Gospel LK 24:1-12: At daybreak on the first day of the week the women who had come from Galilee with Jesus took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb; but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were puzzling over this, behold, two men in dazzling garments appeared to them. They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here,

To those who do not believe. To move that stone would have taken many strong men. At least one of them would have said that he had helped. No one came forward. Human nature predicts that the powers that be would have left no stone unturned to find the body. It was never found. The living Jesus came and walked among them. He lives today. Praise be to God.

I highly recommend the series the History Channel is presenting on the life and death of Jrsus. It is told from the perspective of people who played pivotal roles in his saga, such as Joseph, Mary Magdalene, Pilate and Judas. Various scholars and theological experts offer context and background, but all in a way respectful of Faith. It has left a mark on me.

The church leaders paid those ´´sleeping soldiers´´ to lie and keep quiet about the missing body; that if they got in trouble Pilate, they´d cover for them. Normally, a soldier asleep at his post would get shot now and questioned later.
Hallelujah! Indeed.

We do not deserve what He has done for us, and yet, He gave it freely, asking only that we receive it. Our joy in The Lord is so immense that, sometimes, we cannot take a breath.
For those looking for a good Eater movie, try Risen, starring Joseph Finnes (Shakespeare In Love). It is a magnificent movie that is well written, beautifully acted, with outstanding production values. So many times, “Christian movies” are sadly lacking, but this one is pure gold.
It is similar to The Robe, in that it is about a Roman soldier who is charged with overseeing the Crucifixion. Jesus’ body has disappeared and the Sanhedrin fear the disciples have stolen it to further their fanatical beliefs. The tribune goes in search of the body. You can rent it from Prime for less than $5. You won’t be disappointed.
Happy Easter, one and all!

Resurrection Morning Blessings, Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ...
...and a loving suggestion to anyone who does not know Him to prayerfully read the Gospel of John. If you seek Me, you will find Me.

In Jesus´ own words:
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
John 14:6
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
John 3:16
“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
John 3:18

This has been a deeply emotional Lent and Sacred Triduum for me. God granted me the Gift of Tears at the Easter Vigil Mass last night. It made it a little difficult to be a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. I think I gasped audibly at the Consecration, but it didn´t matter because I was so elated. I love our Catholic liturgies so much, especially on Easter Vigil when the veil between Heaven and Earth is at it thinnest.
I have the great privilege this year to take the Blessed Sacrament to our home-bound parishioners, and will also be attending Easter Morning Mass. I´ve never done both Vigil and Morning...I´m taking lots of kleenex.

Leaving for church in a few minutes. I watched that tv series produced by Joel Osteen called The Life of Christ. It was amazing! Thank you Jesus for your suffering so we can believe you are the Risen Son of God.

Happy Easter to all the posters on this site and our illustrious leader, Lucianne. I receive a daily Bible reading from Notre Dame University and it reinforces my love of family, friends and all Americans especially our President. Mass was so uplifting this morning and I prayed that the hatred that remains toward others will disappear. We are a blessed country.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

We can´t imagine what it was to obey his father´s will and take on the sins of the whole world... to voluntarily submit to being taken, scourged, and crucified on a cross.
He did it, though, as an example of submitting to God´s will, out of love for us and to set us free from sin and death. He had complete faith in God´s promises, knowing his reward and the promises it would pass on to us.
Thank God he has such a son who would willingly obey and suffer such things for us.

He is risen! “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” (1 Peter 1:3-7) “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26) Easter Blessings!

While we worship in peace, Christians and Catholics do so in peril for their lives in many parts of the world. So many died today for simply exercising their faith.
