a clear majority of delegates at the Republican convention and later to give him 309 Electoral votes lined up behind him. He spent $5 per vote to Hillary´s $11. This does not happen by default or because somebody else made a mistake. The writer has obviously progressed far beyond smoking pot.

“As corrupt and dishonest as Hillary” . What is she saying? Has she ever done an in-depth article on Hillary’s corruption. The comparisons would be pretty lopsided. Trump is a choir boy compared to her.

We are tired of the Bushes and the Kennedy´s and the Clintons. We know too much about them. Trump may have talked about what he could do to some women but Bill actually did it and got away with it yet the Progressives didn´t care. They still love Bill and Hillary but not so much the Kennedy´s. We don´t. Trump´s win was a miracle. God loves America.

"Trump was a minority candidate and a minority president, never winning half of the vote in the Republican primaries."
That´s a lie. And its falsity is easily discoverable. Trump won more than half the vote in the primaries in NY, CT, DE, MD, PA, RI, IN, NE, WV. OR, WA, CA, MT, NJ, NM, SD.
I know, she will claim as cover that Trump didn´t win more than half of the total votes cast in all Republican primaries combined in 2016. But she also knows that is NOT how the primaries work. She lost me with that. Once I step in the BS I stop walking.

" ...never winning half of the vote in the Republican primaries "...???...he was running against almost a dozen other candidates ... this writer is not overly-familiar with the concept of how primaries work.
...if Trump had rigged the primaries like evita did...he would had a much more "impressive" total

Yes, President Trump lost the popular vote. But it was not a vote limited to US citizens. The overwhelming number of illegals voting, especially in California, was the difference.

How did Obama get to be president? Let Mr. Peabody take you into the wayback machine and you will recall that he was branded as a new kind of politician an outsider who was going to bring about change and unite us all. Whatever the hell that was supposed to mean.
Of course it turned out that he was the ultimate insider preordained many years prior to 2008, but that´s beside the point.
Why would the democrats package the same old swamp creature as something different?
Our government has been failing we the people and serving the interests of big money much it not most of it foreign the new world order.
We elected Trump because we had a glimmer of hope that he would be the first real American president since Reagan, putting we the people above the global communists.
Obama´s election tells me that in an odd way the democrats were ahead of the GoP in realizing that they had a problem selling the scam. Our government establishment has become a fraud.
With all of his flaws Trump is a break from the slide toward the new communist world order.

American Patriots are the dynasty that put Donald Trump into office, a point that the success-haters always forget. He picked up the ball and ran with it. Sorry but each one of us counts more than a dozen Hillary voters.
How do you win half of the vote in the republican primaries when you are running against 16 people? Math is not the libtards strength.

The people wanted a patriotic American, a non-politician who would turn around Obama’s lousy economy and stop illegal immigration. They got him, and he’s doing what the patriotic Americans wanted. It’s as simple as that.

"To call either the choice or the voice of the people is nuts."
Right. This onetime #nervoustrumper says that Donald Trump IS the voice of the people who actually make this country go. Emery is just a bitter member of the permanent bipartisan fusion party that has run this country into the ground with failed policies of her ´think´ tanks.

Hitlery won the California, Illinois and New York vote....
The Electoral College saved us from the tyranny of the left.
Enough about the popular vote... the founders wanted to protect the other states from the tyranny of the few populous states over the entire country

We never had to question President Trump’s love of our country instead of self like Hillary.

While the author is excessively critical of Trump, their main point still holds. Donald Trump became President in large part because the Bush and Clinton machines eliminated any other option.
The one thing the author misses is the role Hillary played in Trump winning the Republican nomination. She did everything in her power to eliminate any other viable candidate.

No, Heb was just one of the more minor of a bunch of minor players.
To the extent that the Bushes turned out to be RINOs and Uniparty, and huge disappointments, sure, that contributed to people looking for a genuine candidates after being sold nasty, RINO fakes like McCain and Romney (spit!) for far too long.

It has been 823 days since President Trump´s inauguration. This crap about how Trump won should have stopped 800 days ago! My mom had a warning nobody ignored, ´´I´m not going to tell you again!´´

Sorry, but Trump could lose in 2020 if the democrats had a normal person as their nominee. When you love your candidate, it’s hard to imagine that not everyone feels the same.

He has never enjoyed approval of half the country... That is a flat out lie. Even rigged rat sponsored polling has shown President Trump to be over 50% on multiple occasions at more than once at a higher approval than bho.
Only beltway types are concerned about how the lying, corrupt, political class messed up and lost to an outsider. The rest of America is happy that this President isn´t just another lifelong government parasite lawyer politician. That ´popular´ vote thing ought to be challenged hard, but the rats will NEVER endorse voting standards that would eliminate fraud, and the RINOS are the loser props the rats need to pretend they didn´t steal another election. What I don´t understand is why Trump´s inner circle isn´t doing something to ensure the usual rat tactics won´t be supercharged in 2020. Wake up.
